Chapter 5

Then he saw an expensively looking car driving in to the compound and the man said “I have just arrived where you are. I can see you. why the hell are you naked? Anyway, don’t move. I have extra clothes and I will give them to you. We need to talk ASAP. “

The man quickly hung up before he could say anything further.

Josh remained cold, he couldn’t help wondering why the man was being mysterious. Besides, he was practically naked and he wasn’t sure if this was the best way to meet someone.

The car stopped some distance from Josh and then a stern looking man climbed down the car. He looked at Josh and without saying anything, he went back to the car and brought out a brand-new suit for him.

 They looked expensive.

“You look like you needed a hand. Please put on these clothes. I think that we wear the same size “the man offered and Josh gladly took the clothes. He thanked the man and then asked “what do you need from me?”

“We will talk about it in the car away from the outsiders “he said coldly as he stared at Alicia and her family “Are they your family? Is this ugly woman your wife? “

“No…. she is not my wife and they are not my family. They are complete strangers to me “Josh replied

“Great …follow me” the man led the way as Josh followed him.

 “Hey…. where are you taking this loser?” Rachel asked.

“It is none of your business “the man replied coldly as he led Josh in to the car. For once since everything began, he has found someone who was there to stand up for him. He didn’t care what he wanted as long as he was going to get him away from that toxic environment.

As soon as they had settled inside the car, the man introduced himself “Hello…..I am Dan Johnson. I have been looking for you for a very long time. You aren’t a very easy man to track. “he said as his eyes lightened with happiness.

 Josh didn’t know what he was up to. He has never found anyone who was happy with his presence. The only people who considered his feelings were his parents and after they passed away, it has been trouble after trouble.

“I am sorry. I didn’t move much or associate with other people. I practically   spent my entire time doing house chores and being an errand boy to the foster family. If I may ask. why were you looking for me? he suddenly wanted to know.

“I am your brother. Well……your younger biological brother and I need to take you home immediately. There is a crisis that I can’t explain right now. will you come home?”  he asked.

Josh has learned not to trust people that easily. so, he simply asked “Show me the evidence that I am related to you then maybe I might listen to what you have to tell me. “

 His heart was pumping so hard in his chest. He had spent so many years imagining what his family would be like but he shouldn’t rush things. 

“Check your phone. I have sent you an attachment on W******p.”

Dan had obtained his sample without his knowledge from a cup that he had drunk with when he was in one of the restaurant .

Josh clearly saw it . This man was really his brother. The feeling was mixed but the most important thing was to meet the rest of his family

“Now shall we go home?”

Josh smiled for the very first time in the day. He really found his family. He didn’t care what they wanted him for as long as he was amongst those people who will see him as human being.

After short while, they arrived in a house in an exclusive neighborhood. The mansion before him was unlike anything that he has ever seen in his life but for him, what mattered   was that finally he was meeting his family.

They then proceeded to enter the house. immediately   , he saw an elderly  man who was siting while  looking at him with affection .  He has never met him before but he could feel the connection.

“Grandfather, I have finally brought Josh back home. He was living in a very abusive environment so I will make sure to make up for everything that he had gone through “Dan said.

“Son, I am sorry that we took so long but you are finally here. Please have a seat because we have a very long discussion to make. First of all let me have the ring. It is a symbol of authority in our family and anyone who have it was the one to become the family heir.

He removed the ring from his hands and handed it over to the man. His grandfather checked it and then nodded towards Dan with satisfaction before returning the ring back.

“You see, your parents gave the ring to you for a reason. When you were born, there was someone who was determined to kill you and the only way for you to survive was for them to give you up for adoption. They placed this ring on you so that you can find your way back to your rightful place, son” His grandfather explained emotionally as tears wetted his eyes.

 They were talking about his parents but why weren’t they here to greet him.

“I am sorry where are my parents?” Josh finally asked.

“I am sorry son, they passed away not long ago and they made me and your brother promise that we will find you . But I want to tell you that it wasn’t their wish to give you up. They couldn’t forgive themselves for doing that to you but they knew that it was the only way for you to survive and carry on their legacy “ he explained  and Josh found  his eyes wet with tears.

He wanted so badly to meet them. He held no grudges for their actions because he understood that life came with so many difficult choices.

 At least   he has finally met his family, he should   be contented.

 “So back to the main topic of discission. Our father was not a very perfect person. He got another woman pregnant   who later gave birth to a boy after you were born. He was forced to accept the responsibilities to raise him up. The thing now is that our step brother wants to take over the family businesses as the heir. He is claiming to be the eldest son of our father because of your absence”.
