“Yes. If they were burnt, we would have seen the corpses of three people on that spot,” another person confirmed.

The soldier who wished to take his life calmed down and looked around. He released his rescuer and asked, “Where is he, then?”

“We will search for him. He may be fine,” his colleagues said one after the other.

Notwithstanding, after the young soldiers left, the two brigadiers were despondent.

“How can I return without them?” Brig. Dale cried out.

Apart from him, no other person knew that the Third in Command of Canterbury was with them and a big loss to his country. Meanwhile, the reporter informed the Head of State of the latest and they were heartbroken. Immediately, the minister stopped reporting.

“Gosh!” The disappointed soldiers exclaimed in anguish and the minister got up.

“I will meet them,” he informed the rest even though he did not know what to do when he got there.

The others were overburdened and could not stop him but one of them advised him, “Be careful.”
