I woke up with the excitement of last night still buzzing through my body. I tried to hold back my smile, but it was impossible.

Zoe was happy, and that meant I was happy too. That was all that mattered.

“What’s got you smiling so early in the morning?” Jessica’s voice filled the room as she walked in, her own smile just as radiant.

She was the only person I felt comfortable seeing me without makeup, without the mask I usually wore. Through her eyes, I could see the beauty my face held, even when I struggled to see it myself.

“Let’s just say I slept well.” I winked at her, earning a laugh as she moved toward my dresser, sifting through my clothes. It looked like she had decided she would be picking my outfit for the day.

“Oh, I almost forgot,” she added casually. “Williams stopped me on the way here. He said he wants to have breakfast with you.”

My heart skipped a beat. I tried to keep my expression neutral, but the excitement that surged through me was hard to suppress.

“What? Why?”

WILLIAMS“She liked it so much. You should have seen the way her whole face lit up the moment she saw the gesture,” Drew said as soon as we met up to walk to the combat field together.I nodded, keeping my face straight and my gaze fixed ahead.I shouldn’t care. My mind shouldn’t be filled with thoughts of how her face looked when she saw the field that was now hers. But deep down, I wanted to know.“Why didn’t you just give her the gift yourself? Trust me, she would have appreciated it more if it had come from you.” Drew’s words were casual, but they struck something inside me.I thought back to the field nights we had shared, the constant worry gnawing at me whenever she was there. It was dangerous, too dangerous for her. That was why I made this decision, why I went ahead and did it without thinking about that part of me that wanted nothing to do with her.But this past week, I had learned too much about her to ignore. She was kind, soft-hearted, and gentle in the way she interacte

We rushed into the head office where my father, his beta, and the council sat around a large wooden table, deep in discussion. The heavy atmosphere in the room pressed down on me the moment Andrew and I stepped inside.I forced myself to calm my racing heart as I took in the serious expressions around me. My father’s sharp eyes found mine immediately.“What is the matter?” I asked through the mind link, my tone firm.He exhaled, rubbing his temples before speaking aloud for everyone to hear. “You both need to sit down for this.”That alone made my pulse quicken. A sudden meeting like this only meant one thing, trouble.Andrew and I moved to the empty seats opposite my father. I kept my posture straight, my expression unreadable, though unease churned in my stomach.“The representatives from the New Haven pack have returned our peace offerings. The pack had been eerily quiet since the Alpha left. It felt as if the entire territory had turned into a graveyard overnight. No one spoke loudly, no one laughed, and the air was thick with tension. Fear lingered in every corner, creeping into our bones as we waited for news. The worst part was not knowing what would happen next.“I don’t know why we’re all so scared,” Jessica said one morning as we stood in the kitchen. • The Rejected Princess Elodie   CHAPTER 1

CHAPTER ONEFrom the solitude of my room, I could hear the festivities below—a celebration that seemed to shake the very walls of the house—my sister's 18 years celebration. The scent of freshly cut flowers wafted through the air, mingling with the laughter that rose like a tide from the guests. The vibrant life of the party was a world apart from my own shadowed existence.I stepped away from the window, catching my reflection in the tall mirror. The blue gown I had chosen hung like a whisper of silk against my skin, its rich hue shimmering under the soft light. Yet it wasn't the gown that held my gaze—it was the mask that covered the scar that twisted across my cheek, a cruel mark that had stolen my place in this family.Beneath the mask, the scar itched, as if it resented its confinement. My fingers trembled as they traced the mask’s edges, feeling the roughness of the scar underneath. The mask was a barrier, both physical and emotional, that I had worn for so long it felt like a p

The day was already bright as I sat at my window and looked outside the house as I could feel the commotion that was happening around, it seemed the whole pack members were running around, and I could hear my mother Violet shouting about something.Getting out of there, I walked outside to their side of the house and truthfully, everyone was busy doing something.“Did you mind link her? She has shut me off completely.” The Luna my mother said with so much fear quivering in her mouth as she looked at me and eyed me down before looking away.I dragged someone close and asked her what was happening.“Your sister is missing, if you want to know, then that is what happened.” Mother answered me with a sharp resort and then kept moving.Missing? How is that possible? The last time I saw her was two days ago when she came into my room and instead of talking about why she came, she instead was teasing me about what happened at her party two weeks ago.I have tried to move on and accept my fate

WILLIAMSWhat is she doing here?I asked myself as her scent was too much for me to withstand, and I was inhaling them all to myself trying to force it out of me but all to no avail.'She is here, our mate, I can smell her.' Ian, my wolf jumped happily as the scent kept getting stronger and too intense for us.‘She is no longer our mate remember? We rejected her.’ I reminded him if he had forgotten, he better not cause it was the truth.‘You rejected her and not me, you did the rejection and I did not accept it.’ He growled so loudly to my ears that I pushed him far back out of my mind and looked at them. She stood right there at the corner of the living room with her eyes bugged out as she looked at me, shock filled those huge eyeballs of hers. There is something so different about her, maybe it was the way that there was no mask on her face and she looks exceptionally beautiful that I felt my feet dragging me towards her. “Liam, come see your bride and her family that I have been t

The next few days, I spent avoiding him. If he was in a room with me, I refused to raise my head. I would look at everyone, anyone, but never him. On the road, I’d turn my face away and pretend not to see him. This was my only way of surviving here without my heart being trampled on. Because I knew if I cared too much, much more than I should be caring then I would be wounded so much. I was tired. Tired of being the one to pour out all the love inside me while the other person acted like I didn’t exist. Ignoring him was the only way to protect myself. By the fifth day, I think he’d had enough. It was just the two of us in the dining room. As I ate, I hummed my favorite song, nodding to the rhythm in my head. I could feel his eyes on me, hot and heavy, but I didn’t move. I didn’t even flinch. “What do you think you’re doing?” Zoe’s voice cut through my thoughts. She was frustrated, like she always was these days. I ignored her, smiling faintly to myself. For once, I wasn’t liv

  • The Rejected Princess Elodie   CHAPTER 10

I couldn’t sleep last night, no matter how much I tried. Tossing and turning, I finally gave up when it became clear that sleep wouldn’t come. The weight on my chest was suffocating, and I knew only one thing could ease it. My wolf needed to run.I slipped out of the house into the quiet night, heading toward the secluded field I had visited countless times. It was as empty as I expected. I stood still, letting my senses expand, searching for the faintest scent of another. When I was certain I was alone, I walked to the shelter of a large tree. She stirred within me as I slipped out of my dress, standing naked under the cool moonlight. My skin tingles with anticipation as I let her take control. The shift began, my bones snapping and reshaping with familiar but fleeting pain. And then, she emerged—Zoe, my wolf. She was beautiful, a sight that stole breaths. White as fresh snow, her fur was flawless, untouched by even the faintest hint of another color. She was everything I lacked: gra

I wasn’t the only one shocked by my sister’s sudden appearance. What was she doing here? Not like it’s unlike her not to come out unexpectedly to a place, that was Elsa for you.The room stilled as she made her entrance, utterly unfazed by the weight of the gazes that followed her. Elsa bounded in like she owned the place, her eyes scanning the hall before locking onto me. A wide grin spread across her face as she hurried over, her movements brimming with exaggerated enthusiasm. Because there is absolutely no way she can be that excited to see me, that isn’t the way she is.My back stiffened instinctively. Elsa never brought good news—only chaos.“Oh my, how much I’ve missed my big sister!” she exclaimed, her voice honeyed with fake warmth. Her eyes sparkled, but there was no joy behind them, only calculation, the way she always looked when she was up to something. We stood there, locked in an unbearable silence as the entire hall watched. My pulse raced, my mind scrambling for an a
