Lilliana’s POV

The sound of a soft knock on my door jolted me out of my thoughts and at first I’d thought that Jenna was back to hurl more insults at me but I knew that if she was the one, she wouldn’t have knocked.

Could it be Nikolai? What does he want with me?

The sound came again and I had no other choice but to open the door to check who it was.

“Andre!” I yelled in a cheery voice as I threw myself at him. It’s been a while since I last saw him and I just couldn’t explain the relief that washed over me.

“Where have you been?” I asked, tears welling up in my eyes as I held him even tighter, “I know I was mad at you but you shouldn’t have left me all by myself.” I added.

Andre laughed as he pulled me away from him and leaned into me, “I’m sorry, I had a lot to do and you should know that I never would’ve left you all by yourself.” He said and I smiled.

“I’m sorry,” he apologized again and I didn’t need a soothsayer to tell me what he was apologizing for.
