Hardulph did not want to spend the night as Mirabel pleaded, he had plans already. Plans he didn't want Mirabel to encroach into.

It is true he agreed to get close to Mirabel because of Connor's plea to him and their relationship too. But he had other responsibilities in his pack of which his mate was the top list.

Hardulph already made plans to spend the night with his mate who has been patient with him all the while he spent time with Mirabel. He felt like she needed to be rewarded at least for being an understanding mate but now Mirabel was requesting he stays with her.
