An unwelcome guest

Connor and Carolina exchanged glances when they saw Mirabel smiling at them. Carolina was most shocked because, for some time, she thought Mirabel had died but she was right before them, and that took her aback.

Connor's anger seemed to double with the fact that Mirabel showed up before them again after disappearing for days without traces. He knew at once that her sudden appearance was not in vain, something must be attached to it but most especially, Connor wondered where she had run off to.
