I sat tucked into Andy's large bed as she slept off the overwhelmingly drained emotions of the afternoon, and I just stared into space deep in thought. If the so-called master now knew my secret, I was going to have to find a way to protect my child and my newfound friend. I looked at Andy as she slept. She was still so pale, and her eyes puffy from the tears. Why would the moon goddess pair her with someone like the master? A mate was meant to be a gift, the moon Goddesses gift to her shifter children. Each mate was meant to make the other stronger and better, was Andy meant to soften the harshness of the master but if so, he was destroying her.
