The day was long, and it seemed like nothing was going to go right for Doctor Kit Jones. When it was finally over, she drove home, enjoying the peace in the car. Inside, the building was pandemonium as they walked in together. The staff was off to one side, and the police and investigators were asking questions. She was watching as a pair of young doctors were going over the woman. It seemed that they were shocked and puzzled at what they were finding. The nurses were hovering and trying to interject their thoughts on everything the doctors were finding. As if this was a routine event, and nothing was really wrong. “That was perfect.” The DA said to her as they walked back to the room where the witnesses were being held. She had almost forgot about the things that went on before she took the stand. She was riding a high of knowing that she probably sealed the deal on Cindy’s conviction with her testimony. She was smiling when she entered the room. It was beyond a smile, though. It was that she was beaming in a way. She knew after that Cindy would be put away for the longest possible time. She looked around the room they would be in most of the day and saw that a few of the other families were there along with the young infants with them. It seemed no one was going to take a chance with the welfare of the babies in question. Six half-siblings that were born a week apart and most of them on the same day. This was the end result of the actions taken by one delusional woman. Kit had to sit down as she looked around and saw them all in one place except for theirs who were at home being guarded by an entire team of special forces.“Where are your two?” One woman asked. As expected, Cindy did not take the deal that was offered. She said she thought a jury would understand her plight with everything in her life and why she had to do what she did. Kit was beyond angry about the whole thing, knowing they would all be dragged through a trail and have to relive everything again. Now they had, even more, to deal with, with the upcoming trial. The prosecution already had everything ready because of the trail before.
