Chapter 2

Author’s POV:

Addressing Jerry’s mother as aunty, Mack said hello and asked her if Jerry was home. She replied in the affirmative and added “I am a bit surprised that you have come this long to visit Jerry. Come on dears, get in.” Ron and Mack got in and asked “where is Jerry, aunt?” Then Jerry’s mother told them “Go upstairs honey, he is a bit sick that’s why he could not go to school today. He is taking rest in his room.” 

Then went to Jerry’s room and saw that he was laying on his bed. Seeing them he sat on the bed and said to them “hello, guys. It is good to see you.” “Same here. We were missing you in school”, said Ron. “Did you really visit there?” surprisingly asked Mack. “What are you talking about?”, asked Ron. Jerry shook his head as yes. “Do not talk about this now. Mom can hear this” Jerry replied to Mack. “But what is this all about?”, Ron asked again. Mack whispered that Jerry was supposed to visit the hill to see the lake. Ron was shocked to hear that and asked them that was that the reason for his sickness.

In the meantime, Jerry’s mom entered into the room with three glasses of juice in her hand on a tray. “Have some drink, dear. I hope he will be able to go to school tomorrow. You guys don’t worry about it”, aunt said to them. After saying these she left the room. He was feeling better that time. Then they started playing video games.

Next day at school:

Ron, Jerry and Mack were sitting in the spectator area of the basketball ground. “I went up to the hill and staring at the lake to catch some movement. The time was close to evening, in the mean time I saw some movement in the water and suddenly I heard a sound. It was horrible. It was like some ferocious kind of animal was shouting for life. Hearing that I started running back to our house. I cannot remember the rest. I had lost my consciousness. When I got my conscious back, I found myself laying on my bed in my room. I heard from my mom that someone found me laying on a side of the road and took me home.” Jerry was explaining all these. “I still cannot believe you went there and these sorts of things happened,” said Ron. He also added with exclamation that how the man knew you and your house! “I don’t know and I am also thinking about that” replied Jerry. “I am thinking about the connection between the sound and the man who carried you home” told Mack to them and added “I can smell a great adventure here”. “What do you mean by this” asked Jerry. He also asked Mack “are you talking about to visit the place again? I do not think it will be a good idea”. Ron said to Jerry “you are frightened still, right?”. “Nooo, I am not”, replied Jerry.

Inspector Isaac entered into a grocery store. Jerry’s mother was the owner of that grocery store. Seeing him she welcomed the inspector saying “Hello, inspector”. The inspector asked “how are you Lusie, is everything going good”? “Yeah, doing just fine, thank you” replied Lusie. “Good to hear that. What about your son, Jerry”, asked the inspector? “He is good now, have gone to school”. “He is a brave guy; it is good for him to stay with friends rather than staying home alone. And one thing that I want to inform you that we are searching for that man. Hopefully, he can explain the matter. And also, if you have anything that you want to tell me about this matter.” said Isaac, the inspector. Lusie thanked the inspector and said that the man looked really polite. “Thank you, for your information, Lusie. If you want to talk further, you can call me anytime. See you”. Saying that the inspector left the house.

All three friends are in Mack’s house. They were playing dart and were talking loudly. “Hey guys, summer vacation is near,” said Mack. “Yeah. Do you have any specific plan on that vacation? asked Ron. “Yeah, a silly one, a silly one to disclose the mystery of the lake” replied Jerry. He also added “This is not a silly tour rather it is a stupid plan to spoil our vacation. You know few death incidents happed due to the lake and also how far we can go!” Ron’s dart hit the center of the dart board and he shouted yah! “What nonsense are you talking about? I do not want to spoil my vacation with this. I have a plan to visit some place in this vacation with my family. We can discover the place later”, Ron continuously kept saying this to them. Jerry and Mack locked at each other surprisingly. “How can you go there. We were supposed to enjoy this vacation all together, can’t you remember?”, Jerry asked Ron. Mack agreed to Jerry and said, “Yes this is the thing.” Ron stayed silent even after hearing all those from them.

Deisy with her friends having were at Belley’s birthday party. There was playing rock music and some were dancing and some were enjoying the moment. Zen entered there and came to Belley and handed over the gift saying happy birthday to you, Belley. Belley thanked him and received the gift. Deisy went to them and said “hello, Zen”. “Hello, dear” replied Zen. They danced and quite enjoyed the party.

Dore bell rang. There was a sound of opening a door. “You are late” mother said to Deisy. “Sorry, mom”, saying that Deisy came in and went upstairs to go to her bed. “You should not do so late dear” mom added and went to her own room. There Mickle asked Jenifer “what happened”. “Your beloved daughter again late today”, replied Jenifer. “Come on honey, it was her best friend’s birthday”. “Yeah, as if I did not know that”, Jenifer angrily said that. 

Deisy got herself freshen and then went to bed. She checked her phone there was few messages in a group chat. There mainly Belley had thanked all her friends to attend her birthday party and added “it was really good to have all of you guys.” Seeing those messages, she replied her with best wishes and locked the phone.
