Pearl’s POV
I shifted my gaze back to Alexander, who flashed a gentle smile at me. "You did really well," Alexander complimented, stepping forward and extending his hand. "Thank you, Alex," I whispered, smiling back. I placed my hand into his, and shakily stood up. For the first time, I felt a bit embarrassed about my nakedness. "Hey, are you a maid? Get her clothes," He ordered, snapping his fingers at Hazel. I glanced at Hazel, and her face paled at his command. "What?" She gasped. "I said, get her clothes," He repeated, pointing at them. Hazel shot a pleading glance at Carlson, but he couldn't even defend her at that moment. It was oddly satisfying to see them so powerless. Without a choice, She went to get my clothes. My lips curled into a smile as I returned my gaze to Alexander. "I haven't seen you since our college days," He said, studying me with those intense sapphire-blue eyes. "You've grown more beautiful over the years." "You two know each other?" Carlson said, his voice laced with shock. "From college??" "Exactly," Alexander replied. "Pearl used to be my classmate. She was so intelligent and beautiful..." He glanced back at me and asked, "So, how have you been since college? Apart from being a Luna..." "Uh, I haven't done much..." I trailed off. "But it's good seeing you. I have heard a lot about you since you left college, and—" "Your clothes!" Hazel spat, shoving my clothes into my hands. "Your hair used to be so dark, it's lighter now..." He noticed, reaching for my hair. "Hm!" Carlson coughed, jealousy visible in his eyes. "Alpha Alexander, I want you to meet...Hazel." Hazel moved to Carlson's side, smiling sheepishly. "For what?" Alexander asked, staring at her like she was beneath notice. "How is her presence important to our meeting?" His question was so mocking, that I almost chuckled. "Err...she's the love of my life..." Carlson introduced her, his voice shaky. "That is none of my business." Alexander snapped, visibly irritated. "It's disrespectful to show your mistress to me instead of your Luna...I never thought you were this type of person, Alpha Carlson..." "I think I might start reconsidering our future partnership," Alexander added, turning away. Carlson quickly shoved Hazel aside, and rushed to his side. "Alpha Alexander, I apologize for my indiscretion," He stammered, clearly embarrassed. "Whatever. Next time, don't make the mistake of showing me such worthless sights," Alexander's cold voice sliced through the air, leaving Carson humiliated. I couldn't help but let a small giggle escape. "I'm sorry. Let's go somewhere else to discuss things," Carlson urged. "ITY," Alexander muttered to me, before walking away. Carlson and Hazel exchanged confused gazes, and then Carlson glared at me before leaving with Alexander. Meanwhile, ITY meant 'I'll text you'. It was one of our college’s slang. I couldn't believe that he still remembered that. As Alexander left, my eyes followed his broad back, hoping that he would really text me. He was my only chance at freedom from Carlson's control. "You must have seduced him in college, right? That’s why he's so supportive of a shameless bitch like you!" Hazel spat, her voice thick with spite and jealousy. "What are you going to do after this? Seduce him again and try to claim him now that Carlson is no longer yours? Will you warm his bed like—" "Enough!" I snapped. "My connection to Alexander is none of your business. And in case you've forgotten, you're the only whore here." Before she could say anything, I slipped into my clothes and left the training grounds. ___ Later that night, I received a text from Alexander. He sent me a location to meet him. Without hesitation, I snuck out of the pack house and went to the spot. When I arrived, he rushed over and pulled me into a tight hug. I gasped as his firm and big hands wrapped around me. "I missed you," He whispered softly. "All these years, I haven't stopped thinking about you. Not a moment passed where I didn't think how different life would be if we ended up together." "Alex, I'm still mated to Carlson," I reminded him, sighing. "It doesn't matter," He whispered close to my ear. "He doesn't love you." I knew he meant no harm, but I wasn't here for a reunion. I had come to ask for help, nothing more. Slowly, I pulled away from the hug, stepping back. "I'm here to ask for your help," I said, getting straight to the point. "What do you need my help with?" He asked softly. "I want to leave Carlson, but I can't do that without taking my moon pearl," I replied, seeing his confused look. "I have been disabled since childhood, and if not for that moon pearl, I wouldn't be able to walk." He looked shocked at my words, but asked, "Why is Carlson withholding it?" "Because my moon pearl sucks in negative energy. It helped lift a curse in his pack, and he has held onto it since," I sighed. "That bastard," He cursed. "I need your help to get it back, and escape from him. I can't stay with someone like him any longer. Please help me," I pleaded, reaching out to hold his hand. He squeezed my hand lightly, a warm smile appearing on his lips. "I'll help you." He agreed without a thought. "Thank you!" I beamed. "Thank you so much, Alexander. I'm so grateful for your help." "But there's one condition," He said, halting my happiness. I suddenly wondered what he wanted. Did he want me to sleep with him? "I want you to be my Luna for a year," He said, cupping my face and bringing it closer to his. "Your pearl will stay in my pack during that time." "Is your pack in trouble?" I asked, curious and shocked. This condition was unexpected. "When we sign the marriage contract, you'll find out," He replied, his words carrying a hidden meaning that made me both curious and hesitant. "So, will you be my Luna for a year...Pearl?”Pearl's POV"Argh," I winced as the pain in my stomach intensified. It felt like hot lava had been spilled inside me, burning through my insides. Beads of sweat dripped down my body, soaking the sheets."It hurts," I mumbled, clutching my stomach and rolling onto my side. But it wasn't just physical pain. My entire body felt like it was on fire. "What are you doing?"A sharp pain shot through me, forcing a gasp from my lips."Oh moon goddess, " I whimpered as the agony became unbearable. How could my husband be doing this? Pearl’s POVEverything felt so warm, yet discomforting. The darkness I was pulled into slowly began to dissipate. My heavy eyelids fluttered open, revealing a blurry figure beside me. "Uh..." She inquired, her voice laced with concern.I wanted to ask how I ended up here, but then I recalled fainting from the mate burn. Carlson and I had been mated and married for three years. In that time, I did all I could do to please him, acting as the perfect Luna, so he could look at me with love.I even went as far as giving him an important possession I received from my dead parents just to save his Pack which in turn caused my wolf to become useless. I could never try to shift in public because I would be ridiculed. But all that was for nothing. I was cast aside like a trash can. I was so lost in thought but

Just reject and divorce me." I demanded. "I am also taking my possession, my Moon Pearl with me." His eyes filled with terror at my words. "No, I can't let you take it!" He refused. "That pearl stays with me!"He was so concerned about the pearl because it had saved his pack. Before I met Carlson, I had a Moon Pearl that sucked in bad energy. It was a gem passed down from my ancestors, a crucial part of me. Without that Pearl, I would never be able to survive, my wolf was already useless without it. If I stayed too long away from it, it would be a disaster. When Carlson and I became mates, I discovered that a curse had been p
