Chapter 229: Go

Dicken’s eyes returned to how they were, but the pungent scent of blood lingered on his palm. He stroked my cheek tenderly, carefully touching my skin as if everything that had happened an instant ago was a figment of my imagination. It was the blood that reminded me it was all reality—including the fact that he had almost forced himself on me.

I glanced at the shades that had fallen on the floor and picked them up before straightening my clothes. After a glance at Dicken, I swiftly opened the cabin door and ran out there, sneaking into the banquet hall on the first floor. Soon, I saw Dicken entering in his new appearance without anyone sensing his presence, and making a beeline towards me.

I kept hiding here and there at the banquet. It was fortunate that everyone else had had too much to drink and didn’t notice me at all, and I eventually hid in the ladies’ room. But even as I locked the door, it was opened soon enough as Dicken followed me inside.
