Chapter 236: Self-Sacrifice

“You’re going to die.” Dicken narrowed his long, wide eyes, his gaze as sharp as a bloodthirsty blade.

Even so, I didn’t avoid his menacing glare and instead met it directly, even shrugging nonchalantly as I said, “I’m prepared and willing to do it for you.”

Dicken was clearly stunned, and he looked at me in surprise. I had a feeling that he did not expect me to be willing to sacrifice myself for him, or perhaps he simply did not want to ask so much. For my part, I had no idea if I should speak such words of passion so directly, but it was how I sincerely felt.

Dicken stared at me for a long time without saying a thing, and it seemed to take him a lot of strength to look away. However, he did not seem keen on responding to my declaration, and merely looked out beyond the window to the boundless sea. “When I return to the land of my tribe, I would be able to get to the Nest and reforge my body.”

“Reforge?”

“Yes. I’ll sever my flesh from my spirit, and build a new body for myself.”
