Chapter Two

Ari was sitting on her bed, playing with her big teddy bear with things running on her mind. 

"Dad always runs away from my questions, how will I ask him and get the answer from him? Should I ask him now? No! We are still in the afternoon and he may run away. I've known nanny Bethel since I'm a kid. Should I ask her instead? Of course not! She is also a human. What's the best way to ask my dad?" She kept asking herself different questions but she couldn't get a reply to any of them. 

She picked her phone and dialed a number, and after a few seconds the person picked the call and turned out to be Hazel, her best friend.

"Babe, I wanna ask my dad about what we discussed in the afternoon but I find it difficult to ask him as he may run away" she asked 

"Ask him when you think it's already late and he wouldn't be chanced to go out. Don't forget to give me the feedback." Hazel replied and she disconnected the call.

It's evening already. Kingsley and his only daughter, Ari. They were sitting waiting patiently as nanny Bethel was serving them dinner. 

"Heard you went to the palace today and I think the meeting didn't go as usual" Ari asked her dad

"I wonder if his majesty is really from this planet. I hope I won't get on his nerves in day, as it's gonna be the end of me" Kingsley said and signed

"It's okay dad, let's eat" Ari said

"Oh, I also have a question to ask after this meal" she added

"About king Jayden?" Kingsley asked but Ari only shook her head which simplified No.

Kingsley stared at her with curiosity written all over his face as he knows Ari's question doesn't only come rigidly but with seriousness too. He is getting tense already which made him lose appetite immediately.

"I'm full, I'll be waiting for you in my study room" he said and left for his library.

"Thanks for the meal nanny" Ari said as she finished eating.

"I hope you enjoyed it?" Nanny asked

"Sure nanny, you are the best cook in the whole world" Ari said and gave her nanny thumbs up which made both of them laugh.

"Ehm Ari, hope what you wanna ask your father is not much? I can see he is tensed already" nanny asked with curiosity while Ari only laughed in return

"Chill nanny, I'm gonna ask only one question tonight and it's something simple" she replied and left in hurry before her nanny could say any other thing

Kingsley study room

Different thoughts filled his mind as he sat down on his chair, crossing his legs on the table in front of him and folded his two palms on his tummy. He didn't know what Ari wanted but he already felt it's not something good.

"Dad" Ari shouted from outside before she entered the study room

"Dad, you know I love you right" she said and her father smiled

"Have I ever tell you I cherished you most in this world" she added while her father laughed more

"I know baby, now go straight to the point" her Father replied

"Promise me to tell me the truth dad" she continued

"Sure baby, I promise to tell you nothing but the truth my princess" Kingsley replied which triggered Ari to ask the question.

"Dad, I was mocked today and I really wished it doesn't happen again" Ari started

"Hmmmmm" her dad took a deep breath

"I was mocked and my paternity was doubted. I was asked the reason I'm a human while my dad is a wolf" she added

"And I would like to know the reason dad, remember you promised to tell me nothing but the truth" she continued.

"Ari, my princess" her dad started

"You have nothing to worry about, your late mom was a human and it's very normal when a normal human being get married to a wolf to give birth to human ask kids, worry not princess,you are truly my daughter" her dad replied her gently

"Okay dad, thanks for been there always" Ari said and pecked her dad

"Anytime princess, go and sleep" her dad replied

"Goodnight dad, I love you" she said and left the library to her room

Immediately Ari left for her room, Bethel entered

"I heard the conversation between both of you, you managed to convince her today, will you be able to do that next time?" She asked worriedly

"Why don't you tell her the truth" she added, then Kingsley signed

"She won't be able to handle the truth now and it may damage her, but I believe she will know the truth when she is mature enough to handle it" Kingsley replied

 King Jayden's Palace

Pearl drove roughly to the palace which caused some palace workers to run away immediately her car was sighted. Princess Pearl is Jayden's only sister. She was as annoyingly as Jayden, some of the palace workers even prayed to face the king's wrath then hers. She was given the name " psychopath" by people in and outside the palace.

She is a very tall and beautiful lady with different powers. She is 19 years old and a first year student of Star College. She has been feared by all her friends and enemies in that school as she can do and undo at the same time but she fears her brother most and always tries her best not to get on his bad side.

She drove roughly into the palace and almost knocked a maid down. She packed her car, then a guard rushed to her side to open the car door for her.

"Hey,open your eyes clearly next time" she told the maid who only bowed down in reply, though she was shaking.

Another maid collected her bag from the guard and maids won't stop bowing as she walked past them while going into her room.

"What the hell did you drive just now" king Jayden asked her as he was waiting for her on the staircase

"W- wh-what do you mean? '' she asked fearfully but she could feel her brother staring at her codly even with his mask on, it's still obvious.

"Don't let me repeat myself" Jayden said coldly

"I'm sorry your majesty, it won't happen again next time" she bowed and was about to leave when the cold voice of her brother stopped her

"I didn't ask you to go yet" he said

"Follow me" he added while Pearl followed her like a puppy. Though her brother cannot hurt her as he cherished her, he doesn't mind scolding her anytime she is wrong, even if she does get some punishment sometimes.

After a few minutes of following her brother which seemed like forever to her, they got to the balcony, then king Jayden sat on one of the well arranged chairs that was there and ordered her to also take her seat.

"Now, let's gist like a sibling" King Jayden said

"For real?" She asked astonishing

But of course, her brother only nodded once as her reply

"Wow!" She exclaimed

"I want you to tell me the difference between life inside the palace and outside the palace" he asked calmly

"Hum" Pearl hummed before she answered

"Life outside the palace is extremely different from inside the palace. You only see the view if you stare from here. Some of the differences are; different forms of dressings from both male and females, there is no club inside the palace but there are clubs out there where lots of fun is, school is another thing. Though you schooled inside the palace, the tutors lectured only you but different people from different packs came here often to the pack's college to study. Also, cars may come and leave the palace but not anywhere closer to that of outside the palace. Different cars, both old and new are there on the roads. Your majesty, life inside the palace is nothing to compare to life outside the palace. I just wish you could go outside the palace one day to have a look at it" she concluded, then king Jayden took a deep breath 

"Okay, so how was school today? Hope no trouble was created? He asked

" I'm a cool girl, your majesty, and of course boundaries must be created for being a princess. I'm famished, talk to you later" she said and rushed out.

King Jayden was left with different thoughts and multiple imagination on how outside the palace will be.

"It's a pity we can't go there to have a look" Anthony, his wolf said from his head

"Do you wanna see what it looks like?" Jayden asked him

"Of course, I'll be glad to go and also have some fun as Pearl stated." Anthony replied

"I don't trust you as you may try to take control and we may regret it later" Jayden told him

"Worry not, I'll definitely be on my best behavior, I promise" Anthony replied while Jayden chuckled and knocked him out.
