107 Paparazzi

Becca.

“Oh my Saints of heavens. The paparazzi that you hated.” I murmured guiltily even though I’m aware it takes two to tangle.

“I have come to realise they do more harm than good, Becca. That’s why I avoid them.” He explained with a little frost in his voice and I felt some sympathy within my chest. It is not easy being a wealthy powerful man, yet unable to live your life the way you want it.

“Well, let’s be glad we are safe this time around. Isn’t it?” I tried to console him in the little way I could.

“I am not ashamed to be with you, Becca. I will just hate for your children to be the butt of anyone’s jokes or malice. That’s all.” He explained gently and I felt a soothing relief.

I know I would not admit to myself that a part of me had thought one of the reasons he would not want the paparazzi barging on us was because he was not proud of me.

It’s ironic that the man who is unconnected to my kids in any way that’s substantial is the one putting them first in our journey of
