113 An Innocent

If not for the fact that she is a mother, I would think Becca Summer is a pure innocent.

“Are you angry?” Her voice brought me out of my retrospection and I lowered my head to look inquisitively at her.

“Angry?” I could not understand her meaning.

“It’s obvious you are disturbed, so I want to know if you are angry because I said I don’t know how to dance yet brought us here.” She elaborated softly and I swore softly.

“It is true I am angry.” I confessed slowly and I saw the sudden hurt come into her eyes.

“But not in the way you think. I am angry at that man who found you special enough to impregnate but did not have the courtesy to court you and show you the little pleasures that matter.” I explained, unwilling to let her think she was the problem.

It’s a fact that I can’t say I understand the strange expression that flashed through her expressive eyes and if she understood my meaning, she did not show it.

She only gave me that intense look of her coffee brown eyes before
