I had put on three dresses and I’d walk out and Mack and Frank would immediately tell me to go back and change. It was getting quite infuriating. On my fourth outfit, I decided on a simple outfit instead of something that would make Mack and Frank disapprove of my outfit. Again. I picked out ripped blue jeans with an off-the-shoulder black shirt with some Adidas sneakers. As for my hair, I grabbed an orange scrunchie, put it in my hair, and did a high ponytail.

“How about this outfit?” I asked, walking towards Mack and Frank and doing a little twirl for them.

They both nodded, finally pleased with my outfit. Thank goodness, I have no clue what else I would wear. I have to be careful about which outfits to wear. Especially in this house. Any clothes that I like to wear are now in the junkyard. And with Mack and Frank, they’re extremely careful with the things I wear. And sometimes it sucks. But it’s different when events arrive.

Why?

No clue. I don’t get told a ton of things in this house. And I know everyone is keeping something from me. They whisper certain things when I’m around. They walk on eggshells with me.

“Good, let’s go pick up Thea,” I said, pushing past them and running to the car. I gave Mack the address and once we arrived at her house, I saw her walking out in a cute black jumpsuit with black high heels. Once she slid into the car. I looked at her nails. She had gotten acrylic nails. They were simple and short. All of her nails had a thin layer of white nail polish on them. Her hair was up in a cute black bow while the rest of her hair was down.

“You look amazing, Thea!” I squealed.

“I think you look astonishing in that outfit.” She

squealed back.

We arrived at my parents’ club and walked in immediately. They recognized me and my bodyguards. Sometimes having a parent owning a club is nice. I don’t have to wait in line.

Once we entered the club, Thea and I stared in amazement at how big the room was and how many people were in there. The club had lots of seats and a massive bar with about 5 people working on drinks. The Dj is playing a song from The Fast and the Furious. I recognized the song from one movie that Thea made me watch. And let me say that Roman is one of my favorites.

“I’m getting me a Bloody Mary, are you coming?” Thea shouted. I could barely hear her.

“I’m gonna get me a drink. You wanna come?” I asked.

She rolled her eyes at me.

“That sounds like a splendid plan!” She yelled.

Did I miss something when she rolled her eyes? Maybe it was something she said. It’s not my fault that the music is so loud.

Once we downed a few drinks, we headed to the dance floor. Immediately, someone went up to Thea and was dancing with her. She turned and smiled at me.

“He’s hot!” Thea mouthed.

I laughed at her and turned around and bumped into someone. I split whatever drink all over them. Hopefully, they won’t get super upset about it. I’m not in the mood to put up with their attitude tonight. Especially after how many drinks I’ve had. And they are the stronger drinks too.

Immediately, my eyes went wide. My eyes dropped to the floor and my face was getting hot from how embarrassed I was. “I’m so sorry, sir,” I said.

“It’s all right. It was an accident.” He chuckled. His voice was not deep at all. Well, it was only slightly deep. I looked up at him. His hair was a dark black color, well, at least in the lighting he was standing in. His eyes seemed like they were light blue. They seemed to have a hint of gray around his pupil. He seemed to be around 6’4. His suit seemed expensive, like one that was worth thousands and thousands of dollars. It was a black suit with a black tie and his shirt was white. Well, it was white a few seconds ago. His shoes were also black, along with the pants that seemed too big on him. But maybe that’s just what he wanted. Or maybe he’s just an idiot like everyone else in this club.

“I feel awful! Can I please buy you a drink?” I asked. My eyes wouldn’t leave his gaze. I mean, he’s very attractive.

“Only if I can get your name.” He smirked. His smirk was even hot.

“It’s Melody,” I responded.

“I’m Liam.” He replied.

“What kind of drink do you want?” I asked as I walked towards the bar.

“Bourbon.”

“Of course it is.” I chuckled. He didn’t acknowledge my comment, which could mean two things.

One, he didn’t hear me, or two, he’s looking at my ass. So I swayed my hips a little more, matching the beat of the song.

I asked the bartender for a bourbon and a Piña Colada. Once the bartender guy gave me the drinks, I turned to hand the man his drink, but he was nowhere to be found. I looked around for him but didn’t see him anywhere.

“MELODY!” a voice shouted. I turned to see that Thea had already gotten drunk and was tripping all over herself. She kept stumbling into people around here. She even stole someone’s drink. I checked my phone and we’d only been there for an hour and a half.

“I think it’s time to go,” I said, racing over to her. I grabbed Mack and Frank, and once we got near the car, Thea started puking all over the ground. It was a good thing I pulled her hair back, making sure none got in her hair.

Once she was done, we got into the car and I walked her to her door and helped her to bed. Once I did that, I walked back outside and back into the car and we headed home.

-----

After I had told Wilson to get my men in the conference room, I told them what I had planned and what each of their roles was. Some weren’t happy with the jobs I gave them. But I reassured them that their “talents” needed to be elsewhere. The truth, though, is someone may have gotten on my nerves. This is one way I could get them to listen to me next time when I give orders. I did, however, change my mind about someone else grabbing her. Instead, I decided I was going in and I was the one to grab her. The best thing was how confused Wilson looked. His eyebrows were all scrunched together while his jaw was hanging out.

I’m pretty sure everyone here thinks he’s a complete idiot. I know I would.

Once I got into my tuxedo, I had Anthony drive me towards the club that I figured Mack and Frank would take her and her friend to. It was the one her father loved the most. And was the closest to their house.

I snuck in, trying to avoid any contact with the men in her father’s mafia so I wouldn’t get myself killed. I saw her and her friend walk in and stare in amazement at the club. Must’ve been there first time in a club. I figured the one that wasn’t in the jumpsuit was her friend. The other girl must’ve been her. I kept my eye on her as she chugged down her drink and watched as she and her friend headed to the dance floor. I noticed her friend had already had someone dancing with her while the other girl was just chilling. After a minute of watching what they do, I quickly grabbed a drink and started heading towards her and on “accident” I bumped into her, spilling my drink on my expensive suit.

Should’ve worn my other suit.

I could see the embarrassment come across her face. “I’m so sorry, sir.” She mumbled.

“It’s all right. It was an accident.” I chuckled. It was anything but an accident. Once I talked, she looked up at me. I saw she was taking in what I looked like. So I did the same thing. Her hair was almost completely brown, it had a few blonde highlights throughout her hair. She was a little shorter than me. It looked like she was about 5’5. Her eyes seemed an emerald color. Once we made eye contact, I felt the urge to protect her from danger. But I knew I had to get my revenge on her family.

I am the danger.

“I feel awful! Can I please buy you a drink?” She offered. Her cheeks turned light pink.

I didn’t know this girl’s name. I had been so busy figuring out what my plan was that I forgot to look up her name. “Only if I can get your name,” I

smirked, feeling pretty proud of myself. Why? Maybe it’s because of how smoothly I played that.

“Melody,” she responded with a small blush on her cheeks.

“Liam,” I replied. Man Melody, that’s a really lovely name. Sucks that I’m gonna destroy her entire family, though.

“What kind of drink do you want?” She asked.

We started walking to the bar, and I quickly responded, “Bourbon.”

On our way to the bar, her hips swayed to the beat of the song. Her bodyguards were looking for her. And they looked frantic. I didn’t want them to know I was here. I left quickly and snuck out through the back and saw my car running and Anthony waiting for me.

“Did she pull a disappearing act on you as girls do?” Anthony smugly asked.

“What was that?” I asked in a deadly tone.

The color on his face was gone in less than a second.

“I mean… where is she?”

“I always forget about how she has bodyguards everywhere she goes.” I sighed, “Guess we’re gonna storm her house and take her there.” As I slid into the car, I looked up at Anthony. “Oh, and if you talk to me like that again, you’re going to regret it.” I threatened with a smile on my face.

We hopped in the car and drove off back to my home. That’s when I would plan a way to get in and have an escape plan. I have to choose the best way to get in. After all, I can’t have my men die. I cared for my mafia, but there is one thing I care more about.

Revenge.

He was walking towards the table he had hit and was unrolling something. It looked like a massive roll of fabric. "Mack, what the hell is going on? Who is this guy?" I asked, indicating that I was talking about Liam. "SHUT UP!" Liam shouted once more. This guy has a serious temper. "Liam, she knows nothing. Leave her out of this." Mack said furiously. Know what? What is he talking about? He grabbed a throwing knife and walked over to me. It reminded me of the knives that they used in the first Divergent movie. And at that thought, I squirmed a little. "Mack was it?" Liam said, trying to provoke more anger in Mack. Which it's working, "Answer my questions and she doesn't get hurt. Got it?" "Liam I can't, you know that. I swore an oath to her parents." "Shame," Liam said. He bent down to my level and gave me a smirk. I felt the coldness of the knife slowly cut into my left arm. I bit the inside of my cheek and could feel tears attempting to leave my eyes. He stopped when my breat

He walked towards me and ripped the duct tape off my mouth quickly."Ow!" I shouted. I want to cry at this point. Mack was gone and he said that others had been killed. He's going to torture me more at this point. I'd rather die than have to see anymore of this. I don’t want to go through this kinda pain again. I felt the hand of the person holding my face let go. Did I hear that right? They might have killed Liam's parents? How is that possible! They're boring old people who have no life! All they do is work. This is all just an intense dream of some sorts. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing. Like trained to do."You used to be a doctor.""I was.""Let me guess you decided to join the mafia." I sarcastically said."I did." Charlie's weapons were missing and so was Melody.I'm gonna kill that girl.I untied Charlie and I went to go get some water and made sure it was freezing cold. I had men check the house to see if she was still here and others to see if anything was missing.Once I came downstairs I dumped the thing of water on Charlie and he shot up. He looked around to see he was on the floor and Melody was missing."Hi pal." I said throwing the bucket to the side.Charlie quickly stood up, "Liam listen, she caught me by surprise. That’s half the reason Liam killed him. After ten minutes, I sat in the car waiting for Thea to call the number back. Nothing. We've been driving for about an hour and a half before getting back to Liam's mansion. I never really looked at it before. Well, I never had the chance to.It was hard to tell what the color of his home looked like since we were driving into their massive driveway and they had tinted windows. The mansion seemed more like a castle. There was a fountain of some sort and a few balconies at some of the windows. There was a tower-like thing that reminded me of the tower from Tangled. To the left was where the garage. I'd stolen the ugly car from over there. And to the right seemed to be a garden with a pool in the back. The house was just massive. It was a cream-like color. His driveway was way too long. You don't need a massive driveway. Just enough to get your car into the garage. They even had a gate surrounding the entire house.Once the car came to a complete stop. I quickly opened my side of the door and quickly closed the door, leaning on the car. The three of them quickly got out o

I woke up, doing my morning routine. As I saw myself in the mirror. Dark circles started forming underneath my eyes. I looked exhausted and looked like I was about to kill someone. The second I thought that I decided I needed to blow some steam off. And when I mean blow steam off, I'm going to the gym. After I started my workout, I didn't stop until my hands were bleeding badly and started to bruise. I jumped in the shower that was near the gym and stayed in there for who knows how long. Once I jumped out, I put on new clothes that I'd brought with me. I then grabbed the first aid kit that was stashed away in case of blood and bruises. Which I have.I walked out of the gym and headed towards the tech room and saw something...unexpected.Wilson and Emily making out. They didn't seem to notice me, so I cleared my throat. Payton threatened."You even try pulling the trigger, you will be dead before you blink an eye." Charlie threatened back. I got pulled back a bit by Nick, further away from Payton and Charlie."What are you..." I started but got cut off when Nick's hand covered my mouth."If you want anyone you care about to survive, you're going to do exactly what I say..." Nick whispered. My heart started to beat so fast that my heart was going to jump out. I don't know how I'm supposed to be taking all of this. Am I supposed to say, 'Do what he wants' or, 'Don't listen to him! He's going to kill me and you, regardless of what you do.' This is why I don't develop feelings for people anymore. I've had my heart repeatedly broken, and I don't know how much more heartbreak I can take. "What's it going to be, Mr. King, helping me or fight for love? Especially when you know, regardless of what, I'll get what I want either way."Liam looked at me directly in the eyes, with what I saw in his eyes was they were dark and clouded. His face completely calm and showed no emotion. He didn't seem to have any sign that he cared what could happen next. That Liam didn't mean it when he said I love you.And that last thought terrified me to my core. I'm not ready to die! I'm 21! "Follow me." Liam grumbled. My father was holding my girl away from me...my girl! I don't care if he's family, she's family...she's my home.Home.I looked at Melody and her eyes were all red and a tad bit puffy. She seemed to have calmed down a bit, which is good. I don't need her doing something ridiculous that's going to possibly get her hurt or killed. I don't know what I'd do if she was hurt even more by them. And if she died right here, I know I'll never be the same again. I eyed Payton closely, just as Charlie had been doing. I could see it in his eyes, the way he watched each step Payton took and where Payton's eyes were at. Unfortunately, they were either at me or Melody. "Charlie, have a seat...please." Payton ordered, a smirk forming on his face.I looked at Charlie from the corner of my eye and saw all the color from his face immediately drain. We both knew what could happen to us if we didn't listen to Payton, but the thing that scared me the most was what he could do to Melody.Charlie considere

It's been a few minutes since I left her there alone with Payton. My gut told me minutes ago to rush in there to make sure she was fine. I heard yelling in there. I almost went in there, but Charlie tapped my shoulder, telling me to wait. So, I decided to listened to him and stay put. "Liam, come in here, please!" Melody shouted. I touched the door handle and that feeling that something was wrong increased significantly. As we entered the room, I noticed that Payton had gotten out of his chair and was covering Melody's mouth with one hand. His other hand had a knife near her throat.Charlie and I went for our guns when a sob came from Melody. Payton had put it right at her throat. It was close enough that if she moved, she was a goner. We both moved our hands away from our guns, and he moved the knife a bit away from her throat. I looked more closely at her and saw both hands were behind her back, while her eyes were red and puffy. Why would he do this to her? I thought he loved he

They've been nothing but cruel to me the second I met them. Honestly, I don't feel welcome at the moment. Especially, every time I shifted in my seat, they all looked at me as if I were going to do something stupid. Which I might if I'm being honest with myself. "You know you should get some sleep." I turned around to see that it was Charlie who had said that."I'm okay." I mumbled. Charlie just sighed and didn't push me to sleep on the flight any further. Which I'm grateful for, especially since I'm not even tired. Okay, maybe just a little tired. But I'm not sleeping on this flight or anywhere near them.
