A Sudden Catch

It was a very gloomy but cold evening for Teresa and it's been days since she last saw Stefano. She has had so many failed attempts to leave the convent. Their desperation for Teresa to see him has now grown to be a curse rather than a blessing as it affected her mood in the process. Only Louisa could best relate to the mood swings Teresa had been having all day.

Louisa began talking to Teresa, sharing some beautiful childhood moments with her but Teresa seemed to give deaf ears to all she had been saying as her mind had already journeyed in the thought of Stefano.

“Teresa you can't continue like this,” Louisa asked with so much concern.

“I am doing fine, Louisa. It's just one of those things.” Teresa immediately replied with a low tone.

“One of those things? Teresa, I know you better than anyone. I love it the few times I have seen you happy and I desire to see more of that.”

Teresa remained mute as Louisa kept on talking and pouring out her displeasure around her mood swings.

“Should we go now? Who knows, we may get to see him.” Louisa suggested with a smile on her face.

“Go where? Louisa, it's past 6 pm. Don't you know what time it is?” Teresa asked in curiosity as she sat up in surprise at what Louisa had said.

“Well, we can give it a try if that would make you much better.”

Teresa felt like she had been dead and just came alive that minute. She couldn't hide the joy she was feeling as she just desired to see Stefano. It was like her dream had come true. Louisa just knows how best to make Teresa happy.

“Thank you, dear friend,” Teresa said in appreciation as she gave Louisa a big hug.

They both headed for the basement and sneaked their way through the basement door leading to the streets.

“Where are you both headed?” One of the nuns said as she sighted Louisa and Teresa.

They stopped in fear that they had been caught. A day they never dreamt of experiencing.

Teresa hesitated as she replied in fear “Uhm, we are going on an errand.”

That was the only lie she could think of. Meanwhile, Louisa was quiet and shocked to the brim, gently accepting her fate that she had been caught.

“Really? An errand through the basement?” The Nun asked while giving a stern look.

It then dawned on Teresa that she had been caught and there was no escape route for her and Louisa. They both gazed at each other with fear in their eyes.

“What's your name?” The Nun asked.

“Teresa”

“Louisa”

“You both should kindly follow me.” The Nun said as she ushered them back into the Convent.

They all head to the Mother Superior's office and her fellow nuns. She was surprised to see Teresa and Louisa at a time like that and even ushered in by one of the nuns.

“Is anything the matter?” Mother Superior asked in curiosity.

“I caught these two sneaking out of the convent through the basement.”

“What! That's impossible!” The Mother Superior echoed.

All the other nuns began to murmur in surprise. Despite the rules guarding the convent, they are shocked to hear of such a case.

“Teresa, is this true?” Mother Superior asked.

Teresa was lost for words as she began to plead for forgiveness with Louisa joining her.

“We are so sorry, Mother Superior.” They both echoed.

“No, this is highly unacceptable.”

“Take them to the waiting room and await further instructions.” Mother Superior added as she handed them over to a nun.

Teresa almost felt her life leave her body, she had never seen Mother Superior that harsh towards anyone ever.

As Teresa and Louisa sat at the waiting room they began to cry and watch from a distance how Mother Superior and her fellow nuns judged their case.

“Louisa, we are doomed!”

Louisa kept mute all through even as she continually weeped solemnly.

******

It was dinner time but it turned out to be different this time as Mother Superior called for them to the dining area and have them stand in front of all the sisters and officials of the convent. Everyone in the Convent was seated just right before them.

“I am aware this is your dinner time and you all are entitled to your meals, but I have an important announcement to share with you all.” Mother Superior said.

“From today till the next three months, Teresa and Louisa have been stripped of their duties and will be in detention for sneaking out of the convent through the basement.”

Everyone shouted in exclamation. They couldn't believe their ears, pointing fingers at them and saying all sorts of things.

Mother Superior sounded so stern and didn't care to know why they both sneaked out of the convent, she passed their judgment and permitted everyone to eat afterward.

They were both taken to the basement with sadness in their eyes. Teresa couldn't believe it, it all looked like a dream to them both not until they were being locked in the detention area.

“What have I gotten us into?” Teresa asked with tears rolling down her cheeks.

“No, don't say that. It's not your fault, we are both in this together, and besides it was my idea” Louisa quickly chipped in, trying to comfort Teresa.

Teresa began to feel her world crumbling apart because now she wouldn't only be able to see Stefano but she couldn't also be roaming around the convent like she used to. Her strive for freedom has eventually made the little she has been taken away.

Louisa signaled a nun and pleaded that she could help beg Mother Superior on our verdict.

“Have her show mercy upon us.”

“I wish I could, but the verdicts from Mother Superior are final and cannot be superimposed.” the nun spoke softly.

“I am doomed!” Teresa shouted in a loud voice.

He knew she would have come looking for him if she was safe, there was something about her disappearance and it's been two months already without a glimpse of her or even her friend, Louisa. Stefano's anxiety kept on growing with each passing day.“Where was she? Has something happened to her?”Stefano's mind was filled with so many worst-case scenarios that he thought could possibly happen to Teresa. He thought about the rival gangs, the police, and the countless dangers lurking in the shadows that had probably seen him and Teresa together. Sadly he doesn't know her name, just a description of how she looks and her unique eyes was the only information he has about finding her. He didn't want to have the public search for her, so as not to put

He felt that was the perfect time to talk his brother into dropping his power as he was incapable at the moment. But he needed an idea that could drive his brother to the point of transferring his authority.“I must go meet Lucas, he would just know the right thing for me to do.”Guillermo thought to himself as he set out for the Morano's gang base at dusk so he wouldn't be seen by any of the KING gang members. He journeyed discreetly and met with Lucas, the Morano's gang leader who was a betrayer of his dad. Lucas was once his late dad's best friend.Guillermo got to their base and entered through the narrow gate, they welcomed him into the inner chambers where Lucas dwells.“I have been expecting you, son,” Lucas said as Guillermo approached him.“Expecting me?” Guillermo asked in shock.“Yes, of course, you may have your seat.”Guillermo, still in shock, s

It was a very drowsy morning in the convent and almost everyone was still fast asleep. Seeing that everyone was tired and there wasn't enough food to go around for breakfast, Mother Superior decided to summon sister Maria.“You sent for me, Godmother.” Sister Maria asked in affirmation.“Yes I did, I would love you to go to the marketplace and get some food.” Mother Superior said.Without further discussion, Sister Maria agreed to go to the market to get some food. She went almost immediately and as she approached the market, she heard people wailing and crying. She decided to choose a hideout to view what was happening carefully and quietly. She saw the people living around the market being terrorized. She also realised it was Stefano's men.“What's going on? Why are they rough handling the people?” Maria asked herself in so much pity. She decided to stay in the hideout and watch carefully to at least have a grasp of what was going on. The mass terror of the people was quite alarmin

Stefano’s POVStefano pushed himself off Vincent, his muscles screaming in protest. His ribs ached, his knuckles throbbed, and his vision swam for a moment before steadying. He staggered back, bracing a hand against the rough brick wall, exhaling sharply.Vincent lay on the ground, still catching his breath. His chest rose and fell rapidly, his fingers twitching as though itching to grab a weapon, to fight again, but he didn’t. He stayed down, watching Stefano with wary, calculating eyes.Stefano ran a hand through his disheveled hair, wincing when his fingers grazed a forming bruise on his temple. “So,” he muttered, spitting blood onto the rough cobblestones. “A ditch. That’s where you started?”Vincent wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, then slowly sat up. He nodded. “That’s all I remember. I woke up five years ago, covered in dirt, with nothing but a name and instincts I didn’t understand.” He flexed his fingers, looking down at them. “I knew how to fight. Knew how to kill.

  • The Mafia and his personal Slave   Teresa Is Dead

Teresa’s POV The air in the warehouse was thick with tension, the kind that made men sweat even in the dead of winter. A single dim bulb flickered above, casting uneven shadows on the concrete walls, making the blood already smeared on the floor look darker. The scent of gunpowder lingered from a previous death, this wasn’t the first life taken here today. It wouldn’t be the last.Carlo knelt on the cold ground, arms bound tightly behind his back, his face swollen and streaked with blood. His left eye was nearly swollen shut, his lip split open. Someone had already brutalized him before Vendetta even arrived. But torture wasn’t the punishment. Death was.And Carlo knew it."Please," he gasped, voice hoarse, barely above a whisper. "Boss, please, I... I have a family, I didn’t know... "Vendetta remained silent, watching him from her seat. She wasn’t slouched like a woman at ease, nor was she rigid. His dark eyes, once calculating and sharp, held something else now, a flicker of uncertainty, confusion, but mostly, rage.Stefano barely had time to think before Vincent lunged again. This time, it wasn’t about technique. It was raw, feral. A ragged street fight between two men. They crashed into the ground, rolling, fists slamming against ribs, knuckles splitting against bone. The knife Vincent had once held clattered against the pavement, forgotten as they devolved into a savage, desperate brawl.Stefano’s body was screaming at him to stop. Stefano's POV The morning air was crisp, a sharp contrast to the heavy burden weighing down Stefano’s chest. He pulled his coat tighter around him, stepping onto the cobbled streets of Rome with a single purpose, finding Vincent. He hadn’t seen the man in five years, not since his empire crumbled, not since everything he had built was reduced to nothing. He had believed that Vincent had betrayed him. That he had chosen Guillermo over him.But after what he saw yesterday, a new possibility gnawed at him. Had Vincent also been cast aside? Or perhaps had he run away, or had he been searching for Stefano by himself, perhaps he gave up on the Mafia and decided to leave the underground for good. But he still worked under someone else, something wasn't adding up, the picture didn't fit right together.Stefano needed to find out.But he wasn’t the man he used to be. Stefano's POV Stefano walked away from the market, the weight of the money in his pocket feeling insignificant compared to the storm raging in his mind. His thoughts were consumed by what he had just seen.Vincent.The name burned in his mind, rekindling an anger he had tried to smother for five years. Stefano had believed... no, had known that Vincent had betrayed him, that he had abandoned their loyalty, sided with his brother, and left him to rot. Not anymore."Understood," he muttered back, shoving the phone into his pocket. He pulled the hood of his jacket over his head, adjusting his cap lower over his face.
