Third Person’s Point of View
"See for yourself, don’t tell me you have a new girlfriend again? Tss, that’s fast. We haven’t even killed Mariella in front of you, but don’t worry, I’ll make sure you see your new one die!" he shouted. His voice echoed throughout the place. About five people were already lying on the floor, dead from gunshot wounds to their hearts.
The armed group surrounded Louis. Elaine was behind, trembling in fear. She was still holding the pistol that Louis gave her, but she didn’t know how to use it.
She had only held a gun like this when she, Venice, and Elena went to a newly opened firearm training that taught how to handle guns, but they only went because of the good-looking instructor, who Elena had a huge crush on. Elena’s soul almost left her body every time Xypen approached her. However, they didn’t last long in the training because they saw him with another woman, which made Elena jealous. So, they decided to enroll elsewhere, which both she and Venice had rejected.
"Don’t get mad, Louis, but I have eyes on your back. So, pick who you trust," the man said. He slowly approached Louis, who now had a pistol drawn.
As the man got closer, he grabbed Elaine's chin, but Louis immediately pushed his hand away. “Don’t f*cking touch her!” the young man shouted, his eyes filled with rage.
“Chill, Louis. I don’t plan on taking your girlfriend,” he said, raising both hands in a gesture of peace while the pistol was still pointed at him, and he held Elaine’s arm like he was protecting her.
"Let go. Open your eyes, Elaine. I’m Severus; remember my face well because this is your chance to see the one who will kill both you and Louis," Severus said. His eyes were filled with anger and hatred toward Louis because of what he had done to his parents.
He promised himself that he would avenge them.
Elaine slowly opened her eyes to look at Severus. His eyes were filled with rage. He looked extremely stressed with the heavy bags under his eyes and cracked lips. He was more focused on how to get revenge on Louis than on his health.
“You’ve got a better capture now than Mariella,” Severus said. His men whispered among themselves because of what their boss had said.
“Do you think boss is losing it? Louis Montemayor’s companion is ugly. His companion looks sexier and taller,” one man at the side of Elaine mocked, loud enough for her to hear.
“Shut up, don’t lead me!” Severus shouted and shot the man who had insulted Elaine. He hated it when people interfered with what he said. He didn’t kill him because of the girl, as he didn’t feel anything for her at all.
“Why did you kill Felix? What he said about that woman was true!” one man shouted, pointing his gun at Severus, who was grinning at him. He was getting too loud.
“Why, do you want to follow in your brother’s footsteps?” he asked. Felix’s brother was gnashing his teeth in fury.
“What he said is true. Don’t tell me you like Louis’ companion!” another man interjected, which made SSeverussquint in frustration. If he fought back against them, his men might be wiped out.
“Shut the hell up!” he yelled and fired his gun into the air to get his men’s attention.
“Louis is our enemy, so if you don’t have anything good to say, don’t speak, or you’ll end up like Felix,” he said. His men nodded in agreement.
Louis immediately spoke to get their attention. “Then shoot me, but if you ever try to touch her, I’ll kill all of you,” he threatened, which made Severus laugh loudly.
“We’re not your subordinates, Louis, to be ordered around. I’ll kill you along with the woman you’re protecting, so don’t worry!” he shouted, and then Serverus' men rushed at Louis.
The first ones to attack only had knives, so before they could get close, Louis was already shooting them. Elaine covered her ears from the noise. It felt like she was being taken back to the time when people always kidnapped her when she was younger. Thankfully, her father always saved her.
They even had to move houses back then because of the threats against them. One time, she asked her father why they were being kidnapped, but he only answered that she would know soon enough.
“It’s just strange, Louis, why you prioritize protecting that woman instead of yourself. Aren’t you afraid of Death, who is waiting for you?” Severus said. Louis was sweating from shooting the people getting too close to him and Elaine.
But every time he remembered what his father had told him to protect the girl for the rest of his life, he wondered why. Especially now that he knew she was the daughter of his former nanny. He was sure there was a connection to everything he needed to piece together.
"Target the woman with Louis!" Severus shouted, and his men followed. They aimed their guns at Elaine and began to shoot, but Louis just lifted her to dodge the bullets that would have hit them.
When Elaine opened her eyes, she saw the young man covered in sweat. He had already thrown three packages of bullets, but with so many of Serverus' men, it seemed like he would run out of ammo before they ran out of people.
Elaine’s eyes widened when Severus suddenly fired from a distance, and the bullet almost hit her. It was like she froze where she stood, and memories of her mother’s death began flashing back to her.

“Elaine, get out of here!” her mother shouted as they ran through a grassy forest. She didn’t know why armed men were chasing them, but her mother had already been shot in the side and was struggling to breathe.
She had no idea what was happening. She thought they were just going to her uncle’s house, as her mother had told her.
“Child, get out of here before they catch you. I beg you. When you see your father, tell him I love him so much,” she said. She was completely out of breath. She could no longer run and was starting to close her eyes. She knew that any minute now, her uncle would find them, and he wouldn’t hesitate to kill her.
She thought he had changed and planned to join her, but she was wrong.
As a child, Elaine was shocked when she heard footsteps heading toward them. Tears were already flowing down her face. Her mother had just kissed her on the forehead. “Shhh. You always need to be brave,” she said, stuttering before pushing Elaine to run.
Elaine couldn’t stop the tears as she ran along the path out of the forest. Her heart pounded louder when she heard the sound of a gunshot, meaning they had found her mother.
Elaine gripped the bracelet her mother gave her tightly. She was just a child, but it gave her trauma. She couldn’t speak for months after that, so her father would take her to the psychologist to regularly check on her condition.

“F*ck, wife. Get down!” Louis shouted. He ran toward her, which made the bullet hit his back. She was shocked by his actions as they both fell to the floor.
She was covered in his blood, which made her cry. This was happening again because of her. Tears started to fall, but Louis immediately comforted her. “Shhh,” he whispered. Elaine was trembling.
She didn’t know what to do, but she spoke while sobbing. “It’s my fault, sorry. You shouldn’t have done that. The bullet was meant for me, not for you,” Elaine said, blaming herself for what had happened. The young man only smiled at her.
“I must protect you, so don’t feel guilty about it. Besides, I’m happy you’re okay. I couldn’t forgive myself if something happened to you,” Louis said. Then, from behind them, Severus spoke, clapping.
“Wow, how romantic. I thought I was watching a play. Don’t worry, I’ll follow you with Louis,” he said, aiming his gun at Elaine. Slowly, Louis turned around while holding his injured back and aimed his weapon at Severus.
“As if I’ll let you do that,” Louis said. He was weakening from the bullet wound in his back, but he wouldn’t let Severus touch Elaine.
“Tss, don’t you want to join your girlfriend in hell? You should thank me because you won’t be separated,” Severus said. They were startled when the door opened, revealing Volstrige and his men.
“Damn, you’re all late,” Louis cursed at them. They apologized and immediately rushed to confront Serverus' men.
“Give up, Serverus. We’ve surrounded you!” Brennon shouted. Louis’ eyes glinted with fury, and he pointed his gun at Louis again.
“If you get closer, I’ll kill your boss first!” Severus shouted. His eyes were filled with rage because he hadn’t yet gotten revenge on Louis.
They couldn’t get closer to Severus, which made him laugh loudly. “Looks like you guys are obedient. Don’t worry, I’ll finish off your boss soon,” he said. Louis’ vision was getting blurry.
“What’s the matter, Louis? You look like you’re weakening,” he taunted the young man, who could no longer stand. Thankfully, Elaine supported him, still blaming herself.
“F*ck!” Louis muttered as his vision went completely blurry. He wasn’t like this when bullets hit him. In fact, his body seemed used to it, but this felt different now.
“What’s the problem? You poor thing. In just a few moments, you’ll die because of the cyanide I put in the bullet. Did you really think you could outsmart me, Louis?” he said, laughing, which widened Elaine's eyes. They needed to get the young man to the hospital immediately. If not, she would lose him. Louis’ legs were giving way, and he pointed the gun at Elaine, which shocked her.
“W-Wife, go away,” Louis stammered. Elaine was crying. She wouldn’t leave him, the one who sacrificed himself for her.
“Shoot me, but don’t shoot Louis!” she cried. Severus just looked at her and pulled the trigger, but before the bullet could hit them, Elaine hugged Louis and rolled on the floor until Severus suddenly collapsed from a bullet wound.
“Tss, I didn’t know you could hold a gun,” Severus said, trying to shoot them, but Louis shot his hand instead.
“Damn you, woman!” Severus yelled. Before Louis could get close to Elaine, a bullet hit Severus from Alex’s gun.
He fell to the ground from the gunshot. “W-Why did you—” Serverus was cut off as Alex continued to shoot him to stop him from speaking.
Elaine dropped the gun she was holding and collapsed beside Louis.
She just hoped that he would be okay.
Third Person’s Point of ViewElaine woke up because of the light. She saw the white ceiling, which immediately made her sit up."Child, you’re awake. Thank goodness, I thought I was going to lose you," her father said. He immediately approached her and embraced her. Kaizer was beside him, smiling at her, clearly aware of what had happened between her and Louis."I-I’m fine. Where’s Louis?" she asked, but Kaizer and her father only exchanged glances as if neither of them wanted to answer her question."F-Father?" she called Mr. Natividad, but he just smiled at her and gently placed his hand on her head."Child, it’s better if you rest for now. The nurse said you shouldn’t move too much, especially since what happened to you is very traumatic," Mr. Natividad answered, but Elaine couldn’t rest until she was sure Louis was okay. This was the reason she was still alive, and she wanted to thank him."But, Father, I want to see him. Is he alright? Tell me!" Elaine asked in a panic, trying to
Third Person’s Point of ViewJuliana and Alexa breathed a sigh of relief when they managed to hide in a nearby bar. Luckily, they had their IDs with them. The bouncers weren't too strict; Alexa had seduced them to get in right away.Fortunately, Alexa was skilled in such things, unlike Juliana, who was always focused on studying."I thought we wouldn't escape those people, but I’ve got another problem. How are we going to surprise sister Elaine?" Juliana asked. They sat at the counter to order drinks. They were exhausted from running and needed to refresh for a bit."But how can we surprise her if we can’t get into Uncle Alexander’s hospital? Argh, they’re such party poopers," Alexa said. She immediately pointed to the bartender, asking for the margarita cocktail she always ordered when going to parties."What about you guys? What do you want?" Juliana asked her companions. They immediately sat at the counter and ordered a lot of drinks, which surprised her."Idiots, I don’t have money

She wasn’t in a position to ask what they had discussed, and besides, it was the young man’s privacy. When she entered the room, she immediately put down the dog, a gift from the young man, along with the cat so that she could stretch her arms. She had been holding them outside for a while, and they might have been getting annoyed. “What should we name them?” she asked Louis, who was busy typing on his cellphone.“You should name them,” the young man replied. Third Person’s Point of View“We’ll just follow, Kai,” Elaine said. Louis hugged her from behind as if not want to leave the position they were in.“Okay, fine, but make it quick,” Kaizer replied, which made Elaine sigh because her thighs still hurt.“Hey, let’s have a shower before going to the restaurant,” Louis said. Elaine raised her left eyebrow since she couldn’t even stand because of what had happened between them.“Wife, are you okay?” the young man asked when she didn’t follow him as she stood up. Elaine immediately glared at him, which surprised him.“Do I look like I can stand in this position?” Elaine asked sarcastically. Louis looked at her in confusion, so she had no choice but to explain. “My thighs hurt because of your huge...!” she complained, covering her face in embarrassment. The young man immediately lifted her while laughing. Elaine pouted. “What’s so funny about what I said?” she asked, but he just kissed her on the lips.“Stop pouting. I can’t control myself fro
Elaine’s Point of ViewI don’t know why, but no voice was coming out of me until Eron suddenly pulled me away from Louis, who was busy talking to a woman. As he pulled me, tears I didn’t know the reason for suddenly started to fall from my eyes.It seemed like Louis didn’t care because he didn’t even spare me a glance. He was too busy talking to that woman. Who was she, and why was it that when she spoke to him, he didn’t want to pay attention to me?“Are you okay, Elaine?” Eron asked when he saw the tears falling from my eyes. I quickly wiped them away so he wouldn’t notice that I was crying out of frustration.“Ah, yes. I’m fine. Don’t mind me. I just got some dust in my eyes,” I lied, forcing a smile. He didn’t seem like a bad person since he said that Kaizer and Louis were his classmates in high school.I thought Louis would be happy to see Eron, but it seemed like things weren’t going well between them.We kept walking, but my feet started to ache, so I stopped for a moment to ca
Elaine's Point of ViewI couldn’t stop smiling when Louis suddenly hugged me. “Did you love it, wife?” he asked, and I immediately nodded. What woman wouldn’t be happy to be surprised like this? When Louis released me from the hug, I was suddenly embraced by Aunt Hacel. “Congratulations to both of you. I can’t wait to see you wearing your wedding gown,” she said. I smiled at her words, and I, too, was excited to see myself in a gown. I never expected to experience something like this until Louis came into my life and made me feel special, just like other women.I actually thought that Kaizer would be the one to make me feel this way. I had a crush on him when I entered college. He always made me feel beautiful, but the world is really small because I ended up falling for his cousin, and I’m about to marry him.“Thank you so much, Aunt Hacel. I’m excited, too,” I said. I was surprised when she widened her smile and suddenly took my hand to jump with me. I didn’t know what expression to
Elaine's Point of ViewWhen I pulled away from our kiss, I quickly looked around to find the source of the camera click. My jaw almost dropped when I saw the large cameras aimed at us, with a person holding a microphone.“We are here at Desire Island, and as you can all see, the heir of Montemayor Company, Louis Montemayor, is having an intense kiss with a woman. Just yesterday, rumors were circulating that he had surprised actress Mariella Althea De Vera, but what is this we’re seeing now?” asked the man holding the mic, moving in front of us.“Just go with the flow, they are reporters,” Louis whispered to me, and I just nodded. Could it be true that he ordered a surprise for Mariella, or did Juliana make a mistake? What still puzzles me is why Mariella came to my room to talk to Louis. What could they have discussed?“Can we interview you, Mr. Montemayor?” the reporter asked, and Louis nodded. He immediately pulled me in close and put his arm around me, causing the reporters around u
Elaine’s Point of ViewWhen I turned to see where the voice was coming from, I saw Kaizer standing with his arms crossed in front of us, his eyes blazing with anger. I immediately pushed Tyron to stand up and explain to him.“You’re thinking wrong, Kai,” I said. Tyron was about to explain when Kaizer suddenly punched him hard, knocking him to the floor. What is he doing?“What’s wrong with what I saw, Elaine? This idiot is hugging you. You’ve got some nerve, Tyron, even planning to hit on Elaine. Are there no more flings for you on Desire Island?” Kaizer yelled. I immediately covered my forehead in frustration as I helped Tyron get up since Kaizer’s punch had been so strong. Why are the Montemayor men always so hot-headed?“Shut up, Kai. Please, can you just let me explain!” I said, which immediately stopped him. I apologized to Tyron before turning to talk to Kaizer.“Tell me, Elaine. What did this idiot do to you?” Kaizer asked, furrowing his brows. He even checked my arms to see if
ElaineThe days passed quickly, and we learned the news that Zap had escaped, so our security doubled as we searched for leads on who helped Zap escape and where my real father was.I let out a deep sigh before leaning my head against the chair. I thought the evil of the Valencias was over, but we were back to square one."Everything will be fine, wife. As long as we are together, we can do anything. I’ll dispatch more people to look for leads," Louis said. He held my hand. I smiled."Thank you, hubby, for always being by my side. Even when I’m still looking for a part of my past identity, you're patient," I said and kissed him on the cheek. That evening, while I was working on paperwork that the wedding organizer gave me, Mace suddenly started crying.I quickly stood up and went to the nursery room, "Wah, Mama." I picked her up and saw Louis enter, holding Caliber in his arms.He asked, "What happened?""Hubby, can you grab the diapers? I think she’s crying because it's already full.
LouisI’ve always thought of myself as the man who knew everything. Someone who was calculated, cold, and efficient—that’s who I am. Or rather, who I was before Elaine. She wasn’t just a woman I was ordered to marry; she was the reason I started questioning everything about my carefully constructed world. It all started when I saw her for the first time walking with her friends down the street. I was in the backseat of my car, flipping through meaningless reports about the family’s business, when I caught sight of her. She wasn’t extraordinary by any conventional standard. She had oversized glasses perched on her nose, braces, and hair that seemed to have a life of its own. Yet, there was something about her laugh. It was carefree. It was pure.“Who’s that woman?” I blurted out, startling Brennon. His eyes flicked to the rearview mirror, confused. “I—I don’t know, sir. Should I find out?”I stayed quiet. My heart clenched for reasons I didn’t understand. Why did I care? She wasn’t the
ElaineThe breeze was cold on the day I went to the cemetery. The sun was high, but it didn’t hurt my skin because it was already late afternoon. It was quiet, but I still felt the heaviness in my heart as I walked the path to my father’s grave. Everything that happened was still fresh in my mind, and in the blink of an eye, all the evil deeds of the Valencias were over. But I knew that this wasn’t the end because there were still organizations that wanted to get their hands on the ledger, which I still couldn’t remember. In the end, Zap was imprisoned with multiple charges while Mariella was taken by Lucas to a psychiatrist because she was almost driven insane by everything that happened.I read the inscription on the tombstone that said Raymond Natividad. I placed the bouquet of white roses down and lit a candle. He was such a good father to me, doing everything to protect me.“In a few months, I’ll be giving birth. I’ll make sure to bring them here so you can see them,” I said as m
ElaineWhen I opened my eyes, I felt the pain from the restraints tied to my hands. They were tight and cold, as if purposely tightened to cause severe pain. I trembled as I looked around. It seemed like we were in a storage room, and aside from me, there were two others—Kaizer and Father, both tied to chairs."Ely..." Kai’s voice was weak but filled with concern. "Are you okay?"I nodded, even though my heart contradicted the words. It was racing in fear and anxiety over what might happen to us."Do you know where we are?" I asked, my voice cracking. He shook his head. "All I know is that we've been kidnapped by the Valencia Organization. I don’t know how they found us, but I’ll make sure we escape."I was scared for the baby in my womb. It had nothing to do with this."Everything will be fine, Ely, trust me," Kaizer said. It seemed like he had a plan."Ugh," Father groaned as he slowly opened his eyes. When he saw Kaizer and me, his brows furrowed immediately. "What are you two doin
ElaineLouis and I stayed in Florida for two more weeks. When Louis saw me that night, he was always comforting me. We rarely went out again, and when we did, we always had a bodyguard with us. He didn’t ask me what happened, it seemed like he was waiting for me to tell him on my own.Today, Valerian will pick us up to take us back to the Philippines.“I want to stay here for a while,” I said while organizing the clothes and souvenirs we bought.“We will come back here again. This is one of our houses now, I just need to finish all my work,” Louis answered and pecked a kiss on my cheek. When we got in the car, Valerian smiled at me. “Looks like the newlyweds enjoyed their honeymoon that much. Aunt Hacel said to get both of you after three days, but someone wants to stay longer.”“Shut up, dickhead,” Louis said, and I laughed. So, he was the one who planned for us to stay here for a month.“You really hurt my feelings with that greeting, man. A gift for your godchild?” Valerian asked.
ElaineIt had been a week, and Louis and I had fallen into a routine. We were like a real married couple. Every morning, he cooked for me, and we spent our days exploring different places. Almost every night, something would happen between us. Honestly, it all felt like a dream, and I never wanted to wake up.“Wife, are you still mad at me? I didn’t mean to be rough last night,” Louis asked while trying to feed me some rice.“No. I’m not mad,” I answered briefly.“Then why are you so quiet, hmm?” he asked again. The truth was, I wished we could just stay here because I was afraid that once we went back home, things between us would change again.“I’m just thinking,” I said. His face turned serious. “What is it? You can tell me.”I forced a small smile. It was better to keep what I saw to myself for now. He might think I was involved with Zap.“I’m just thinking about where we should go today. There are so many beautiful places here. I’ll take a quick shower so we can leave,” I said, k
ElaineI woke up because the sunlight was hitting my face; it seemed like Louis was still not back. I slowly got up because my head still hurt a little, and my eyes were swollen. My fingers still had cuts from picking up the broken picture frame.I went to the kitchen and took the photo. I stared at it once more before crumpling it and putting it inside my pocket. Louis must not see this—I’m sure that only Father can answer all the questions I have about the true identity of this man.I opened the fridge, but it contained nothing except water. I sighed and took a shower so I could go out. I needed to find a grocery store.“Wife, where are you going?”My heart nearly jumped out of my chest when I saw Louis. His hair was messy, and he had deep eye bags. His clothes had traces of blood, and there was a scratch on his forehead.“Are you okay?” I asked, touching the wound on his forehead.I quickly realized what I was doing. Why should I care? I shouldn’t, but my heart couldn’t help but wo
ElaineI was startled awake when I suddenly heard a loud ringtone coming from Louis' cellphone."Answer your call," I ordered. I saw Louis decline the call and return his gaze to me."I'm sorry for waking you up," Louis said.I rubbed my eyes to see his face more clearly since the room was dim."It's okay, I was just startled. But why are you still awake?" I asked him as I was about to get up to get a drink from the kitchen.Ouch.I immediately shut my eyes tightly when I felt a sharp pain in my lower body. The same thing happened to me after our first time. It felt like my body was being split in two.Noticing that I seemed to be in pain, Louis helped me up. "Are you okay, wife? Should I call a doctor?" he asked with concern, making me stare at him.Was he really concerned about me?I smiled in amusement, but Ashton’s words suddenly echoed in my mind.Louis was just using me. That’s all. I shouldn’t fall for his actions anymore."I'm fine, it's just that my lower part is sore. Someon
ElaineAs soon as I returned inside the venue, Venice immediately approached me.“Good thing you’re finally here, bestie. Everyone is waiting for you on the balcony so that you and Louis can receive Aunt Hacel’s gift,” she said. I couldn’t help but swallow due to nervousness. What is the Montemayor family up to this time?I quickly forced a smile when I saw Venice still looking at me. She had no idea about what was going on between Louis and me. I couldn’t blame her because I was sure Volstrige would keep it a secret from her.“Sorry, I was late again. I just went to the restroom for a bit,” I explained and was about to step forward when Venice suddenly grabbed my arm, stopping me.“Wait a moment, bestie. I was really waiting for you here because I have something to give you. Also, are you spaced out? That’s not the way to the balcony. Is that the effect of alcohol?” She burst into laughter. When I realized she was right, I couldn’t help but close my eyes in embarrassment.“I wasn’t g
