“Wife, why are you taking so long to come in? Does Louis have another fling again?” asked a man who looked just like Louis. The only difference between them was his appearance showed signs of aging, even though he still looked like a teenager.
The man stopped locking the car when he saw Elaine. He recognized her face because he had ordered Louis to marry the young woman.
“Who are you, miss, and why are you in my son’s mansion? Explain yourself,” the woman said grumpily, raising an eyebrow. She looked at Elaine who didn’t know what to say since the young man hadn’t told her that his parents would also be coming.
“M-Me? Uh . . . uh,” Elaine stuttered. Louis’ father stopped Louis’ mother from pulling Elaine’s hair because she was about to drag her out.
“Wife, she’s the woman I was telling Louis about. For Pete’s sake, it’s embarrassing to treat your son’s bride like that,” Louis’ father said, which made Louis’ mother realize what she was doing to Elaine. She immediately hugged her.
“I’m sorry. You must be our future daughter-in-law. I thought he brought home another woman,” Louis’ mother said, which made Elaine laugh. She didn’t expect the woman to be kind, especially after thinking that she was going to be eaten alive by her earlier.
Thank goodness Louis’ father was there. If not, she probably would have lost all her hair. What a lifesaver!
“It’s okay,” Elaine replied, smiling at Louis’ father who immediately excused himself to get something from the car.
“Let’s have a seat, daughter,” she said as they slowly sat down on the chair where Elaine had been sitting earlier.
“I’m Hacel Montemayor, Louis’ mother. You can call me mom, and I won’t take no for an answer,” she cheerfully said while holding both of Elaine’s hands.
“I’m Elaine, M-Mom,” Elaine stuttered, not expecting to be facing the mother of one of the richest CEOs in the world.
“Anyway, when will the baby come?” Hacel asked with a smile, which surprised Elaine. She suddenly remembered what had happened between her and Louis on their first night together when she almost gave him her virginity.
“I’m not pregnant,” Elaine replied. It was clear that Louis’ mother was disappointed by the answer. She knew this conversation with Louis would come sooner or later, but she didn’t expect it to be this awkward.
“Why not? Your wedding with Louis is fast approaching. Don’t tell me nothing has happened between you and my son?” Hacel asked straightforwardly. She called for the maid to bring food for them.
“W-We haven’t done anything yet, Louis and I,” Elaine stammered, nervous. Every time she remembered what Louis did to her earlier that morning and the early hours, she couldn’t stop blushing. Why was she so affected by the young man?
“Oh, dear, my son is so weak in handling things. I have an idea, daughter, don’t worry. Why don’t you and Louis go to Desire Island one day? You know, on Valentine’s Day,” Hacel whispered, giddy with excitement.
She was clearly excited to have a grandchild from their only son. Every time she went to high school reunions, many of her classmates already had grandchildren.
“P-Pardon?” Elaine asked. The maids started serving the food that Hacel had ordered.
“You see, daughter, our husbands are busy. So if you want to get noticed for your beauty, wear some lingerie. Then tie yourself to the bed so that—” Hacel was cut off when Elaine suddenly spat out the strawberry juice she was drinking because of what she said. From the outside, the woman looked religious, but after hearing her speak, Elaine just wanted to sink into the ground.
“Hon, what are you two talking about? You seem to be getting along well,” Louis’ father said as he slowly approached his wife.
“Oh, I was just advising my daughter-in-law on how to make us a grandchild,” she said, smiling while eating a blueberry cheesecake. Before he could respond, the doorbell rang, and the maid at the door was instructed to open it.
“Ma’am, Miss Elaine’s father is here. Should I let him in?” the maid asked. Elaine stood up in joy. Hacel nodded.
When Elaine’s father entered, she immediately ran to hug him. “Welcome, amigo,” Louis’ father, Izaak Montemayor, greeted him. Elaine’s father simply nodded at him.

As soon as Louis entered the building, all the employees he passed by bowed down. What was odd, though, was that they were all wearing red.
When he reached his office, his secretary immediately greeted him with a “Happy Valentine’s Day” that made him frown. What the fuck is Valentine’s Day for?
“Get out. All employees wearing red are fired. I didn’t permit them to wear whatever they want in my company,” Louis said, and his secretary Tiffany immediately nodded. She, too, was wearing red and had to change if she didn’t want to lose her job.
“Good morning, bossing. You seem to be in a bad mood. By the way, Happy Valentine’s Day! What’s your gift for your soon-to-be wife?” Volstrige asked with a grin. Louis just glared at him, causing Volstrige to take a step back.
“Damn, I told you not to bother him this morning. Looks like he didn’t have a good time with Ma’am Elaine,” Volstrige said.
“What’s the occasion?” one of them asked, surprising the three of them.
Volstrige cleared his throat and confidently spoke. “Valentine’s Day is when lovers express their affection with greetings and gifts.”
Brennon immediately slapped him. “Idiot, you’re holding a cheat sheet. Give me your phone!” Brennon said as he wrestled with Volstrige because he hadn’t finished reading what was on the screen.
“But, boss, that’s still one day away. If you want, we can buy a gift for Ma’am Elaine,” Alex suggested, which made Louis frown even more as they mentioned the occasion today.
“What gift does a woman want to receive on Valentine’s Day?” Louis asked seriously.
“Flowers.”
“Sex.”
“Chocolates.”
The young man raised an eyebrow at their suggestions. Volstrige immediately approached Louis.
“You know, boss, if you ask me how to make Ma’am Elaine’s day great, I’d say you two should go on a vacation in an island by yourselves and make love. She’ll be happy, and so will you,” Volstrige said, showing advertising photos of Desire Island.
“Idiot, I’m sure you need something from Eros again, that’s why you’re advertising his island. Monkey!” Brennon teased. Louis pulled out his gun and pointed it at the two of them.
“Useless idiots, get out!” he shouted. The three of them hurriedly ran out of Louis’ office in fear.
“You bastards, you’re ruining my business,” Volstrige muttered as they exited. He almost convinced Louis if it weren’t for these two monkeys.
Louis couldn’t stay still, so he decided to call his cousin in the United States, Juliana Montemayor.
“Hello, brother. Do you need something?” she asked. She was Kaizer’s sister studying at Harvard. She was the smartest among her siblings.
“Yes, what should I give to a woman?” Louis asked directly, causing his cousin to laugh because this was the first time he had asked such a question.
“Are you serious? And who’s the lucky woman you’re giving it to?” Juliana asked, curious. It was the first time Louis had asked her about a woman.
“None of your business. If you want to see your boyfriend alive, you better tell me,” Louis threatened, which immediately made Juliana cough because she hadn’t told Louis that she had a boyfriend.
“Fine. What else can I do? Hmm, bouquets and chocolates are too common. How about dogs or cats?” she suggested while busy with some activities.
“Where’s Alexa? Tell her to bring the most expensive dog and cat to my mansion before Valentine’s Day. I will transfer the money later,” Louis said. He was about to hang up when Juliana suddenly spoke.
“Wait, how will we get what you’ve asked for?” she asked, finding it quite impossible since they only had one day left.
“Through my private airplane. Say my name at the airport. I will tell Valerian,” Louis said, then ended the call. He grabbed the briefcase from the desk.
He planned to visit Eros to rent out the whole of Desire Island for Valentine’s Day. He wanted to spend that day alone with Elaine.
He didn’t know why he was feeling differently about her. Before, he never cared about these kinds of occasions. Maybe he just didn’t want to disappoint his father. I’m just doing it for myself, not for Elaine, he convinced himself.
“Boss, where are you going?” Volstrige asked, but Louis didn’t answer, so Volstrige kept following him like a dog.
“Sir Louis, you have a meeting at 1 p.m.,” Tiffany said, biting her lip, clearly trying to entice him. She had changed into a revealing outfit with a deep neckline and a short skirt that almost showed her underwear.
“You’re fired,” Louis replied and quickly walked away, but Tiffany grabbed his elbow and pressed it against her cleavage.
“Sir, please, I really need this job,” she begged, pulling her elbow closer to her cleavage, but Louis immediately removed it.
“Boss, looks like your secretary’s into you. I wonder what Ma’am Elaine will say when she finds out you’re pressing your elbow into another woman’s cleavage?” Volstrige teased as he smirked. Tiffany was startled and immediately knelt to beg Louis for forgiveness.
“Leave before I bury you alive,” Louis threatened. Tiffany quickly walked out, embarrassed in front of the crowd.
“I don’t think your act will go this far,” Kaizer said, entering the company with a folder in hand.
“Mind your own business, dickhead,” Louis muttered who was about to leave the building when Kaizer suddenly spoke.
“I got the information you want to know about the Lombardis.” He handed Louis the white folder containing the information. “Where are you going?”
Louis just glared at him. “When did I permit you to ask me a question?” Louis snapped.
The tension between them escalated when Kaizer spoke again, “You probably didn’t do anything with Elaine.” His voice laced with anger toward Louis.
“What will you do if I say we had an exciting night yesterday?” Louis replied with a grin. The three of them immediately started teasing their boss.
“Damn, you’re ruthless, boss!” Volstrige shouted while clapping. Kaizer pulled out his gun and pointed it at Louis.
“Sir Louis Montemayor,” a man said, running toward them, looking anxious.
“My boss, Sirius Montemayor, needs your help. He’s now in jail,” the man said. When he saw Kaizer holding the gun, he immediately lowered his head in fear.
“Have mercy on me, Sir Kaizer. I’m just here to ask for help for your cousin,” the man pleaded, and Louis and Kaizer both recognized him as Sirius’s butler.
“You should know the consequences if this is not important,” Louis warned, slowly descending to his Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita.
This was the first time Sirius Montemayor needed his help. Louis knew his cousin well enough to know that Sirius would never ask anyone for help because of his pride.
Third PersonSirius’ butler was restless as they headed to the jail. The truth was, in his six years of service to his master, this was the first time something like this had happened to him. Sirius would get mad at him once they arrived, and he was with two of his cousins. What Sirius hated the most was asking for help from anyone, especially from the people he knew.He didn’t want to be judged. Once, the young man almost killed him because he reported him to his parents, something Sirius hated. He tried to live without asking for anyone’s help, but Sirius had no choice now because his situation was so bad that it threatened the company he had been protecting.“Can you tell us what really happened?” Kaizer asked while Louis was busy looking at his phone. His mother had been calling nonstop earlier, telling him to come home because they were already at the mansion to discuss the wedding. As much as he wanted to go home, he couldn’t because his cousin needed him now.“This is what happe
Third PersonLouis stepped on the accelerator of the car. He was worried about Elaine, especially when his mother mentioned that something bad had happened to her.“Damn,” he cursed while hitting the steering wheel because of the traffic. Just when he was in a hurry, traffic congestion happened in the area.“Can you calm down? As if you can stop the traffic with that, idiot,” Kaizer told him, but the truth was, Kaizer’s hand had been shaking with fear about what happened to Elaine. He had liked her for a long time, but he always held himself back whenever they met because he didn’t want to complicate her mind with all that was going on.He knew Elaine better than her future husband. There was nothing he could do about it, especially since he wasn’t sure if she liked him, too. If he could, he would run away with her and live a simple life, but if that happened, there would be important things that they needed to sacrifice that he couldn’t bear to lose. When they arrived at the mansion,
Third Person“Louis, are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost,” said the young lady who was staring at Louis’ pale face. She didn’t understand why he was reacting that way to the picture of her with her mother who was holding her in her arms.“Who is that woman to you?” Louis asked. His mind was spinning because of what was happening, but his head began to ache. The memory of his former nanny came rushing back.“Lou-lou, you shouldn’t be out at this hour. Your father will surely scold you,” lectured his favorite nanny, Serena. She was kind and always prioritized his feelings. In fact, she was the first person to see him cry, especially when his father scolded him.“But I want to go to Uncle Liam’s mansion. He will probably get mad at Sirius because of what we did. I want to defend him,” young Louis said, raising his hand as if on a mission. Compared to other children, Louis was more mature, even though he was only seven years old.Serena immediately knelt to meet the young Louis
ElaineLouis remained silent while driving. We were heading to the resort that Aunt Hacel mentioned.I couldn't help but wonder what the conversation between him and my father was about. When he returned inside, he didn’t speak much. I was also shivering from the cold air conditioning since it was blowing directly at me. Louis was the one driving while my father and Kaizer were in the other car.At first, Kaizer didn’t want to agree, but my father insisted that they not join us.“Wear this,” Louis said, slowly opening his compartment to grab a denim jacket. He handed it to me, which I quickly accepted because I was about to freeze from the cold. Even my legs were too stiff to move.“Thank you,” I said. Louis just nodded and continued driving. I wasn’t sure if Kaizer had already arrived at the resort before us because we were stuck in traffic. They might have gotten there thirty minutes earlier.“By the way, what did you and my father talk about?” I asked because I couldn’t hold back my
Third Person“See for yourself, don’t tell me you have a new girlfriend again? Tss, that’s fast. We haven’t even killed Mariella in front of you, but don’t worry, I’ll make sure you see your new one die!” he shouted. His voice echoed throughout the place. About five people were already lying on the floor, dead from gunshot wounds. The armed group surrounded Louis. Elaine was behind him, trembling in fear. She was still holding the pistol that Louis gave her, but she didn’t know how to use it.She had only held a gun like this when she, Venice, and Elena went to a newly opened firearm training center, but they only went there because of the good-looking instructor whom Elena had a huge crush on. Elena’s soul almost left her body every time Xypen approached her. However, they didn’t last long in the training because they saw him with another woman, which made Elena jealous, so they decided to enroll elsewhere, which both she and Venice had rejected.“Don’t get mad, Louis, but I have eyes
Third PersonElaine woke up because of the light. She saw the white ceiling, making her immediately sit up.“Elaine, you’re awake. Thank goodness, I thought I was going to lose you,” her father said. He immediately embraced her. Kaizer was beside him, smiling at her, clearly aware of what had happened between her and Louis.“I-I’m fine. Where’s Louis?” she asked, but Kaizer and her father only exchanged glances as if neither of them wanted to answer her question.“D-Dad?" she called Mr. Natividad, but he just smiled at her and gently placed his hand on her head.“It’s better if you rest for now. The nurse said you shouldn’t move too much, especially since what happened to you is very traumatic,” Mr. Natividad answered, but Elaine couldn’t rest until she was sure Louis was okay. This was the reason she was still alive, and she wanted to thank him.“But,Dad, I want to see him. Is he alright? Tell me!” Elaine asked in a panic, trying to get out of bed slowly, but her father stopped her.“
Third PersonJuliana and Alexa breathed a sigh of relief when they managed to hide in a nearby bar. Luckily, they had their IDs with them. The bouncers weren’t too strict; Alexa had seduced them to get in right away.Fortunately, Alexa was skilled in such things, unlike Juliana who was always focused on studying.“I thought we wouldn’t escape them, but I’ve got another problem. How are we going to surprise Elaine?” Juliana asked. They sat at the counter to order drinks. They were exhausted from running and needed to refresh for a bit.“But how can we surprise her if we can’t get into Uncle Alexander’s hospital? Argh, they’re such party poopers,” Alexa said. She immediately pointed to the bartender, asking for the margarita cocktail she always ordered when going to parties.“What about you, guys? What do you want?” Juliana asked them. They immediately sat at the counter and ordered a lot of drinks, surprising her.“Idiots, I don’t have money to pay!” she shouted. They laughed. She was s

She wasn’t in the position to ask what they had discussed, and besides, it was Louis’ privacy. When Elaine entered the room, she immediately put down the dog, a gift from him, along with the cat so that she could stretch her arms. She had been holding them outside for a while, and they might have been getting annoyed. “What should we name them?” she asked Louis who was busy typing on his phone.“You should name them,” he replied. Louis furrowed his brow because of Eros’ text. From: DickheadWow. Do you want to reserve a room? Is this still Louis Montemayor I texted with a month ago
ElaineThe days passed quickly, and we learned the news that Zap had escaped, so our security doubled as we searched for leads on who helped Zap escape and where my real father was.I let out a deep sigh before leaning my head against the chair. I thought the evilness of the Valencias was over, but we were back to square one."Everything will be fine, wife. As long as we are together, we can do anything. I’ll dispatch more people to look for leads," Louis said. He held my hand. I smiled."Thank you, hubby, for always being by my side. Even when I’m still looking for a part of my past identity, you're patient," I said and kissed him on the cheek. That evening, while I was working on paperwork that the wedding organizer gave me, Mace suddenly started crying.I quickly stood up and went to the nursery room, "Wah, Mama." I picked her up and saw Louis enter, holding Caliber in his arms.He asked, "What happened?""Hubby, can you grab the diapers? I think she’s crying because it's already fu
LouisI’ve always thought of myself as the man who knew everything. Someone who was calculated, cold, and efficient—that’s who I am. Or rather, who I was before Elaine. She wasn’t just a woman I was ordered to marry; she was the reason I started questioning everything about my carefully constructed world. It all started when I saw her for the first time walking with her friends down the street. I was in the backseat of my car, flipping through meaningless reports about the family’s business, when I caught sight of her. She wasn’t extraordinary by any conventional standard. She had oversized glasses perched on her nose, braces, and hair that seemed to have a life of its own. Yet, there was something about her laugh. It was carefree. It was pure.“Who’s that woman?” I blurted out, startling Brennon. His eyes flicked to the rearview mirror, confused. “I—I don’t know, sir. Should I find out?”I stayed quiet. My heart clenched for reasons I didn’t understand. Why did I care? She wasn’t the
ElaineThe breeze was cold today at the cemetery. The sun was high, but it didn’t hurt my skin because it was already late afternoon. It was quiet, but I still felt the heaviness in my heart as I walked the path to my father’s grave. Everything that happened was still fresh in my mind, and in the blink of an eye, all the evil deeds of the Valencias were over. But I knew that this wasn’t the end because there were still organizations that wanted to get their hands on the ledger, which I still couldn’t remember. In the end, Zap was imprisoned with multiple charges while Mariella was taken by Lucas to a psychiatrist because she almost lost her sanity with everything that happened.I read the inscription on the tombstone that said Raymond Natividad. I placed the bouquet of white roses down and lit a candle. He was such a good father to me, doing everything to protect me.“In a few months, I’ll be giving birth. I’ll make sure to bring them here so you can see them,” I said. My heart ached,
ElaineWhen I opened my eyes, I felt the pain from the restraints tied to my hands. They were tight and cold, as if purposely tightened to cause severe pain. I trembled as I looked around. It seemed like we were in a storage room, and aside from me, there were two others—Kaizer and Dad, both tied to chairs.“Ely . . . .” Kai’s voice was weak but filled with concern. “Are you okay?”I nodded, even though my heart contradicted the words. It was racing in fear and anxiety over what might happen to us.“Do you know where we are?” I asked, my voice cracking. He shook his head. “All I know is that we’ve been kidnapped by the Valencia Organization. I don’t know how they found us, but I’ll make sure we escape.”I was scared for the baby in my womb. It had nothing to do with this.“Everything will be fine, Ely, trust me,” Kaizer said. It seemed like he had a plan in mind.“Ugh,” Dad groaned as he slowly opened his eyes. When he saw Kaizer and me, his brows furrowed immediately. “What are you tw
ElaineLouis and I stayed in Florida for two more weeks. When Louis saw me that night, he always comforted me. We rarely went out again, and when we did, we always had a bodyguard with us. He didn’t ask me what happened, it seemed like he was waiting for me to tell him on my own.Today, Valerian will pick us up to take us back to the Philippines.“I want to stay here for a while,” I said while organizing the clothes and souvenirs we bought.“We will come back here again. This is one of our houses now, I just need to finish all my work,” Louis answered and pecked a kiss on my cheek. When we got in the car, Valerian smiled at me. “Looks like the newlyweds enjoyed their honeymoon that much. Aunt Hacel said to get both of you after three days, but someone wants to stay longer.”“Shut up, dickhead,” Louis said and I laughed. So, he was the one who planned for us to stay here for a month.“You really hurt my feelings with that greeting, man. A gift for your godchild?” Valerian asked. Louis t
ElaineIt had been a week, and Louis and I had fallen into a routine. We were like a real married couple. Every morning, he cooked for me, and we spent our days exploring different places. Almost every night, something would happen between us. Honestly, it all felt like a dream, and I never wanted to wake up.“Wife, are you still mad at me? I didn’t mean to be rough last night,” Louis asked while trying to feed me some rice.“No. I’m not mad,” I answered briefly.“Then why are you so quiet, hmm?” he asked again. The truth was, I wished we could just stay here because I was afraid that once we went back home, things between us would change again.“I’m just thinking,” I said. His face turned serious. “What is it? You can tell me.”I forced a small smile. It was better to keep what I saw to myself for now. He might think I was involved with Zap.“I’m just thinking about where we should go today. There are so many beautiful places here. I’ll take a quick shower so we can leave,” I said, ki
ElaineI woke up with the sunlight hitting my face. Louis was still not back. I slowly got up, my head still hurting a little, and my eyes were swollen. My fingers still had cuts from picking up the broken picture frame.I went to the kitchen and took the photo. I stared at it once more before crumpling it and putting it inside my pocket. Louis must not see this. I was sure that only Dad can answer all the questions I have about the true identity of this man.I opened the fridge, but it contained nothing except water. I sighed and took a shower so I could go out. I needed to find a grocery store.“Wife, where are you going?”My heart nearly jumped out of my chest when I saw Louis. His hair was messy, and he had deep circles under his eyes. His clothes had traces of blood, and there was a scratch on his forehead.“Are you okay?” I asked, touching the wound on his forehead.I quickly realized what I was doing. Why should I care? I shouldn’t, but my heart couldn’t help but worry. This dam
ElaineI was jolted awake when I heard a loud ringtone coming from Louis’ phone."Answer your call," I ordered.Louis declined the call and returned his gaze to me. "I'm sorry for waking you up."I rubbed my eyes to see his face more clearly since the room was dim. "It's okay, I was just startled. But why are you still awake?" I was about to get up to get a drink from the kitchen, but my eyes shut tightly when I felt a sharp pain in my lower body. The same thing happened to me after our first time. It felt like my body was being split in two.Noticing that I seemed to be in pain, Louis helped me up. "Are you okay, wife? Should I call a doctor?" he asked with concern, making me stare at him.Was he really concerned about me?I smiled in amusement, but Ashton’s words suddenly echoed in my mind.Louis was just using me. That was all. I shouldn’t fall for his actions anymore."I'm fine, it's just that my lower part is sore. Someone here was too rough," I hinted while pointing at my womanho
ElaineAs soon as I returned inside the venue, Venice approached me.“Good thing you’re finally here, bestie. Everyone is waiting for you so that you and Louis can receive Aunt Hacel’s gift,” she said. I couldn’t help but gulp due to nervousness. What was the Montemayor family up to this time?I quickly forced a smile when I saw Venice still looking at me. She had no idea about what was going on between Louis and me. I couldn’t blame her because I was sure Volstrige kept it a secret from her.“Sorry, I was late again. I just went to the restroom for a bit,” I explained and was about to step forward when Venice grabbed my arm, stopping me.“Wait a moment. I was really waiting for you here because I have something to give you. Also, are you spacing out? That’s not the way to the balcony. Is that the effect of alcohol?” She burst into laughter. When I realized she was right, I couldn’t help but close my eyes in embarrassment.“I wasn’t going there, duh!” I replied and was about to walk aw
