Marly POV The woman sat there with tears filling her eyes. “I have a sister? I cannot remember her,” the woman stated. She was upset by this information, and I felt guilty at having to be the one to tell her. “You never knew her. You were separated at birth,” I continued, telling her what I had seen. “What?” she asked, not clear what I was saying. “That is not possible. I knew Cara and her parents,” Carson stated, sounding doubtful himself. “I can only tell you what I saw. I have no idea any other details,” I admitted. “She is lying, Carson. Can’t you see? She wants you for herself. She has done some type of voodoo on you!” the woman cries, looking to Carson. Carson looked conflicted. “I am sorry sweetheart, I am having a really hard time understanding this,” Carson said to me. “Do not believe me – it makes no difference to me. I do know, this woman is not who she claims to be,” I stated confidently. Something was fi
Carson POV I felt a chill roll down my spine. Figured what out? We had only figured out what I suspected was one piece of the puzzle. As the cell door opened, we moved towards Alpha Luke. He was still hanging from the silver cuffs attached to the wall, and I could see exhaustion in his body. Holding your weight by your arms was exhausting. Doing so while being beaten, was even more so. Marly started to move forward but I put a hand on her arm, “Wait,” I suggested as she paused to look at me. “The sooner I do this, the sooner we can leave,” she replied, calmly. I knew she was right, and I was proud to see this confidence in her. She stepped forward and moved to touch Alpha Luke’s arm. “Do not touch me!” he scowled, as if knowing what was about to happen. It was too late; she had already touched him. I watched as she slipped into something of a trance. It was like she was watching a movie. Her eyes were closed but you c
Marly POV I felt sick at the thought of not being who I thought I was. I did not see anything to indicate who my real parents would be. And could I take this as truth? Was it a made-up story in Alpha Luke’s mind? But if I believed that, then nothing I had seen was accurate. I had to believe that what I had seen was real. There were too many details to not have been real. “What do you mean?” Carson asked with concern. “I do not know any more than that. Just that my parents are not my real parents,” I shared. He took me into his arms, “We will figure this out, sweetheart. We will go see your parents, and get to the bottom of it all,” he promised me. I nodded, as we moved away from the Alpha’s body. He was gone and could not hurt me anymore. We walked into the fresh air, and I took a few deep breaths to clean my lungs of the smell of death. Carson pulled me closer, “What do we do now?” I asked softly. “No
Carson POV “Yes?” I asked, wanting to confirm what I had heard. Marly smiled shyly, “Yes” she confirmed. I bent down slowly and kissed her lips. They were so soft; I nibbled at them as she moaned against my mouth. I slipped my tongue between her open lips, sliding it against her tongue. Tasting her essence. I felt Marly’s hands move tentatively from around my waist up towards my chest. Her small hands were creating a ripple affect over my body. I felt a heat in the path of her movements. Her fingers went to the buttons of my shirt. She broke our kiss and kissed where she had opened the first button. She continued this as she moved down towards the bottom of the shirt. Standing, she licked her way back up my body, causing my heartbeat pick up in anticipation of what was to come next. She pushed the shirt off my shoulders, and let her fingers move across my body. “You are amazing, Carson,” she murmured as she moved closer
Marly POV Making love with Carson was the best experience of my life. I had not known that being close with your mate would be so special. It was more than I could have hoped for, and I wanted to do it again, and often, I thought with a chuckle. Carson looked up at me with a questioning look on his face, before his face changed and I could see he was mind-linking with someone. “Fuck!” he muttered, as he moved me gently off his body. I instantly felt cold and alone, “What is wrong?” I asked, getting out of the bed with him. “Rogues,” he said, as he turned to look at me. “You stay here. I will go and see what is going on,” he suggested, as I shook my head. “No, I want to go with you. We both know I am stronger than we thought. I can help,” I said, moving to throw one of his t-shirts over my naked body. “Marly, it is too dangerous to have you shift until we know what is coming at us,” Carson cautioned. I simply stared at him
Marly POV I could not open my eyes from the pain in my head. What had happened? I had been hit, and I blacked out. But not before I saw her. I was still confused about what had happened, but I needed to open my eyes and figure out where I was. As I opened my eyes, I realized it was pitch black. I was trapped in something. I paused and listened for clues as to where I was. I was moving, but the air was stuffy. I could hear people talking but could not make out what they were saying. I groaned as I tried to focus. I felt the movement slow down and then speed up again. A vehicle. I am in the trunk of a vehicle, I realize. Where are they taking me and why? I cannot sit here and wait for them to stop. I need to try and get out of here. I feel around, trying to feel for a weapon or something I can use if they stop suddenly. Finding nothing, I realize I will need to be the weapon. “I am with you, Marly,”
Marly POV The thrusting of my mate in my body, was causing me pain, but I was happy to know that I had found my mate, Maxwell Sampson. He was the soon to be named Alpha for our pack, Red Pines Pack. I was an Omega, and I was an embarrassment to my family. My family had never disillusioned me. My fate as a she-wolf was to serve the Pack. Maxwell promised me it did not matter that I was an Omega, as he dragged me into the closet at the school we were attending. Our Pack often hosted events where our Packs would visit one another. I had met Maxwell when I was young and had loved him for years. Yes, he bullied me as we got older. Being an Omega, you kind of expected those things. But as soon as our mate bond clicked, all of that disappeared and it was just the two of us. He never abused me, like the others did. I was one of the few Omegas in our Pack and school. As such, there was always someone around to remind you of your p
Marly POV When I woke up the next morning, after finally falling asleep, I had bruises on my stomach. Nobody had beaten me, so I did not understand where they had come from. My stomach ached like I had taken a beating, but it made no sense. Layla was still quiet. “Layla?” I asked but heard no response. I was sorry for her; we had just met in my mind, the night before. I had hoped to shift, but Layla said we would not shift as it was too soon and that we were special. But I feared I was already a disappointment for her. “You are not a disappointment, Marly,” Layla said softly before adding, “Our mate is the disappointment,” she replied before receding back in my mind. Looking at the clock, I raced downstairs to prepare breakfast for my family. “You are late,” my father scowled at me. “Sorry, Gamma,” I replied quickly preparing bacon and eggs for my family. I was not allowed to call my parents mom and dad. I could only addr

Carson POV I took Marly’s hand in mine and led her back to the woman claiming to be Cara. We walked into the room, with Cara asking for me. She stopped asking when she saw me. Her face lit up until she saw me holding Marly’s hand. “What is this?” she whispered. “Who are you?” I countered. “Carson, you know who I am,” she replied, hurt lacing her words. “I am afraid I do not. There are no sparks between us. I spoke with an Elder who advised the only reason that would be is if you were never my mate to begin with,” I shared with her. I saw her eyes fill up with tears. “I do not understand,” she replied, as tears rolled down her cheeks. I was not immune to her pain. The woman I was looking at was identical to my first mate. I hated to see her in pain, knowing I was partially the cause. But I had to remind myself that she was somehow involved in this trickery. “I do not understand either. I am hoping yo
Marly POV My chest hurt. It hurt to breathe. I had known I was right and nothing would change. To everyone I was a useless Omega. Someone who did not matter. I rushed towards the door, eyeing the exit with hope. I needed to get some fresh air. Something to allow the pain to wash over me. I knew Sarah had wanted to follow me, but I had held my hand up. She had been wrong. Nobody wanted me here, and nobody would care if I disappeared. Just as I was about to reach my goal, I felt a warm hand take my arm. I instantly felt the sparks between us, and I felt betrayed. I whipped around and slammed my fist into Carson’s chest. I knew it would not hurt him, but I was angry at the circumstances. Before I could hit him again, Carson had wrapped his arms around my thrashing body and carried me to an empty room, shutting the door behind him. He simply held me while I cried in frustration. Marly POV I had been working on my studies, trying to remain distracted while I kicked myself in the ass for not going with Carson. The truth was I was killing myself with all the what ifs. At least if I was there, I would know what was happening. I had reread this last text five times and still had no idea what I was supposed to be doing with it. I heard a soft tap on my door, and my heart leapt in my throat. Was Carson back already? I moved quickly to the door, opening it widely. My smile froze as I saw Jenna standing there. “How did you get up here?” I demanded as she stood at the door. “As Luna, I have access to all areas of this pack house,” she stated. I simply stood there, refusing to invite her into my room. After the last experience, I did not want a repeat of that. “What do you want?” I asked. “I wanted to let you know that just because you were safely returned to the Full Moon Pack, you will not take over the r
