Jade's pov

A strand of my wet hair fell into my eyes and I hissed as I brushed back my damp hair with my fingers.

“I look like a drowned rat, Conri,” I muttered sourly and heard him chuckle.

Turning me into his arms to face him, I watched my mate tuck my wet hair behind both my ears and ruffle my somewhat dried bangs.

“You're lovely, Jade and I highly doubt if either of them will care how you appear since they are mates,” he stated just as we entered the office.

Aiden and Gregory were sitting together on a loveseat with my dad sitting across from them in deep conversation.

Clearing his throat Conri got their attention as we approached the group.

“Sirs, my mate would like to know if she and I could remain here as your guests until our pup comes. We both find that your pack doctor is more inept than my male one,” Conri announced.

Elbowing his side I suggested that he tell them about Samson.

Nodding at me, he grew tense and explained what had happened to me in the showe
