KEENA

My eyes fly open and I awaken to find myself alone in a room, lying on a comfortable bed. Sitting up in my bed I look at my surroundings. The room doesn't appear to be a prison of some sort. It is nicer than the Omega rooms in the royal mansion. From the tiny but comfortable bed I am sitting on I can see a dresser and a small bedside table. On the opposite side of the room there is a small chair in the corner of the room and I am not at all surprised to see that it is full.

Sylvia has made herself comfortable in the chair. She is sitting in the chair sideways with her legs hanging over the arms. She is swinging her legs staring up at the ceiling.

"It took you long enough to wake up," she says as she continues to stare at the ceiling.

"How long was I out?" I ask her.

"Two days," she says and she turns her head in my direction.

I have to admit that she is beautiful. I can see why Ward's parents chose her as a mate for him. Her beautiful blonde hair flows ef

WARDNone of us have left the King's office since Keena went missing. It has been two days and I am starting to feel crazy. No one explains to you how it feels to be away from your mate for an extended amount of time, especially when you don't know where your mate is. My parents continue to claim that they didn't know that Sylvia is a witch but I don't believe them. There is something that is off about their story. Sylvia just randomly shows up at their dig site and they just accepted her right away. Did they really want a mate for me so badly that they were willing to accept the first archeological nerd that they came across? Finally, King Erebus allows them to leave. "I think we are done with you two for now but you are not allowed to leave Lycan City until my daughter returns." "And if your daughter does not return?" My father asks hesitantly. "Then you and your wife will be charged with treason," the King says matter-of-factly. "Understood." My father gives my moth

  • The Lycan King's Rejected Daughter   Chapter 79

WARDI pull into the driveway of my parents house. Turning off the engine to my car I stare up at the house that I grew up in. Or rather the house that I was supposed to have grown up in. There are no childhood memories in this house. Just memories of being carted around the world. Sitting at dig sites while my parents looked for lycan and werewolf artifacts. I remember being about ten years old and we were in Egypt, I think. I remember looking at the beautiful murals that were on the inside of one of the lycan pyramids. I looked up at the mural of warriors fighting and protecting the pharaoh. I knew at that moment that is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I wanted to be a protector and that is exactly what I have become. Once I turned eighteen I sat my parents down and told them that I was joining the Royal Guard. The conversation did not go as well as I thought it would. I thought after decades of studying lycan warriors and werewolf warriors my parents wou

WARD"Sylvia?" I ask in confusion and Sylvia's eyes widen in shock as she looks at me. It is clear that neither one of us were expecting the other one to be at my parents house. We were expecting Sylvia to return but I did not think that she would be so bold to show up in the middle of Lycan City. As I look at the woman that is standing in front of me it makes me more confused than I was before. Sylvia is standing in front of me in tattered clothes. There are scrapes and burns all over her body.My mother comes rushing to my side and gasps out loudly when she sees Sylvia. "My dear child. What happened to you?" Grabbing Sylvia by the arm my mother drags her into our home. But I am not fooled by the act that Sylvia is putting on. "No," I growl. "She must go directly to the King and the Queen." Sylvia's eyes become wide with fear. "Please," she begs of me. "I didn't know what they had planned. I would have never taken her if I knew. I escaped to help you." "For God

  • The Lycan King's Rejected Daughter   Chapter 81

KEENA Sylvia left my room what feels like hours ago or maybe it has only been a few minutes. There is no window in my room. I do not know if it is day or night. All I know is that I need to find a way to get home to Ward. My heart aches without him by my side. I walk towards the only door in my room and quietly test the handle. It is locked. Just as I am about to turn my back on the door, there is a sharp knock on the door. It causes me to jump where I stand. I move halfway across the room before I call out for them to enter. The door to my room swings open and a small witch in blue robes walks in with a robe draped over her arms and a black gown in the other. She bows slightly to me before she walks in. "Princess," her voice is small and meek. "The High Priestess thought that you like to use the facilities before your meeting." "Where is Sylvia," I ask curiously. The little witch screws up her face at the mention of Sylvia. "She is indisposed. If you will

WARDThe world spins around me and then I am suddenly jerked to a stop. I fall to the ground with a thud and my stomach churns. Turning my head to the side I empty the contents of my stomach onto what I thought was the ground. "Ugh," I hear Sylvia gag. "He puked on my shoes." "Sorry," I mumble as I wipe the vomit from my lips. "Ever the gentleman," Sister Edith laughs as she tosses her cane to the side.Running her fingers over her hair, the elderly woman that I have grown to know over the past couple of months disappears and a beautiful young woman is standing above me. Sister Edith's dull silver hair has been replaced with fiery red hair and her blue eyes are now a deep shade of brown. The wrinkles that covered every inch of her face have now disappeared and nothing but smooth skin remains in its place. There is a sprinkling of freckles across her nose that gives her a youthful look. She could not look more different than Sister Edith. On my hands and knees I try to s

WARD I look down at the woman that is lying lifeless on the ground. Her head is twisted at an odd angle and her eyes are still opened wide in shock. "What do you mean I killed the wrong witch?" I try to growl at Sylvia but without my lycan it sounds a lot less intimidating. "I am telling you that I cannot leave this cell without the aid of someone that is actually in the coven," Sylvia spits at me. "Can't you bring her back to life or something?" I say looking at the dead witch on the floor. "No I can't bring her back to life," Sylvia screams. "I am barely eighteen. I just came into my powers. I don't know what I am doing." "You... you are barely eighteen?" I laugh sarcastically. "I am going to kill my mother when I leave this place." "Your mother loves you more than you know," Sylvia snaps at me and I just glare in her direction. "You don't know anything about my mother," I say angrily. "If you did you wouldn't have put yourself in this position." Bendin

  • The Lycan King's Rejected Daughter   Chapter 84

KEENA Sister Jasper stands in front of the marble door and mutters some sort of incantation under her breath. The moons on the door begin to glow brightly and I cannot help but watch in awe as the marble melts away leaving behind a simple wooden door. The door looks like it is hundreds of years old. There are cracks and splinters in the wood. It creaks loudly as Sister Jasper swings the door open. Sister Jasper leads me into a large circular room with a pentagram etched into the center of the floor. There is a high table that sits across from the door and there are seven cloaked figures seated behind it. All of their cloaked hoods are covering their faces so I cannot see who they are. But the one thing that I do notice is that all of their cloaks are different colors. This just isn't one coven. This is many of them. Many covens that were meant to be disbanded years ago. As Sister Jasper leads me into the center of the room and the bracelet that is around my wrist beg

  • The Lycan King's Rejected Daughter   Chapter 85

WARD We stand outside of the marble door and the scent of roses encompasses my senses and I know that my mate is in there. I run towards the door and try to push it open with my shoulder but a cold shock ripples through my body and throws me backwards. Shaking my head, I try to regain my wits before I stand back on my feet and try to barrel through the door again. Once again the cold shock knocks me backwards. "What are you doing?" Sylvia asks me with a weird look on her face. "I can smell her," I say angrily. "My mate is in there." Sylvia and her mother exchange an odd look with one another. Sylvia's mother raises her hand to the door and mumbles something under her breath. The phases of the moon glow brightly and the marble of the door melts away. Behind the marble is a tiny wooden door that looks like it is being held together by magic only. The wood is splintered and cracked. Before I have a chance to barrel through the wooden door, Sylvia's mother stands in fro

  • The Lycan King's Rejected Daughter   Book 2: Chapter 81

Willow POV Faris's body floats to the middle of Lycan City Lake, just like his father before him and his grandfather before that. Horns play loudly, signifying the beginning of the lighting ceremony. I watch from a distance as the leader of the Royal Guard raises his hand in the air, and three archers light the tips of their arrows with flames. The leader lowers his hand, and the arrows fly into the air before hitting their mark. As Faris's body is engulfed in flames, I find myself shedding a tear. Not for the man Faris was at the end of his life, but for the man he was before I became his assassin. The uncle who would sneak me out of my house with his mate and feed me ice cream before dinner. The uncle who never missed a school event and treated me like his own flesh and blood even though I was not. Liz pulls at my black dress and looks up at me with her bright green eyes. "Are you okay?" She whispers, pulling my attention away from the end of my uncle's ceremony. "I'm

Willow POV As I watch Endora’s ashes fly away, the runes on my back begin to burn. It feels like someone has poured salt on an open wound. I drop to my knees and claw at my skin through my shirt. My mother and Cordelia rush to my side, ripping my shirt off my body. I look at the runes on my arms, and they are glowing bright red. “What is happening?” I cry out in pain. “Since Endora has been killed, your link to the Coven of the Lunar Star is broken,” Cordelia tries to smile even though I am in pain. “The magical bindings they put on your skin are breaking down.” “They are disappearing?” I ask as I attempt to get to my feet, but my knees buckle under my weight. Exhaustion has finally caught up with me. Wincing through the pain, I look at Faris lying beside me. His face looks peaceful like he is sleeping. I look around me, and all of the fighting has stopped. Faris’s Royal guards must have felt this tether to the pack break when he died. Now they are all on bended knee

  • The Lycan King's Rejected Daughter   Book 2: Chapter 79

Willow POV My two-hour training session turned into five hours. By the time Cordelia is done with me, my arms feel like jello. My feet drag as I walk from the training area back to the farmhouse. I am exhausted, and I cannot wait to crawl into bed for a few hours before Osiris wakes me. As I approach the farmhouse, my heart sinks. A group of rogue warriors is already gathered outside of the farmhouse. Osiris is standing on the porch giving them a speech. When he sees me, he raises his hand and gestures for me to join him. Mumbling obscenities under my breath as I approach Osiris, I realize I am not getting my nap. Plastering a fake smile on my face, I stand beside Osiris. Osiris wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me in close to him. My fake smile turns into a real one as I feel the tingles of the mate bond spread throughout my skin. Osiris's shoulders relax as I nuzzle into his side. He wraps his arm tightly around my waist and continues his speech. "We were att

Faris POV I leave Natacha sleeping in my bed. Her new mark shimmers under the morning light shining into the room. I had expected her mark to match the one I had given Kayla, but it is different. A beautiful rose blooming under a full moon now resides on her neck. Natacha had been more than willing to accept my mark. The lovemaking between us had been patient and gentle. I was worried about hurting the pup that grows within her. But when it came time for Natacha to mark me in return, I couldn't let it happen. It felt too much like I was replacing Kayla. Natacha pretended she understood, but I could feel her pain through the bond between us. She was disappointed. Pulling on a pair of sweats and a t-shirt, I head into the office that adjoins my bedroom. Sitting down at my desk, I begin to make plans on when and how to attack the rogue camp. But my heart isn't in it. Now that I know I have an heir, nothing else seems to matter. It all feels petty. "Why shouldn't I let

Willow POV After much negotiation with the doctor, he finally agrees to let me leave the hospital. The wound on my neck is almost healed. I have not been brave enough to look at it. I don't want to see the damage that Osiris has done to me. After taking a shower in the tiny hospital bathroom, I open the bag of clothes that Osiris brought me from the farmhouse. I roll my eyes when I see a pair of bright red lace panties and a matching bra. Sticking my head out of the bathroom, I hiss at Osiris. "You couldn't have brought something more comfortable?" There is a mischievous grin on his face. "They looked comfortable to me," he chuckles. I shut the door in frustration, and I begin to pull on the leather pants and black t-shirt. I pull my hair up into a ponytail and walk back out into the hospital room. But there is no one in there. I peek out of my hospital room and see nurses and doctors frantically running toward the entrance of the hospital. I can hear the sounds of

Faris POV It is the wee hours of the morning when I finally return to the royal mansion, but the mansion is already buzzing with activity. I quietly slip past all of the Omegas who have already started their morning chores. I go upstairs and past the room that Natacha is staying in. Her scent of lavender and roses is wafting through the door. She barely smells like a rogue anymore, and I wonder if it is because she is carrying my child. Slowly, I turn the doorknob, and I am surprised to find it is unlocked. The door opens with a slight creek, causing me to cringe. I consider walking away, but curiosity draws me further into her room. Natacha is sleeping peacefully. I have to admit she is beautiful. Not as beautiful as my Kayla, but still beautiful nonetheless. Tiny puffs of breath leave her full lips as she sleeps. She is sleeping in an oversized t-shirt. A smile crosses my lips when I realize the t-shirt is one I had left behind at her apartment. The t-shirt has ridd

Osiris POV Ella grabs my hand and teleports back to the hospital. The wind swirls in the sky as the witch sisters appear out of nowhere beside us. I am unsteady on my feet as the world comes back into focus. "I don't think I will ever get used to that," I grumble as I choke back the vomit rising in my throat. "You will get used to it over time," Ella says as she gently rubs my back. I shrug off Ella's hand and turn to the four witches. "We don't have time to lose," I say. "We need to get to Willow." Once I have regained my balance, I head into the hospital with the witches following behind me. As we walk through the halls, people scatter away from me and the women walking with me. Whispers follow us through the corridors. Many of my pack members have not seen so many witches together in one place, and their eyes follow us as we make our way to Willow's hospital room. As we approach Willow's room, the doctor is waiting for us. He looks the witches up and down before o

Faris POV Natacha follows me into the royal mansion, keeping her head down. As we walk through the mansion, I can hear the whispers coming from the Omega servants. They are wondering why I have willingly brought a rogue into Lycan City. My personal Omega, Jessica, is leaving my bedroom when I reach the top floor of the royal mansion. Her face blushes deeply when she looks at me but quickly disappears when she lays eyes on Natacha. Jessica's nose wrinkles as she catches Natacha's rogue scent, and a scowl tugs at her lips. "How can I help you, Your Highness?" Jessica says with a fake smile spread across her face. "This is my close friend, Natacha. I need you to set her up in the room next to mine," I instruct Jessica. Jessica doesn't try to hide her displeasure at the thought of a rogue staying within the royal mansion, but still, she gestures for Natacha to follow her down the hall. Natacha hesitates to follow the young Omega. "Are you coming with me?" She asks nervou
