Dimitri POV

I tapped my fingers impatiently on the table, awaiting David's return. He'd been tasked with gathering intel on the rogue attacks.

Layla Rose, my fiancée, approached me, her eyes batting seductively. "What's wrong, babe?" she asked.

I growled, shrugging off her gentle touch. "Don't touch me."

My tone was menacing, and Layla's face fell. I ascended to my office, leaving her behind.

Our arrangement was strategic; her family's wealth and influence would strengthen my pack. But my thoughts drifted to Katherine, the omega girl.

Last night's stalking had only deepened my intrigue. Her connection to the Woodland pack's alpha and beta was clear. I despised the Woodland pack's arrogance and the alpha's condescending attitude.

A knock on the door broke my reverie. "Enter."

David, my beta and closest ally, bowed upon entering.

"What took you so long?" I demanded, snatching the files from his hand.

He shrugged, taking a seat opposite me.
