Alicia's POV

The moment I anticipated one last deep cut, a notification came from a thick voice guard "The Princess of Oceania has arrived, your Highness!!!"

"I will be there in a few minutes" he answered.

"Yes, your Highness," the guard answered loudly.

"I want to go back" I whispered. "Just let me go. I promise not to tell anyone about the Prince in disguise" I weep as my lips tremble.

I was beginning to feel feverish.

"You are still as naive as I could remember. You are not leaving until I tell you to. It's a command, not a statement and if you try to escape, you will be killed by the security guards before I might show up. Be obedient" He muttered rudely and motioned towards the entrance of the majestically built room.

I followed behind while blood continued to drop from my neck. I placed my hand on the spot to stop the bleeding until two guards tugged me from the back. I cried out but one of them hurriedly used his strong hand to clasp my mouth.

Arnold didn't make a move about noticing my disappearance from his back.

Slowly, I began to feel unconscious till darkness enveloped me.

A week later~~~~~

"His Highness summoned you" the head of the maid quivered and urged me away from the heap of clothes I was washing.

"Why is he calling me?" I frowned and touched my bruised neck which still hurt like hell even though it got treated before I regained consciousness a few days ago.

The heads of maids stared at me like I had grown two strong horns. "If you know that your parents still need you to be their daughter, run like a chased cheetah to the chamber" she ordered.

"I do not have a parent though" I murmured and walked out of the backyard sluggishly.

The part I was residing in was the least beautified part of the palace. You are restricted to so many things including the time to say a word.

I prefer and miss the Prime minister's household.

I had not made any friends among the ladies and I wasn't ready to have any at the moment. I heard them gossiping about the dangerous and inhuman things Arnold had done to people who defied him and I couldn't help it but get rattled.

The one I had lived all my life was now a totally different person. A devil, not an ordinary but a low-life devil.

However, a tiny hope still lingers in the profound part of my heart about his regard for me even after I heard that he was going to get married to the princess of the neighbouring Nation, Oceania.

Arnold is a bastard and I am a callow maid.

I stare at my hand which had gotten peeled from excess washing of clothes.

The guard glared at me in an indication for me to hasten my steps. I obeyed and walked faster.

I was led to a room that was different from the one I was taken to before.

Without raising my head and eyes, as I was feeling a shade of contempt toward Arnold, I knelt and bowed down while the guard exited the chamber.

"Rise" Arnold muttered in a boring tone.

I arose with my eyes lowered to the neatly tiled floor.

"Look up dear," an annoying feminine voice urges.

My heart shattered to see a shirtless Arnold with a princess-like dressed woman rubbing his chest.

I had promised not to cry.

I can't, I won't

I continued to chant to myself while my eyes became blurry.

I was too weak to bear it and I did the exact thing they wanted me to feel.

Miserable.

I couldn't control my feelings as tears fell from my eyes.

"Those are forbidden!" Arnold thundered and stretched his muscles.

"Don't be annoyed darling. It's bound to happen. Ladies tend to feel hurt when they find their mates intimate with another individual. Their wolf cries and yearns for one, " She smiles mockingly and pinches his breast.

Aaron groaned at her seducing acts and pecked her cheek as he relaxed himself on the enormous chair. "I'm the luckiest man in the world. I can't wait to claim you when the time comes" he smirked and touched her palms affectionately.

"It's within your limit, your Highness. I have told you several times that you can do whatever you want. We are getting married soon and I will be your queen while you rule the great Genovia. You love me don't you?" She mewled seductively while tears gushed out of my eyes.

It hurts.

I couldn't bear to listen to his reply and without thinking twice, I stood up to walk away.

I heard a faint gasp from the Princess and I stood still after realizing my action.

What have I done?

"Allow me to intervene, your Highness," she muttered.

He probably permitted her as I felt her pull me by my hair.

I winced at the pain while she pushed me on my knees.

She scoffed.

"Your Highness, am I missing something? This tiny lady is capable of disrespecting you! What is happening?" She winced and strode to Arnold.

"Fatou, I told you about an ore mine didn't I?" Arnold began.

The mention of the ore mine made the Princess whom I realize goes by the name Fatou calm. She settled beside Arnold and listened carefully.

"This slave is the only one that knows the whereabouts of the mine. I don't want her dead for now" he declared, earning a gasp from the dramatic Fatou.

"What do we do about that? I still can't believe that she's your mate," she stated with a disgusted expression.

"Don't call her that," he warned.

"I'm sorry" she apologized.

From his casual interaction with Fatou, It seems that he is in love with her. My mind got occupied with the reality of what was going on in my front.

Arnold is not mine anymore. We are now strangers, probably foes

"You can leave" He dismissed me and I scampered out without looking back.

**

In the middle of the night, after working non-stop. I have no idea why half of the works of the low-status maid were distributed to me.

At the same time, I couldn't complain.

I carefully lay on the tiny bed and wrapped the gown around myself. It was cold and my other two clothes were not an option because they were my uniforms.

I shivered continuously till someone spread a warm and thick blanket on me. My eyes became teary at the comfort of the blanket and I looked up to see one of the maids. I recognized her as the only one who didn't give me her laundry to take care of.

She held a pitiful stare that made me feel vulnerable. I was on the edge of crying again.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"Yeah," I faked a smile.

"I want you to feel warm before the guards get here. I sighted them from afar and it seems they are here for you" she declared and my heart dropped.

"I had always wanted to sneak into your room but I am scared that the others will see that I'm nice to you. Are you anyhow acquainted with His Highness?" She asked curiously but I shifted to stare at the wall.

"We were ordered to treat you that way. I don't want you to see us as bad people. His Highness must not know that we are lenient with you. I only heard that when he is angry, he executes his offender without mercy. But why is he being cruel to you?" She continues and I rashly fling the blanket away from my body.

Feeling sympathy and still making me recall the reason for my misery.

"You ought…"

"You are summoned Alicia" the head of the maid bagged in.

I ran without being sluggish like the last in the morning as I had gotten more chores from the instruction of one of the guards.

When we got to the chamber, I met a naked Arnold sitting on the bed. My heart skipped as I stepped backward.

"Don't dare to take a step backward!" he hollered.

"What do you want from me?" I cried out.

"Strip" he commanded.

The word made me feel numb. At that position, my soul cried for my deceased parents.

He yanked me by my arm with one swift motion and shoved me to his bed. I tucked my knees into my legs and quivered backwards while still whimpering. I closed my eyes and clasped my hands together as tears dropped continuously. My head was banging earnestly. Arnold sank his knee on the bed and motioned towards me with his manhood dangling shamelessly by his moves. I stiffened when he lowered his mouth to my ear. He then whispered "You don't dare disobey me, Alicia. I don't do mercy. You felt the attraction and arousal in the afternoon, didn't you?""Answer me!" He howled and I sobbed out with my tiny voice. I composed myself and nodded my head. My eyes itch. I was vulnerable. Aaron suddenly snickered, "Will you tell me the location of the ore mine or should I continue?""I will tell you, your Highness"

  • The Luna's guardian   The outcome of extreme hunger

Alicia's POV I was feeling edgy every time I saw the guards scoop their food into their mouths as begging them for some food seemed to be the only option left since the evil server did not show up. I couldn't bear the hunger again and I resolved to wander over to the other side to beg for food but as I was ambling towards that direction, I heard murmurs and silent laughter from the guards that were settling opposite where I was situated. I continued walking and the laughter resumed until I abruptly got dragged into a nearby corner in between two tents. It earned a surprise howl from the guards. I made an effort to cry out but my mouth was covered which made me unable to make any more sounds. The anonymous limped me farther away from the crowded location to through the backyard of the tents. He suddenly halted and shoved me away. I winced as my already weak bone hit a tree. "What do you want from me?" I requested and shifted away as suspicion was slowly building up. Wait w

Alicia's POVThere was a solemn silence. A quietness that took an extended time than I had anticipated.I challenged the likelihood of Arnold standing before us and made an effort to peep. I lifted my head slowly but my eyes only met with the vicious smirk of a guard instead. The guard seems like he was delighted that the half-burnt guard was in trouble. "Abel, meet me later" Arnold muttered softer than I had predicted. "Yes, your Highness" the half-burnt guy who I now acknowledge as Abel responded."And you," Arnold sneered and lingered, "Come with me" he instructed. I have no idea why I wasn't spooked nor fearsome of anything he would do and with the way his voice chimed harshly, I bet his facial expression was like a rotten tomato.Humph!I waited for him to leave before bringing up my head. I stood up to stroll out of the kitchen tent when Abel stood up also and suddenly cautioned "Be careful of your words in front of His Highness. Don't act abnormal as you had jus

Alicia's POV Arnold tweaked his knuckles and proposed coldly "I want you to be my mistress"My heart slipped and my heart clenched tightly as I was beginning to breathe in short gasps but thankfully, I was able to compose myself as I was already used to getting disgruntled by him. I fluttered my eyes severally to rub out the signs of tears that were threatening to fall from my eyes.I gazed at my foot and lifted my head to stare at him but before I could mutter a word, he declared "I will get married to the Princess of Oceania in a few weeks. Having you as my mistress is a one-in-a-million opportunity, especially because you are a servant"My internal system coiled in repulsion. I was mute as I was fighting between speaking humbly or yelling at him and taking the repercussions later. Alicia's POV My eyes slowly fluttered open. They took some time to adjust to the sunlight shining through the tent window. I stretched my arms and legs which were feeling a bit stiff and creaky from my slumber. I yawned like I was feeling sleepy but then I realized how late it was in the morning after hearing the chirping of birds. I had been awake most of the night because of Abel's impulsive temperature. I took it as my responsibility to take care of him. It was a bit tough. After Arnold walked out of the tent yesterday, he had come back to check on Abel and since then, I have not seen him. I huffed and sat up. I do not know when I ended up in a profound trance. I was like that until my attention was distracted when Abel jerked. He groans in pain and tries to open his eyes. He was looking exceptionally pale. I hurriedly scampered to meet one of the patrols to tell me the direction of the Royal physician's tent. The physician hurried to Abel and forced a liquid medicine into

Alicia's POV A ghosted feeling washes through Abel's face as I mention poisoning Layla. He gazed at me like I had gone psycho. He looked offended and probably concerned about my mental health until I realized the way I had portrayed my intention. "I mean…I had always dreamt of dancing in front of wealthy people. I want to perform tonight instead of Layla. I didn't mean to say that you should kill her or something. I just…" I wriggled my fingers anxiously and proceeded, "I want to fulfill my dream even if it's just once in my lifetime, and I see today as a scarce opportunity. The only one that can help me to achieve this is you, my friend" I put in more effort to convince him. Abel felt exhausted by the process. I was putting him through so much trouble. He had not approved to assist me until I asked him curiously "Can you please describe the physical features of Prince Arnold's opponent?" "What do you mean by…You mean Prince Cone?" he implied. I was ready to dance like someone distinguished to snatch a spouse. I smirked and got dominated by boldness when I felt the eyes of the majority of the men lingering on me. Although… My face was not open, but with the way my outfit fit me like a glove and the way it accentuated my attractive figure, I was confident to grip at least a powerful man or probably Prince Cone.I bowed in respect to Arnold who was sitting on a golden throne-like chair. I also noticed the way his eyes twitched and tightened. He was obviously struggling to contain his emotions. I could only pinpoint that he felt a surge of possessiveness and anger from the way he clenched his fist. His reaction kind of made me shiver in dread that he might try to stop me. I quickly moved sideways to greet all the Royalty dressed men. I tried to figure out the one that was Cone a

Alicia's POV A month later~~~~~ Anastasia was among the ladies who assisted with treating the wounded soldiers and guards. She gave details on how Fatou had assisted and sneaked out the maids as none of the powerful Royal family was in the palace to control anything. She explained that Fatou had warned a maid not to call Arnold's wife as her mission in Genovia was done. Apparently, she had married Arnold for a reason which included a mission to take back a treasure that belonged to Oceania and to snitch about the Genovia system and the activities going on in the country to her father, but unfortunately, Arnold had caught her in the process, and they had bargained to help each other out. Those times she had acted jealous were all planned. Our palace is located close to my parent's burial ground since Arnold didn't want to go back to Genovia as he insisted that the place was his nightmare that brought back his pastThe great Genovia collapsed within the twinkle of an eye and other c

Just quietly follow me. With you by my side, I am very sure to conquer the enemy" he hugged me and I nodded my head with tears still streaming down from my cheek. At that moment, I suddenly doubt if I deserve Arnold. Arnold took me on a wild ride on a horse. The journey was down to a faraway path where extremely high mountains are located. At that place, we met Abel and Arnold's other strong-faced guard whom I had forgotten his name. There were other soldiers also, and it made me wonder if they had been planning to attack Genovia. From my estimation of those who were a bit from us, I could count them as about five hundred of them. I w

Alicia's POV I knew Arnold was battling with conflicted emotions. I knew that he was trying so hard not to break down tremendously. His mother died and he had to dine with her killers. For years he had carried the wounds and blames even though he only meant well for his people. I can't give him full assurance for his betrayal but I will support him as much as I can. Deep down I just hoped the letter I had given Cone wouldn't sneak out some of his plans as I now comprehended that he has good intentions. If the Royal family knows about any of his plans beforehand, they might use it against him. From what I learned from my father because I was always with him while my mother controlled the affairs of the Park. Father told me that the people are the power of a leader. If the majority of the citizens are against their leader, and they cooperate for what they want, there is nothing the leader can do but please them. With the fact that Arnold wasn't a legitimate son, it wouldn't take lo

She had written that your Park was trying to fight against Genovia because you discovered an ore mine. She intended to get all the ore mine for us alone without knowing that the Genovians are the master of evil plans or probably, she had other plans for doing such a thing. The mention of forming a coup on Genovia made them embark on an unexpected attack on your Park, and our ignorance of the location of the ore mine made them move on hard on my Park." I pledged to him and focused on that. I didn't know that my consolation was just blank because my stepmother, Abel's mother, had peeked and overhead us when we were talking." he says which made me raise an eyebrow but I didn't want to interrupt him. Ooh…that explains everything. Abel was Arnold's brother but not related by blood. Does that make them step-brothers too?!Oh yeah. That explains it. But how come I never knew he had a brother by the name of Abel? I only knew Jason. "Are you not surprised by that?" Arnold chuckled bitterly. "Stop already," I scolded but he hastily pushed it into my mouth. I stared at him with an unsatisfying expression, but he was rather pleased that he had won. "Eat" he urged and munched on the piece of meat he took for himself. Throughout our eating session, anytime I told him that I was filled up, he would rub my stomach to be assured. If he isn't satisfied with the swelling of my stomach, he won't agree and exhorts me to continue eating until I silently yell at him. "Let's go to my room," Arnold lets out. I only took a shower, brushed my teeth, and went back to dress up. My friend helped me style my hair neatly, and without eating breakfast, I walked out to the entrance of the quarters. I was stunned to see them still there. I slightly bowed and then stared at them one after the other. I recognized one as Princess Micah's personal male guard, the second one as Cone's guard, and the last one was unrecognizable, but was probably a guard of a Prince as my friend mentioned.
