Alicia's POV

Arnold angrily stormed towards me. The smirking guard hurried to us with the thought that their Prince wanted to mishandle me. Instead, Arnold hauled me in his arms and threw me to his back as if I weighed nothing.

What the hell?!

I was embarrassed by the reaction of the cook and guards. I badly wanted to jerk out of his grasp but I settled for a humble manner. After walking deep into the mountains, I sought Arnold's attention and whispered to him "I need to get down"

He dropped me on the rough cliff and I almost stumbled into an unnoticeable but deep hole. I winced in misery and silently cursed at him. He didn't turn back to stare at me nor did the guards attempt to help me up.

I wailed dramatically and it made all of them halt. Do they even know where they are heading?

"Will you get up or I instruct them to lug you over?" Arnold seeks my answer without glancing back.

I dragged myself up and scurried to meet them. I felt someone's eye on me and I gli

Alicia's POV My eyes slowly fluttered open. They took some time to adjust to the sunlight shining through the tent window. I stretched my arms and legs which were feeling a bit stiff and creaky from my slumber. I yawned like I was feeling sleepy but then I realized how late it was in the morning after hearing the chirping of birds. I had been awake most of the night because of Abel's impulsive temperature. I took it as my responsibility to take care of him. It was a bit tough. After Arnold walked out of the tent yesterday, he had come back to check on Abel and since then, I have not seen him. I huffed and sat up. I do not know when I ended up in a profound trance. I was like that until my attention was distracted when Abel jerked. He groans in pain and tries to open his eyes. He was looking exceptionally pale. I hurriedly scampered to meet one of the patrols to tell me the direction of the Royal physician's tent. The physician hurried to Abel and forced a liquid medicine into

  • The Luna's guardian   Ready for a mission

Alicia's POV A ghosted feeling washes through Abel's face as I mention poisoning Layla. He gazed at me like I had gone psycho. He looked offended and probably concerned about my mental health until I realized the way I had portrayed my intention. "I mean…I had always dreamt of dancing in front of wealthy people. I want to perform tonight instead of Layla. I didn't mean to say that you should kill her or something. I just…" I wriggled my fingers anxiously and proceeded, "I want to fulfill my dream even if it's just once in my lifetime, and I see today as a scarce opportunity. The only one that can help me to achieve this is you, my friend" I put in more effort to convince him. Abel felt exhausted by the process. I was putting him through so much trouble. He had not approved to assist me until I asked him curiously "Can you please describe the physical features of Prince Arnold's opponent?" "What do you mean by…You mean Prince Cone?" he implied. "I can't recall his name, but I do

  • The Luna's guardian   Eye contact

Alicia's POV I strode into the well-elaborated hall with a purpose of grace, head held high and body exuding an air of elegance and sophistication. I was ready to dance like someone distinguished to snatch a spouse. I smirked and got dominated by boldness when I felt the eyes of the majority of the men lingering on me. Although… My face was not open, but with the way my outfit fit me like a glove and the way it accentuated my attractive figure, I was confident to grip at least a powerful man or probably Prince Cone.I bowed in respect to Arnold who was sitting on a golden throne-like chair. I also noticed the way his eyes twitched and tightened. He was obviously struggling to contain his emotions. I could only pinpoint that he felt a surge of possessiveness and anger from the way he clenched his fist. His reaction kind of made me shiver in dread that he might try to stop me. I quickly moved sideways to greet all the Royalty dressed men. I tried to figure out the one that was Cone a

"It's another reason why she should be trained thoroughly before she starts her activities" The prince who mentioned that I serve him attempts to make Arnold recall his promise. He was already whipped. How shameful that this was coming from a Prince of Genovia. A Bali dance is truly the weakness of their men. "You can leave" Arnold dismissed. I veered around but I heard a Prince whisper to Cone "Don't you think that Arnold is acting differently unlike his usual self? Was the stony being finally attracted to a woman? This dancer is truly a vixen" I gazed at Cone one last time and strolled out of the hall. The guests were staring at me in wonder expressions until I was out of the hall. I tumbled on the floor where the Palanquin was placed. The guards and the woman who escorted me here appreciated me, but I shunned them to leave me for a few minutes. They agreed a

  • The Luna's guardian   My trainer

Alicia's POV A month later~~~~ It has been a tough month for me. I almost overlooked my scheme of wanting to serve Prince Cone, as my days throughout the month were spent with training. The only moment I spent interacting with people was during the late night at the quarters and the weekends with my lady trainer.I didn't set my eyes on Abel most of the month. That day at the garden, Arnold apprised me about him as my trainer. I recalled that I almost strangled myself by the news but of course, I had no say in making decisions for myself which gave me no room to oppose. I would applaud Arnold as the harshest master ever. I thank God that female servants are banned in his villa because if I were mistakenly assigned to his villa, I would consider it a nightmare. Days when I was training, Arnold would strain his cold eyes on me all day or leave me in the garden to attend to some business while I continued practicing. He wouldn't point out my mistake and he would make me do it o

  • The Luna's guardian   Cutting off the restraint

Arnold's POV I knew that if Alicia stepped an inch closer to me, my agenda would be influenced. It's a profound reason why I let her reside at the Prime Minister's for two years without summoning her. I was close to ascending the throne after years of agony, danger, and misery. Each time, my so-called siblings will make up theories that cause obstacles. The latest one was that they made up a perfect rumor and forged evidence that espouses that I had murdered our late father who was the Emperor of Genovia. It takes a lot not to wring the neck of all of them in their numbers. Every time I see them, I always feel a wave of disgust. Bunch of idiots. They should all wait while I ascend the throne because nothing will stop me from doing what I wish.Just to ascend the throne. So many occasions when I had escaped assassination which I knew was carried out by these siblings. All of them except Cone are very much gullible for someone to rule Genovia which had caused our father to make

  • The Luna's guardian   I just want to go

Alicia's POV I gazed at Arnold mistrustfully, "What are you talking about your Highness?" I queried worriedly. He stared at me blankly and responded in a soothing voice "Do you want me to marry Fatou? You like me, don't you?" I scoffed unbelievably before I could stop myself "I won't dare to possess those types of feelings. That is not even possible. It's never happening, over my dead body"Within the wink of an eye, Arnold yanked me down on the mattress and covered me. He pinned my hands to the bed with his strong hands. I wheezed in fear at the realization of my words, but surprisingly, he didn't retain any violent expression. "And who said anyone can have you aside from me?! You are mine, Alicia. We were born to be together" he growled and hit his hand on the bed. I cringed in fear as my body went emotionless. I was mute and stiffened. Arnold noticed my behaviour and quickly got off me. He lugged me to sit on his lap and slowly massage my back "You are too stubborn" he

  • The Luna's guardian   Coronation

Alicia's POV "You want to serve Cone?!" he bellowed and hit his hand on a crystal chandelier hanging horizontally to his bed. The noise of the collection of jewelry and gems he tugged away from a glass table made me tremble in terror again. I couldn't help but feel a sense of danger, and a strong desire to escape the situation when I realized that he was in a rebellious state of mind. My heart aches and the only description I could give him is an angry monster. Abel dashed into the room. He was breathing heavily and he sharpened an accusation look at me which made me quiver in fear. I opened my mouth to defend myself but he bobbed his head in a way that implies that he trusts me. Abel recklessly escorts me out of Arnold's chamber. He called the attention of a guard standing at the narrow passage. He told him to take me to the maid's quarter as I was still fluttering and sweating profusely. I watched Abel as he rushed back to the room. In the night~~~~~ The horrifying scene that

  • The Luna's guardian   Forever, our love conquers

Alicia's POV A month later~~~~~ Anastasia was among the ladies who assisted with treating the wounded soldiers and guards. She gave details on how Fatou had assisted and sneaked out the maids as none of the powerful Royal family was in the palace to control anything. She explained that Fatou had warned a maid not to call Arnold's wife as her mission in Genovia was done. Apparently, she had married Arnold for a reason which included a mission to take back a treasure that belonged to Oceania and to snitch about the Genovia system and the activities going on in the country to her father, but unfortunately, Arnold had caught her in the process, and they had bargained to help each other out. Those times she had acted jealous were all planned. Our palace is located close to my parent's burial ground since Arnold didn't want to go back to Genovia as he insisted that the place was his nightmare that brought back his pastThe great Genovia collapsed within the twinkle of an eye and other c

  • The Luna's guardian   On the battlefield

Alicia's POV"I had thought it was the best way to get revenge on you. I thought it's best to cooperate with Cone us better. I never thought...that…" I stammered in fear. I was already losing the strength in me, and I was ready for death if that's the case. I was so fatigued and weary. Arnold suddenly kissed me on the lips "The deed has been done. Just quietly follow me. With you by my side, I am very sure to conquer the enemy" he hugged me and I nodded my head with tears still streaming down from my cheek. At that moment, I suddenly doubt if I deserve Arnold. Arnold took me on a wild ride on a horse. The journey was down to a faraway path where extremely high mountains are located. At that place, we met Abel and Arnold's other strong-faced guard whom I had forgotten his name. There were other soldiers also, and it made me wonder if they had been planning to attack Genovia. From my estimation of those who were a bit from us, I could count them as about five hundred of them. I w

  • The Luna's guardian   The fight for freedom

Alicia's POV Princess Micah's eyes were glaring over. She was flinching and shrinking as blood kept gushing out of her stomach. Her stomach was entirely shredded like the murderer had something hidden in it. It looked like the murder had just occurred recently as the blood was fresh. My legs felt too heavy to move as the scene made my body shiver terribly. The first statement that rang in my head was "If only I had gone inside the tent earlier"All of a sudden, I felt her hand stir even in this condition. I rushed to her and grabbed her arm. "Your Highness, what happened? Just hold on for me, ple..ase. I need to go and r.. raise the alarm!" I stuttered and tried to rush outside, but she tapped me instead. I wept bitterly as blood burst out of her mouth when she wanted to speak, "My baby," she touched her bleeding stomach "Is there a way to save my baby?" What baby is she talking about?"Let me go and check for the Royal doctor. Please, my Princess please don't do this to me. oh

  • The Luna's guardian   Alluring days

Alicia's POV I knew Arnold was battling with conflicted emotions. I knew that he was trying so hard not to break down tremendously. His mother died and he had to dine with her killers. For years he had carried the wounds and blames even though he only meant well for his people. I can't give him full assurance for his betrayal but I will support him as much as I can. Deep down I just hoped the letter I had given Cone wouldn't sneak out some of his plans as I now comprehended that he has good intentions. If the Royal family knows about any of his plans beforehand, they might use it against him. From what I learned from my father because I was always with him while my mother controlled the affairs of the Park. Father told me that the people are the power of a leader. If the majority of the citizens are against their leader, and they cooperate for what they want, there is nothing the leader can do but please them. With the fact that Arnold wasn't a legitimate son, it wouldn't take lo

  • The Luna's guardian   Golden ring

Alicia's POVI wiped the tears away from his eyes and he held my hand passionately "My suicide option cleared off my mind a bit when I saw Abel. On that spot, he said he wanted to tell me that his mother had mastered my writing, bribed the guard that was sent to Genovia, and had written more notes on the letter we had sent about them assisting us. She had written that your Park was trying to fight against Genovia because you discovered an ore mine. She intended to get all the ore mine for us alone without knowing that the Genovians are the master of evil plans or probably, she had other plans for doing such a thing. The mention of forming a coup on Genovia made them embark on an unexpected attack on your Park, and our ignorance of the location of the ore mine made them move on hard on my Park." Arnold and I wept bitterly. He tugged my head to himself and placed his head on it. I whimpered loudly until I began to hiccup. Arnold was mute for some time before he proceeded. "Abel w

  • The Luna's guardian   The whole truth

Alicia's POV"It was so hard to accept that I was a son to another man, but I did after he died. I consoled myself that since no one knows, it shouldn't bother me. He had taken care of me and nothing mattered as long as everyone knew that he was my father. He made me pledge to him to take very good care of the Park even though things were hard at that time. I pledged to him and focused on that. I didn't know that my consolation was just blank because my stepmother, Abel's mother, had peeked and overhead us when we were talking." he says which made me raise an eyebrow but I didn't want to interrupt him. Ooh…that explains everything. Abel was Arnold's brother but not related by blood. Does that make them step-brothers too?!Oh yeah. That explains it. But how come I never knew he had a brother by the name of Abel? I only knew Jason. "Are you not surprised by that?" Arnold chuckled bitterly. "Not really" I shrugged my shoulders with my head still on his shoulder. "Why?" he quer

  • The Luna's guardian   No sympathy

Alicia's POV Arnold held up a piece of the perfectly grilled chicken to my mouth, but I tightened my lips in rejection. He places it in my mouth like that for minutes. It was like we were competing on who would give in first. I couldn't keep my lips like that anymore and out of exhaustion, it made me end up loosening my lips. "Stop already," I scolded but he hastily pushed it into my mouth. I stared at him with an unsatisfying expression, but he was rather pleased that he had won. "Eat" he urged and munched on the piece of meat he took for himself. Throughout our eating session, anytime I told him that I was filled up, he would rub my stomach to be assured. If he isn't satisfied with the swelling of my stomach, he won't agree and exhorts me to continue eating until I silently yell at him. "Let's go to my room," Arnold lets out. He hauled me in his arms before I could reply. When he got into his room, he gently positioned me at the edge of his Emperor-size bed and started pulling h

  • The Luna's guardian   The destructive letter

Alicia's POV "Three guards are outside waiting for you! You need to hurriedly shower, and go meet them" My gossip friend shrieked, and pulled me to stand up "I know that you might be tired, but swears all three of them are the personal guards of each Royal individual" she explained further to me who was dozing off while moving to the direction of the bathroom. I only took a shower, brushed my teeth, and went back to dress up. My friend helped me style my hair neatly, and without eating breakfast, I walked out to the entrance of the quarters. I was stunned to see them still there. I slightly bowed and then stared at them one after the other. I recognized one as Princess Micah's personal male guard, the second one as Cone's guard, and the last one was unrecognizable, but was probably a guard of a Prince as my friend mentioned. I wondered what their masters could want from me in the early hours of the morning. "I got here before anyone. Let's go, you do not want to keep the Princess w

  • The Luna's guardian   The villain in disguise

An unknown person's POV "Did you witness the drama that occurred at the court today, Alphonse?" I snickered as I recalled Arnold's replay. "Yes, your Majesty" he nodded his head in disbelief. "Do you believe him?" I ask and smirked but my guard finds it difficult to answer. Everyone else would find it difficult because it wasn't Arnold's thing to say something like that. No one would easily detect him except someone who is extremely observant and has been observing his moves for a long time.No matter how amusing Arnold's tale is, it doesn't change the fact that he has changed. The normal Arnold wouldn't care but rather focus on tormenting the maid even if she wasn't at fault. Today's Arnold wasn't the vicious bastard I used to know. I knew it from that day the Alicia lady had danced. She was someone dear to him. I had wanted to keep a closer look, but it got more intense after it seemed like their relationship was more interesting than I thought. After all these years I had wait
