I quickly wipe my face to clear it from my eyes, pulling my hand back to see it coated in red. I turn toward the men on the ground as a sinking feeling clenches in my stomach.
Derek’s body jerks and is thrown onto the ground closer to my feet. I stare into his empty eyes, as his throat is shredded beyond belief and an hole torn in his chest has red flowing and soaking the forest floor.
A small shriek starts to come out of me before a hand clamped itself over my mouth. I look up at Damien’s face, his eyes so black I couldn't see any white and red veins spread across his eye sockets. This wasn’t a face I recognized and a sense of panic tears through me as I struggle to get away.
“Stop.” Damien commands, but his voice rough. I could feel a hot tear slipping and running do
The Alpha threw Derek’s severed head onto the ground with a growl. Multiple shrieks went out as it rolled.Jax gripped onto my arms tighter and I flinched at the pain of it. I could see Aeron take a step closer to us as I glanced up at him with a confused look. He was glaring at where Jax was holding me.“Jax, stop.” I whisper. Jax looks down at me and let's go in shock and kisses the top of my head. I look back at Aeron and squint my eyes in annoyance as he flashes me a smirk and turns to walk closer to the Alpha. The Alpha steps forward closer to the crowd that has gathered at the front of the packhouse.“Someone has declared war.” He shouts. “An attack on a Guest is an attack on us.”Aeron scoffed and the Alpha snapped his att
Soft kisses along my jaw wake me gently from my sleep as I blink up and stare into Jax’s gold eyes. “It's almost time to go.” He says softly, as he plops down next to me and pulls me into his warm chest. I snuggled into him while trying to battle the urge to go back to sleep. His calming strokes through my hair making it harder for me to win. A cough of someone clearing their throat has me straining my neck to look at Meghan in a chair. “She needs to get ready, Jax.” She gives him a pointed look before turning back to me. “Wear something that will keep you warm but light enough to move fast and quietly. '' Meghan sighed as she got up and moved to set a box on the bed. Jax and I still haven't moved from each other’s arms. She looks at the box warily. “Sabine found me and said to give you this, she said it wi
Howling pierced the air making the hair on my arms and neck stand up, I ran as fast as my legs could carry me through the woods.I had no idea where I was headed, I just continued to run blindy. Jax said to head towards the river, but gave me no clues how to find it.Listen, smell. Let your instincts guide you.I stopped at Aurora’s voice in my head and a small whine came out of me. She had been quiet since I rejected the idea of ever accepting her mate and I could feel the longing of him.But she must sense the danger we're in to be so vocal tonight.Taking a deep inhale through my nose, I closed my eyes and tried to pinpoint the smell of fresh water. It reminded me of summers spent at the lake with my dad. I turned my head towards what I thought was the sound of rocks
My shoulders and back ached as I woke up. Groaning, I tried to turn over and I realized I was still on the rocky shore of the river. The sun was high in the sky as it heated my skin and dried my lips to the point I could feel them bleeding through the cracks.I squinted, trying to adjust to the brightness of the day. I stretched my shoulders as I stood and glanced around me.I couldn’t stop the immediate bile that came up and spewed out of my mouth. I grabbed onto my knees as I tried to calm my breathing.Blood. There was blood everywhere. Clumps of red mass gathered here and there that I could assume were body parts. I swallowed down the gathering saliva in my mouth as I dry heaved again.I thought back to last night and know they had
My own heart seemed to stop as well, pain burning through me, killing me.I didn’t hear the scream that tore out of my mouth, but I could see the way they all flinched from the noise. I lunged at Damien’s body, turning him over it. His dull eyes looked up, no emotion in them. His mouth slant.I felt it. I felt the magic rip out of me as the werewolves around me got flung back, landing yards away from me.I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry. My tears dropped onto his face as I stroked it.Please. Please. Someone help me. Anyone. Please.
Where are my vampire diaries fans?! I so badly wanted to end it with “hello, brother.” If you know, you know. This is the end of book one. I know, I’m sorry for the small blimp of turmoil at the end but did you really think I would kill Damien? He's my fav (shh dont tell Jax). JK, I love them both for her differently. There’s so much more to Hayley’s journey. I took a few weeks (probably a writer’s block if I want to be REAL honest) and asked if I wanted to split it. Sorry for the long delay, I went back and forth a lot. Especially where or what or how I want to deal with The Vampire King since he's so important to who Hayley is and what she can become. There's so many scenarios I want to play with. >:)
PART TWO: The Vampire King I made a blood oath. A life of a life. I didn't care at the time because I needed him back, but it came at a high price. How am I suppose to lead a pack when I have no wolf? I have no choice but to move on because we are out of time and out of options. The Vampire King must fall. We're back for the continuation of Hayley's story! I was going to separate it, but decided to just keep going on here since part one was so small. I do have a few changes to part two, such as Hayley won't be the only POV (:
JaxI spit the blood in his face and laugh. “No matter how many times you command me, the answer is the same. I. Don’t. Know.” The Alpha growls, his eyes glowing red. “She’s my mate. I have to find her.” I shake my head, shifting my shoulders. They were sore from being chained to the wall by my wrists. “She’s not.” “We need to let him shift so he can heal.” I glare at Elliot behind the Alpha. His face was impassive as always. He was the only one left who didn’t desert the Alpha, even Niko left and that was surprising. A felt an ache in my chest that they had left me and Meghan behind to suffer the consequences of their actions.I know the Alpha didn’t have my sister locked in the dungeon like me, but I’m sure she was stripped of the luxury of the pack house and her job at the daycare. The Alpha growls again. “He can suffer. They figured out how to resist my commands before. He’s doing it now.” My brother thins his lips, but nods.
