Anxiety flooded through me as Lowell moved closer, his intent clear. My heart raced in my chest and I felt like I couldn't breathe. His lips were mere inches away from mine, and I realized that he was going to kiss me. This moment seemed to stretch on forever, the anticipation of his actions sending shivers down my spine.
