Nineteen

“Okay S, I want you to close your eyes” my mother directed.

I did as she told me and stood in the centre of the clearing with my eyes closed.

“Clear your mind” she told me.

I allowed my mind to go blank for a few moments, observing nothing but darkness in front of me. Only, it wasn’t long before my worries soon fought their way back into my conscience.

The realisation of why I was stood in the beautiful setting now had my attention. I was trying to learn how to control my abilities, but just under two weeks ago I didn’t even know I possessed such abilities and now, what? I was supposed to learn how to harness them without truly understanding what they were? You can’t learn to do something you don’t know is possible?

Hell, two weeks ago my mother was human! Well, she wasn’t.. but she was! To me, at least.

I just can’t fathom how much has changed.
