Chapter 2. Meeting “Her”

"Good morning Alpha!

Jack is quickly greeted by his house cook when he arrives at the dining table to join his pack of six wolves including Matias for the usual breakfast. The cook is standing beside the long dining table, she never eats until all seven of them finished. That's a habit that Jack doesn't mind at all, as long as she make the meals good.

"Good morning". He murmured before accepting the chair that is being pulled out for him by his Beta.

The men carry on with their breakfast after briefly greeting him. And he just replied by a slow nod of his head as recognition. At the corner of his eyes he can see their every move. The wolves seemed to act a little bit comfortable in his presence now, after weeks of living together.

"Alpha, are you going to the Diner today?

The biggest diner in San Augustine was bought by Alpha Prince Jack in order to blend in with the locals. It's been two months of living in the quiet town and still he's in no luck of finding her. His human mate.

Gemer an eighteen year old wolf sitting on his right side across Beta Matias had asked that question.Jack took the ham and eggs with a toasted bread on his plate before giving the young wolf his answer.

"No, i am going to the nearby city for a stroll".

"Hmmm ok,well Alpha i was just wondering..if you have uhm."

Gemer hesitated.

And after a few seconds Beta Matias cleared his throat and completed the question.

"What he means Alpha is if you have meet the new cashier in our Diner? She's the new girl i told you about the other day. Her name is Carmela".

"Eighteen year old,about five foot three,dark hair and green eyes. Gemer took a liking to this girl so he wants to know if you have met  her to confirm if she isn't your mate".

Gemer almost choke in his cup while listening to Beta Matias. It was quiet clear to all of them that their priority in this town is to find their Alpha's mate that's why he just wanted to make sure.

Alpha Jack arched one brow and turned his head towards Gemer. The poor young man looked down on the table as if guilty of something.He couldn't have a mate as young as eighteen could he? Jack doubted the thought.But Maleficus didn't mention the age of his human mate and for a human's eyes his age is around twenty eight years old,that's a decade older if his mate is eighteen.

"I will visit the Diner later in the evening. Gemer,don't do anything stupid if the girl is not your mate then leave her alone I don't want any issues in the diner. Specially with humans,they are being protected by the hunters.You guys know the drill".

The hunters are a group of humans armed with guns and silver bullets who hunts down wolves that does not respect the law of the land.Meaning wolves who doesn't join in a pack and drinks human blood.It is forbidden to hurt humans as well as humans are forbid to hurt the wolves. A peace treaty has been made in order for the groups to co exist.

"I'm sorry Alpha".

Gemer looked apologetic.He would never do anything stupid to anger his Alpha as the future king of the Royal Pack. He has so much respect towards him.

Jack took a sip of his freshly brewed black coffee that the old cook  poured in his cup. He didn't say a word until the breakfast is over.

*Carmela's POV

It's my second week at the biggest diner in town called "Jack's Diner". Today was an ordinary day,as usual work is the same.An eight hour shift had compensated for the money i am getting paid off.I don't know what the people love about this place that have them keep coming back. The menu is similar with other restaurants but only this place is busy all the time.

I glanced at the big wall clock facing me from the right side of the counter. It strikes at ten o'clock in the evening. I let out a heavy sigh,thanks God!two hours more and it will be over. The Diner closed at 12.

"Hey pretty girl! How are you doing tonight?

Gemer,the tall and well built young man with blond hair who works as one of the waiter's at the diner caught my attention. He is smiling at me,flashing his perfectly set of white teeth as he bends down a little to put his right elbow on the counter.

"Hi Gemer! I'm good,how about you?

I answered casually,i know this one had his eyes on me since the day i started working at this diner. But I don't seem to like him in the same way. He is a good looking young man and about my age but my priorities does not include looking out for a boyfriend right now. I'm saving for college and that is my focus for working in this summer break.

"Oh,i feel great now that i see you. By the way,can i drive you home tonight?

Just as he said those words,the two other waiters Michael and Ronil glanced at him with a hint of something like anger in their brown eyes. I wonder what that is? The two boys are brothers and from what i know the three of them are friends. Are they fighting with Gemer now?

Gemer coughed and looked at me with a smile that is waiting for a yes.

"I ahm...ok Gemer if you insist. But only for tonight because the next time my older sister will be picking me up."

That is a lie because my older sister Hannah will never pick me up. She is busy working at a club and usually comes home around two or three am in the morning. Our Dad is also busy doing the hunters work. When i was young my mother was killed by the beast and since then my father started obsessing on killing those vile creatures. He sometimes forget that he has two daughters who needed his attention too.

Gemer's brown eyes sparkled in delight and as he walked away to take the guests order he keeps glancing towards me in the counter.

Those customers, most of them are women giggling and chucking like bunch of kids who have given some sweet treats. They only came in this diner to looked at our waiters,but I don't blame them. Our six waiters are all well built and sexy looking dude's,they must have worked out everyday to be a woman's eye candy.The restaurant manager,Mister Matias is the only man I've seen who dressed up formally in long sleeve button down shirt and slacks while most of the guys here are showing off their muscles in tight t shirts and skinny ripped jeans.

Some of the girls who comes are expecting to meet the Diner's owner too.I've heard his name is Jack,this diner is named after him. They say he's a filthy rich young man and a jaw dropping gorgeous playboy who loves to travel the world and have fun. This diner is just one of his few minor businesses. Well,I've never seen him around and It's not like i care.

Even the manager Mr. Matias was only seen twice by me and that is the day when i get hired and the other day when i was trained.

There are four ladies working in this diner,apart from me but i am only closed to one girl and her name is Jane. She is my friend and co worker but she is off today,so I'm gonna be in charge of closing the diner with the supervisor Michael and Gemer. Some of the waiters would already go home half an hour before closing.

"Let's go Carmela."

I was at the locker closing my door when Gemer popped out of nowhere. He wasn't there when Michael and i are counting the sales so I thought he had already left.

"Oh,I thought you already go home".

"Of course not,i told you I'm taking you home tonight. Come on my harley is waiting outside".

We walked together outside when suddenly Gemer halt and i heard a heavy footsteps coming towards us. The air suddenly felt warm and the hairs on my neck are beginning to stand.

"What's wrong Gemer?

I asked him confused because he was just standing there motionless and looking straight up ahead. I followed his vision and saw a manly figure coming out of the shadows.

He looks tall and big with broad shoulders, his hair in a clean cut with a light brown color. Dressed up in a tight gray shirt under a black leather jacket. My eyes rolled down in his dark jeans that hugged his lean and muscular thighs. I swallowed a lump in my throat as my eyes travelled back to his face. Oh my God this man looks so gorgeous! I can hear my own heartbeat starting to pump faster with blood.

He is getting nearer and I realized that his eyes are golden brown and is looking intently on me.But I can't seem to comprehend why his expression looks angry and intense. His lips in a grim line.

"Mate".

He growls and say the word, I nervously diverted my gaze towards Gemer as he mumbles something I didn't hear quiet clear.

"Oh no,Alpha. Carmela is your mate?

"What Gemer? Did you say something? I nervously asked him but suddenly strong fingers grip on my arm.

"Mine! My mate". He growls again this time near me.

"Excuse me mister don't touch me! Do I know you? I tried shaking his hands off but he didn't budge. Instead his grip becomes stronger I'm sure it would leave a mark in my arm soon. Gemer finally spoke clearer.

"Congratulations Alpha Jack you have found your mate atlast".

He smiled creepily which made my mind get dizzy with confused emotions. And before I could say anything he grab me towards his muscled chest and wrap his hands behind my neck. I was forced to looked up and stare back at his blazing eyes. I can hear his ragged breathing and it is fanning my face, a groan escaped his mouth as he run his eyes on my face and in my lips.

"You are to come with me my Mate,you're mine and no one else can touch you but me. From this day on do not leave out of my sight, for until the day i declare you bear my mark soon enough you will become my wife".

My eyes almost fell out of my socket from what I've heard.What is he talking about? Is he a psycho friend of Gemer?What should i do, panic and fatigue consumed me. I opened my mouth to protest but no words came out and then my knees give up. I fell into the dark abyss, unaware of the stranger catching me in his arms.
