Chapter 3. The Alpha

*Jack's POV

I think i have lingered too much in the city,glancing at my watch it's almost eleven. I have just an hour drive going back to San Augustine,so when i reached the boarder i decided to passed by the Diner. The road is dark and empty but I don't mind,my wolf eyes can see clearly in the night and my bentley is running smoothly.

I park a few meters away from the Diner and as I opened my door to get out,a gushed of wind hit me. I caught the smell of Peony and Blush with a hint of something orangey,i wonder what this is. The smell stayed through my senses,a scent that aroused hunger in my stomach and slowly awakening my wolf's blood.My pupils suddenly dilated and my eyes glowed in the dark.I can smell the scent getting nearer so I quickly slammed the door of my car and walked fast.

I am feeling the blood pulsing in my veins and my heart beating faster by the minute.This kind of feeling that i have never felt before is unknown to me, as if I am both hungry and thirsty at the same time. But there's nothing that could ever satisfy me, other than the smell of this being that i have yet to see. I followed my instinct and continued walking but stopped when i saw her standing a few feet away.

The bearer of the scent.

A woman with raven's hair. As i saw her my world stopped,like someone throw a punch in my stomach i feel her presence strongly affecting my sanity.

Reality dawn at me that in this very moment I finally found her.

She is my mate!

I saw her hesitated and notice the looked in her eyes as she glanced to someone who is standing nearby. It is Gemer who stands beside her. He glanced at her too, then turned to looked at me. I could feel my anger slowly trying to surface and before I could say my rage he whispered in the air.

"Oh no, Alpha. Carmela is your mate?

I answered with a snarl and he looked down, softly apologizing with a low whimper.

"She's mine! My mate! 

My voice held dominance and my Alpha tone made him whimpered some more. I know i made him scared.He bow down to me before he said his next words.

"Congratulations Alpha Jack,you're mate is found atlast."

With that i took two long strides and grabs my mate in the arm. Oh she felt so soft!I could almost feel her bones through my hand. Her scent consumed me and i felt myself being under her spell,what super power does she has i have to know!Because what I know is that she's human but why I cannot control myself towards her?Did Maleficus know that my mate is a powerful human being?

My body moves on its own like she is a magnet to me, i inhaled her scent sharply unmindful of her fear. She looked so beautiful like an angel in my dreams,the queen of my heart I found her atlas. The warmth of her skin against the cold breeze of autumn wind gives comfort in my trembling hands. Her scent evoke a feeling of both longing and lust deep inside me. I see her eyes are wonderfully green surrounded with dark lashes that curl prettily with the color as dark as her hair.

And the red lips around her mouth made my very own tongue drool. I'm sure there as sweet as cherry because they are as red. I cannot wait to taste them. With that thought my canines elongated inside my mouth and a loud growl escaped my throat. Then i convey my feelings towards her by saying the words.

"You are to come with me my Mate,you're mine and no one else can touch you but me. From this day on do not leave out of my sight, for until the day i declare you bear my mark soon you will become my wife".

My mate didn't answered me back,instead her eyes grew big as if in shocked and right in my arms she collapsed.

"Oh! I'm so sorry Alpha,I think she's just tired".

Gemer came to my aid but I moved away holding my mate tightly in my arms. No one has to come near her but me,I could feel my heart would never accept the thought of another man's hand against my beloved mate's skin.

"Gemer! Open my Bentley and drive us back to the mansion".

I instructed him quickly as he just stood standing still with his mouth slightly open. But as soon as he heard me,he hurried and open the passenger's door of my car.

I walked fast but careful with my mate in my arms. As we get inside the car i lay her down the seat and gently lean her body against mine,sitting side by side but with my arms wrapping around her. I felt both happy and scared,even thought those feelings don't mix. Happy that I found her and scared that I could hurt her.

Few minutes of silence with just the sound of my car's engine i lay at the back. I held her closed towards me and fill my lungs with her scent. Her power must be to evoke admiration,awe desire ,happiness and love at me. Because right now that's what i felt. I now know that she is made for me,for my heart body and soul only.

When the car stopped i opened the door and carry my mate in my arms. Matias quickly meet us inside the house.

"Good evening Alpha, can i offer you my help?

Seeing me with my hands full,he offered help but I didn't even feel like greeting him back.

"No Matias,I'll take her to my room. But do something for me,summon Maleficus and tell him it is urgent".

Matias smiled,I don't have to explain the rest to him. I could tell he already know. Who wouldn't when I've never held any woman in my arms before specially when infront of an audience. Yes I've bedded she wolves before,against my mother's consent but that was in discreet and the memories of them will be erased in my head. Now that I've found my mate.

I hurried through the stairs and kick my bedroom door open. I laid her down my bed slowly,she looks good in it. I sit beside her and my eyes traveled through her face. Then I can't help but imagine the things we could do together inside this room.She stirred and moan as if hearing my thoughts.Damn,why didn't I visit the diner earlier?

I remember she was the one that Matias told me a week ago. The new girl in the Diner but i was too busy to notice. I put my attention elsewhere when she was just very near! 

My thoughts was disturbed with a slow knock on my bedroom door,it was open but Matias did that to get my attention. I turned to look at him and saw the old wizard behind.

"Come forward Maleficus".

I am slightly glad that he came immediately,he's a witch and have the ability to be in far places with just a wave of his hand.

"Good evening Alpha prince Jack, i can see you found her".

He move forward in quick steps while Matias lean in the door with his arms crossed. Maleficus stood in front of my bed,his eyes travelled towards the woman who is lying there peacefully sleeping. I stand as I couldn't bear to wake her with the things Maleficus and i are going to discuss.

"Let's go in my study". I turned to looked at my Beta Matias and he knows he needed to stay. 

"After you Alpha".

We went into the next room, where i used as my study. I have bookshelves on the walls and a computer on the table. This room is not as big as my library back in the Royal Palace but i tried to made it looked a little similar.

Maleficus sat in the couch while i open a bottle of whiskey. I know he doesn't drink so I didn't bother to offer him. Being a werewolf gives me a high tolerance to alcohol but it's better than nothing. I needed to drink so i gulped down a glass of the liquor before turning my attention on the wizard.

"Tell me Maleficus can you sense what special power does my mate has?

He looked at me in confusion like he didn't understand what i had just said.

"I'm sorry Alpha,but you're mate is a human. She is just normal."

"No, Maleficus! She overpowers me,i can feel myself cower in her presence. Her scent is something that could drive me insane,my blood would boil with just a touch of her hand. No she wolves had ever made me feel this way. You told me if I found my mate she will succumb to me and follow me all along but what i saw is fear in her eyes!

"Oh! My apologies my prince,we haven't talked much about you're mate before. As you didn't show much interest from the beginning.What you are experiencing is the normal feeling of a wolf being drawn to the scent of their mate. You're father had it with your mother,so there is nothing you should be worrying about my Prince".

 But Now i must tell you,until you mark her she wouldn't feel the mates pull because she is human."

With that I slammed the empty glass of whiskey in the table,breaking it into pieces. Maleficus glanced at me with a slightly worried look in his face. So my mate have no feelings for me yet.
