Chapter 4

Upon arriving at Zayyana's office, Edward was greeted by the woman with a gentle gaze. Zayyana invited Edward to sit down before starting the conversation.

"Edward, I know you are going through a difficult time. But I want you to know that we, your coworkers, will always be there to provide the support and help you need," Zayyana said in a caring tone.

Edward was silent for a moment, realizing that Zayyana knew nothing about him. And she would keep it a secret.

"Are you sure about this decision, Edward? I'll give you a chance to keep working for my company," Zayyana said as she handed him a drink in a can she had just taken from the refrigerator.

Edward politely accepted Zayyana's drink. He paused momentarily before replying, "Thank you, Miss Zayyana. I have carefully considered this decision. I believe this is the right move for me now."

As Edward was speaking, Zayyana's cell phone rang. "Just a moment, I'll take a call." Zayyana got up to walk slightly away from Edward.

Edward felt an unexpected admiration for Zayyana and her friendly and professional demeanor in the silence.

After Zayyana finished speaking on the phone, she returned to sit before Edward.

Edward, who had initially wanted to say goodbye to Zayyan, decided against it when he saw Zayyan's gloomy face.

"What's wrong? Is there a problem?" asked Edward in a concerned tone.

Zayyana let out a long sigh, signaling the seriousness of her problem. "Yeah, more or less," she replied sadly.

"Tell me about it; maybe I can help," Edward said.

Zayyana smiled a little, appreciating Edward's offer of help. "Thank you, Edward. This matter is rather complicated, and I will remember your good intentions."

Seeing Zayyana's smile, Edward was unconsciously mesmerized by her beauty. However, the sadness radiating in her eyes made Edward feel anxious.

"I know I am no longer your employee, best friend, or anything else, but I will feel guilty and regretful in the future for not helping you when I could have," Edward said sincerely.

Edward's words touched Zayyana deeply. She nodded in appreciation of Edward's concern and desire to help her. After a few moments of silence, Zayyana finally decided to tell her story.

"I don't know what bad luck has befallen me; I just lost the company's best staff, you. And now that the company is about to go bankrupt due to losing the biggest investor in the company, I don't know what to do now. What about the employees who depend on this company?" Zayyana complained with concern.

Edward was silent, digesting every word Zayyana said. He had no idea that his boss was also facing severe problems. It might be a good time for him to help her.

"This is a difficult situation. It would be helpful if you found a new investor soon, and that's not easy. How about I help you find an investor?" Edward offered sincerely.

Zayyana looked doubtful, "Thank you, Edward. But I don't think it's necessary, I'll look for it myself. After all, you are planning to resign from the company; I don't want to trouble you."

However, Edward insisted, "Of course not; I'm willing to help you." He then took his cell phone from his pants pocket and dialed someone.

Zayyana looked at Edward in surprise, not understanding what her former employee was doing. However, she decided to give Edward a chance.

After talking on the phone for a moment, Edward hung up and looked at Zayyana confidently. "Miss Zayyana, I have contacted someone ready to help your company."

Zayyana was surprised to hear Edward's explanation, "Really?" Zayyana asked in a disbelieving tone.

"Of course, he will contact you soon."

Just as Edward finished speaking, an unknown number called Zayyana.

"It must be him, just go talk to him."

With her heart pounding, Zayyana immediately picked up the phone and listened carefully to what the man on the other end was saying. Her facial expression changed from skepticism to surprise, relief, and joy.

After hanging up, Zayyana looked at Edward with admiration and wonder. "How can you do this?"

Edward smiled meaningfully, "Me? What have I done?" He asked, pretending not to understand Zayyana's question.

Zayyana shook her head in disbelief, "The CEO of a large company contacted me, intending to become an investor. They are interested in discussing further cooperation with our company." Happiness was evident on Zayyana's face as she explained what had happened.

"Well, congratulations, Miss Zayyana." Edward stood up and reached out to congratulate Zayyan; Zayyana accepted his hand with a big smile. They shook hands, a moment that felt special for both of them.

"Yes, and it's thanks to you. You have truly saved the company, and indirectly, you have saved many people who depend on this company." The relief on Zayyana's face was enough to make Edward happy. He could see how much weight had been lifted from Zayyana's shoulders. "Edward, I don't know how I can thank you. It's still unbelievable, such a miracle from God through you."

Edward looked at Zayyana gently, "Helping others is our responsibility. I hope I can do my part."

"Alright, then I'll take my leave," Edward said as he was about to leave; Zayyana stopped him.

"Wait!"

Edward stopped his steps and turned to Zayyana. Their gazes met, making Zayyana's world seem to stop for a moment.
