Chapter 8
“They will definitely like you, in fact, love you.” he stated, looking back at her.“What makes you so certain?”“Because you are their Luna!” he replies.“Their,” Sheila whispers, slightly looking away from him. “Who are they?” she anxiously asked. “We are close already,” he stated. “When we get there, you will know.”“Okay,” she nods. Without knowing what the term Luna entails. The term is even strange in her mouth as she tries to pronounce it.They walked more for a while before they arrived. Garrett brings her to a beautiful city. She stares in awe of it. She had never seen a beautiful city as such. She kept looking around feeding her eyes on the things her eyes were beholding. She stops at a particular spot staring at a beautiful flower she had seen. “Oh my God! This is indeed beautiful and I love it!” she grinned. She smells the flowers perceiving that it smells really nice. “Garrett I love this!” she blurted.“Common Sheila, there is more to see. We shouldn’t spend the whole time here watching flowers.” He uttered.“I can spend my whole life watching and sniffing flowers.” She said, laughing in excitement. ‘She made the right choice by agreeing to come with Garrett. Her joy had just begun!’ she thought. She sniffed the flowers again, inhaling the sweet smell with her eyes closed.“Sheila, please don’t waste our time. There are lots of places I still need to show you!” he blurted, slightly dragging her to follow him.“But I want to see more of the flowers!” she murmured.“You can always do that some other time!” he replied, still dragging her along. She kept a sad face, following him to wherever he was taking her to.He points out different places of interest to her. The next place he pointed to her was the garden. She removed her hands from his running towards the garden. Garrett stood helpless staring at her. he calls her name severally but she doesn’t respond. She rolls herself on the flat grass which is also known as the carpet grass. The atmosphere was quite accommodating. She enjoys the smells oozing from each plant. She is overjoyed.‘Garrett had been patient enough’ he thought. He goes to get Sheila but she begins to run. He chases her as she kept rounding the trees and dribbling him. After a while of play and loud laughter, her finally gets her.“Don’t leave my hand again!” he said.“I hope so.” She replied, laughing in excitement. ‘this is the life she had always wished for and not serving milkshakes in the diner’ she thought, flipping her hair backwards as the cool breeze kept blowing it to her face covering her eyes. She stole a glance at Garrett and smiled her heart was filled with unexplainable joy! She hears a sound of rushing water and then she turns to the direction where the sound was echoing from only to see that it was a waterfall. “Water!” she yells. “Yea water, but you aren’t going to it.” He said. Holding her hand tight.“Please Garrett, just let me go see it.” She pleaded. “No way,” he replied, holding her hand tighter. He wouldn’t let her go so she quickly comes up with a plan.“Ouch!!!” she yells, quickly bending downwards. “My leg! Something just pierced in my leg!” she feigned crying. “Sorry, let me see,” he leaves her hand bending down to see the said obtained injury when Sheila suddenly took to her heels. She ran to the waterfall admiring it. She watched the massive down pour of water. She loves the sand by the side of the waterfall and so she buried her legs in it enjoying the coolness of the sand. She packs some and smells. She loves nature, her love for nature is unexplainable. The water poured down vertically and heavily. she heaved a sigh, enjoying the cool breeze she got from there. ‘Oh! Life is sweet” she whispered to herself.“Indeed! Life is sweet when you are with the right person in the right place.” A voice replied her. she knew it was Garrett. “Thank you so much Garrett!” she replied, turning back to see him standing behind her without any clothes. She shyly turned back to the waterfall. “Garrett, please put your clothes on,” she said, slightly smiling.“Why? Don’t you like what you see? Haven’t you seen it before?” he quizzed, gently grabbing her from behind as she closes her eyes. “Garrett, please stop it. I don’t want this.” she blurted. He kisses her neck severally and tells her to open her eyes which she did. She opened her eyes to see Garrett still standing at the exact spot where she had left him. “Fuck!!” she yelled, grabbing her head with her both hands. She had closed her eyes enjoying the cool breeze and had opened them to see Garrett standing at the exact spot where she had left him. He never came to meet her in the waterfall. She had been hallucinating.“Imaginations” she sighed.“Sheila, come over here!” he yells calling her.“I’m not coming,” she yells back. Garrett had no option left other than to go to her. He pleaded with her, telling her that there are many other places she had not seen, and that they didn’t have all the time to waste. She obliged and decided to follow him.He shows her many other places including his house. He then points to the last building, telling her that it’s the pack assembly hall and all the members of the pack are there to meet her. she had been carried away that she totally forgets. Once again, she gets scared and furious.“What will I say to them when I get in?” she asks Garrett as her heart beat raced. She was going to meet them for the first time and had no idea on how to behave or relate with them.“Don’t worry, you won’t have to do or say anything. Everything is going to go well.” He assures. she freaks out but he assures her that everything would be okay. They enter into the assembly hall. Sheila looks around at how beautiful it is, she stares in awe of it. It was quite spacious and beautiful, the white bulbs made everywhere bright. It was a large auditorium having a wide stage as well. The assembly hall is a building where meetings takes place and where information are being announced or passed.Garrett’s mother and father Margret and Alexander comes to meet her.Alexander Everson, the father of Garrett is fifty years old and the present alpha of the moonshine pack. He is 6.1 feet tall with a strong and dominant voice he has brown hair and brown eyes. While Margret Everson is the mother of Garrett and mate to Alexander. She is 50 years old also, short with a height of 5.1 feet with deep blue eyes and brown hair. she looks deceptive.“Greetings to you, sir and ma.” Sheila curtsied, wondering if she has said the right thing.“Greetings to you, young lady.” Mr. Alexandra cheerfully replied, while Margret stares at Sheila strangely.“How are you doing today?”“I’m fine thank you, sir.” She replied in excitement.“Alright, my name is Alexandra Everson,” he said, introducing himself.“Sheila, my name is Sheila,” she grinned. Alexander turned to his mate, expecting her to introduce herself and when she doesn’t he signals her.“Margret Everson,” she said, rolling her eyes.Sheila notices how Margret stares at her. she feigned a smile, pretending not to be affected. After they had introduced themselves, there was a call for a meeting in the assembly hall, of which the congregant assembled themselves in the large hall. They all looked anxious waiting for the information to be passed. They whisper to each other asking if anyone knew why they had summoned them for a meeting. It was in the meeting that Garrett announced to the whole pack that Sheila is his Luna. Then Garrett’s father Alexander announces that the Luna celebration will take place in the next full moon. After that, Garrett can take his rightful place as the alpha of the pack.Alexander announced. The crowd breaks out on cheers and whoops, congratulating each other and the alpha. Sheila feels in such a way she had never felt before. She felt like a queen for the first time in her life as everyone congratulates her. The excitement in everyone’s faces was glaring. She felt loved and welcomed. She couldn’t stop smiling and getting emotional as everyone walked to her congratulating her and giving her a handshake.“Congratulations, our incoming Luna. Congratulations our future Luna,” was the kind of words she was receiving. She feels really special, wishing that the meeting never ends. She looks at everyone’s faces seeing them smiling at her except for one person who kept a serious face for reasons unknown to Sheila. She stares at Sheila and Sheila stares back at her. her eyes are scary. She gives Sheila a mean look and Sheila wonders why the woman despises her so much. She doesn’t want to ruin her day, so she ignores Margret and focused on the people that kept coming to congratulate her. Sheila had never received a single congratulation all her life. This is her first time and she feels excited about it. It has the happiest day of her life, and she wished more of it would come. The meeting was over, Sheila and Garrett heads out of the hall and they go to his mansion where he lives. Sheila couldn’t help but gaze at the well-furnished building. It was a kind of building she had never seen in her entire life. She looks around, touching and admiring the furniture of the building including the portraits, golden statues and many other things. Garrett shows her around the mansion which is divided into sections. One section is for Garrett, a section is for his parents, and another section is for another family entirely which is the beta family. He takes her to another room and she gasps because of how beautiful it is. “Waw!” she exclaims. “This room is so beautiful,” she said.“Whose room is this?” she gasps. “It’s your room. My Luna.” He replies, smiling at her.“Oh my God this is so beautiful,” the excitement on her face was quite glaring as she jumped on the bed in excitement. The room was spacious and the furniture was second to none. She kept rolling on the bed from one edge to the other. She never believed she would ever live a luxurious life. The room was so beautiful and not different from the others. The bedsheet and duvet are all white. The building is painted in white color and there is an art drawing of a water fall placed on the wall. She gently removed it from the wall softly touching it. She loved it. After staring at it for a while, she gently placed it back on the wall. She was about sitting on the bed when she glanced at another portrait it was a drawing of a rose flower placed on the wall as well. She takes it and sniffs it but couldn’t perceive the smell. The portrait looks so beautiful. She kissed it and placed it back on the wall. She turned to Garrett who had been staring and smiling at her. “Thank you so much Garrett. I love this.” she says as tears rolls down her cheek. She is emotional.“You’ve not seen it all. there is one more you are yet to see.” He slightly grinned. “What is it?” she anxiously asked, turning around. “There,” he replies, pointing to a certain direction. Sheila turned to the direction he was pointing at and was wowed at what her eyes was beholding. It was a portrait of herself staring at a water fall.It was a cold wintry morning as Sheila went from one table to another serving milkshakes. She was a young beautiful lady of nineteen with her rich long hair reaching down to her waist. She had dreamy green eyes that seemed to sparkle. She had a jovial smile and confidence unlike any other. She however didn't seem herself as she went about her job that morning. Her mind was troubled and it was evident in her stride and her gaze. She had her head down and her hair in her face which was unlike her. Her feet were wobbly too and she had tripped and spilled a milkshake on a male customer. The man, in his tuxedo, was probably a member of the high class. He had arrogantly yelled at Sheila telling her to ‘get out of his sight’. She had dragged herself back to the counter where Camelia who had been watching the happenings and who knew why Sheila looked so down stood waiting. “I think you should go up to your room”, Camelia began as Sheila set down her serving tray on the counter.
The trees were huge and most of them formed canopies that blocked out the sun during the day and the moon at night. There was undergrowth too, flowers of all kinds. The scenery was so captivating, one could literarily spend a lifetime doing nothing but admiring it. There were many Fir and Cedar trees all around. Black cherry, Beech, Elm, and sycamore were all around too. The flowers were countless as they were beautiful and their beauty would rival Snow White in all her elegance. To say this forest was cut out of utopia would be an understatement. The colors all fell in line as though rhythmically. Sheila had gone on taking a picture every here and there. She was so engrossed and her excitement knew no bounds. She had felt alive in the cold that would have numbed anyone else. She would scream at the sight of a flower she hadn't noticed before taking a picture of it, taking care to make it as beautiful as she could. Sheila had gone on and on for a long while before her flas
Suddenly, an uneasy feeling took over her and she had the feeling that someone was around her. She heard some strange sounds, scaring the hell out of her. “Is anyone there?” Sheila shouted, tightening her grip on the tree, and looking around. “Please help!!” No response. Everywhere was quiet and calm once again.“Is anyone there?” She repeated with a shaky voice. No response. When she noticed that no one answered her, chills ran down her spine as she was now afraid. She gathered her strength and ran, throwing her scalf down. She heard someone running after her, yet this didn't stop her from running, she need to come out of the forest alive. Sheila stopped running when she didn't hear anybody following her anymore. “God, please save me,” Sheila mumbled, panting slowly. Just then a bright shining light shone upon her, almost getting her blind. ‘Argggh!” She closed her eyes, using her two hands to cover her eyes, wondering where the light was coming from. She felt that the light

As Sheila came near the waterfall, the noise nearly defending her, she turned just in time to see another creature attack the beast. She kept her speed and ran off. She didn’t have any strength left in her legs and she was hyperventilating. If the new creature happened to win the battle and decided to give her a chase, she might not be able to hold out as she had done to the bear. Despite being extremely fatigued, Sheila pushed herself onward. She couldn’t afford to die, not now that she was ready to have fun. Not now that she has decided to move on. Not now that she was

He says, “It’s because you are my Luna.”“Luna? Sheila whispered, confused, looking directly at the tiled floor as if the floor was going to explain something to her.Garrett saw how confused Sheila was. Looking into his eyes this time around.“Garrett, do you mean to say that I talk too much?” she asked, giving a mean look.“Okay, that’s fine. No more talking!” she vexed, folding her arms and maintaining a straight face. ‘She wouldn’t talk to him again’ she thought“Okay, I’m sorry Sheila. Believe me, I didn’t mean to upset you. Chapter 7Garrett sighed, itching his head and placing his left hand on his waist it was quite glaring that Sheila was still mad at him, he watched as she excitedly kissed the flowers, sniffing them severally, and holding them so dear to herself without even thanking him. She Practically and intentionally ignored him.He wanted to make it up to her but he didn’t know how to do that. He needed her to be happy at least to win her trust. They continued walking in silence before Garrett finally broke the silence.“Sheila, I know you are mad at me but I’ve said I’m sorry.”“Garrett, I just need my things back. That’s the only thing that can make me happy at this point. Let’s go get my things back. Please, Garrett, I’m begging you.” she pleaded.“Listen to me Sheila, it’s very risky for us to go back because you won’t be safe out there. Whatever I do, I do for your own good. Remember, I promised you a good life, I promised to protect you, I promised to keep you away from harm and that’s exa
