Alexa almost dropped the birthday cake she was holding for her boyfriend, Maxus, when she heard the merging moans of two bodies inside his office. Oh, God. Anxiety surged through Alexa's chest. Were her suspicions about her beloved boyfriend finally about to be confirmed? She froze, afraid to peek through the small gap in the door that had been left slightly ajar and unlocked. There was no one else in the office. It was already seven in the evening. She had come to surprise him. She had pretended she couldn't make it and feigned that she had forgotten his birthday. Forget their special days? Not her. Never. Even though a storm was raging outside, with heavy rain and strong winds caused by a low-pressure area, she had pushed herself to drive home from Tagaytay. She had just attended a seminar there—her last one, as classes were about to go on break. Alexa was still a student, studying medicine. She was only in the preparatory stage at 22 years old, but she worked hard because she truly wanted to become a doctor. She wanted to be Maxus's equal. She wanted to earn a title so she wouldn't embarrass him in front of his parents, who were part of high society. Her family was well-off too, but she didn’t have access to any of their wealth. Everything was in a joint account. Alexa had driven for over an hour just to make up for Maxus, but now it seemed she was the one getting the surprise of her life because of what she overheard. Maxus was a lawyer, and they had been together for three years. He was older than her—about the same age as the famous Jewish figure, Aslan—both were 34 years old. Alexa had been there for Maxus even before he took the bar exam, supporting him in every way possible. She was his one and only inspiration. But after his wealthy parents set up his own law firm for him, it seemed everything had changed. His sweetness had disappeared. He no longer talked to her the way he used to. Alexa could feel that something had changed. Her intuition had warned her before that Maxus might be cheating, but she refused to believe it. She convinced herself that he was still loyal to her. Maybe she was a fool, but she loved him deeply. “Oh, fuck! That was mind-blowing,” a moaning voice echoed from inside the office. Oh, God. She covered her mouth in shock, tears welling in her eyes. Now, she was certain—Maxus wasn’t alone in his office. He was with another woman. Wait. That voice sounded familiar. It was Iris’s voice, one of the lawyers at his firm. Alexa summoned every ounce of courage and pushed the door open. She was trembling with pain and fury, but she was determined to confront her cheating boyfriend. “You shameless people!” she screamed, her voice breaking as tears spilled down her face. The sight before her was devastating. Iris was straddling Maxus, her skirt bunched up around her waist and her upper body completely bare. One of her breasts was in Maxus’s mouth, while his hands were greedily clutching both. The weight of the betrayal crushed Alexa’s heart. Maxus froze in shock, and Iris scrambled off him in a hurry. Neither of them bothered to cover up, leaving their naked, sweat-drenched bodies exposed despite the cold air conditioning. “B-Babe,” Maxus stammered, standing up quickly, but Alexa’s anger consumed her. Sobbing uncontrollably, she rushed at him and smashed the birthday cake in her hands against his face. “You monster! You devil!” she screamed, hitting him with her fists. Unsatisfied, she turned her rage toward Iris, who was hurriedly picking up her clothes. Alexa’s eyes caught a creamy white trail running down Iris’s inner thigh. The sight felt like a dagger piercing her chest, but she refused to back down. She stormed toward Iris and grabbed her hair in a tight fist. “Ouch!” Iris cried out, but Alexa yanked her violently, dragging her across the room as Maxus struggled to wipe the icing off his face. “Ouch? Do you think that’s all I feel right now? What I’m feeling is far worse than ‘ouch,’ you slut!” Her rage burned hotter, and she slapped Iris repeatedly. “Alexa! Stop it!” Maxus shouted, but she didn’t care. Iris fought back, but Alexa was too furious to let her win. The two women clawed at each other, rolling across the floor as their fight escalated. Alexa scratched Iris, who fought back just as viciously. She was at a disadvantage, though—her nails were too short compared to Iris’s. She felt a sharp sting on her face, as if a cat had raked its claws across her skin, but she refused to back down. Their fight continued, Iris still naked, until someone grabbed Alexa’s arms and forcefully pulled her away. “Stop it! I said!” Maxus shouted angrily, but Alexa redirected her fury toward him, slapping him hard across the face. She could hear him muttering curses under his breath as he grabbed her and shook her to stop. But she didn’t relent. She continued to lash out until a strong slap landed across her face. “I said, stop!” The force of the slap made Alexa stagger. She instinctively touched her stinging cheek, feeling utterly dazed. It wasn’t just her head that reeled from the impact—it felt like her entire world had been turned upside down. But more than the physical pain, it was the heartbreak that hurt the most. Maxus had hit her. She froze, her mouth hanging open in shock. Her eyes, blank and unfocused, stared at Maxus, who seemed equally stunned by what he’d done. He looked at his hand, disbelief written all over his face. “B-Baby…” he stammered, taking a hesitant step toward her, but she didn’t give him a chance. Alexa turned and ran out of the office, her sobs echoing in the empty hallway. The pain was unbearable. She kept asking herself: What did I do wrong? Why did he hurt me like that? She had been the one betrayed, yet it felt as though she was the one at fault. She had been slapped, and by the man who had been making love to someone else just moments earlier. Wasn’t she enough? Was there something she lacked? What else could she give? She was beautiful and sexy. What more could he possibly want? Was it mind-blowing sex?Chapter 1From the position between the legs of Aslan's partner, his face lifted as he heard countless loud knocks on his door."Shit!" Donna muttered irritably because she was left hanging, unable to reach her climax. She was almost there. Women usually finish quickly, whether through oral, manual, or intercourse. During their one session, she had orgasmed multiple times, but today it seemed like she couldn’t even get one.Donna Miranda had been his constant bed partner since college. She was four years younger than him. She was from the neighboring town, the daughter of a couple of entrepreneurs. Her family was the wealthiest in that town, aside from the Escobar estate, which he managed.Yes, he is a caretaker. To put it simply, he’s a farmer, but he doesn't just tend to fifty hectares of land. He manages 6,823 hectares, spread across eleven villages. Their biggest crops were vegetables and sugarcane, which provided for the people under his care. The average net income from his vege
Chapter 2"What does she need?" Aslan asked coldly, his mind briefly drifting to the past, to the reason Alexa’s hatred for him had intensified—because of inheritance."Tuition? I just transferred money to her bank account last week," Mang Kiko replied. The butler shook his head. "She wants to be picked up."His eyebrows furrowed. Is the world about to end or is Mang Kiko playing a prank on him? Alexa, going home? Oh, come on.“I’ll cut off my manhood, Mang Kiko,” he answered flatly."Don't, it's a waste," Mang Kiko responded, making Aslan's brow furrow even more. "She’s stuck in Apalit.""And?"“She wants you to pick her up.”“She should have taken the bus, or any vehicle, and had her nanny bring her here.”“She’s alone.”God, really? He immediately rubbed his face. After seven years, here comes an interruption to his smooth life, all because of a breakdown? It’s been seven years since Alexa left him, and now she remembers him? Why the hell is she even coming back? Didn’t she swear n
Chapter 3The SUV stopped in front of Alexa, and she was filled with joy. Yay! She hurriedly grabbed her things, even though she wasn’t sure she’d be able to get in. She’d offer the driver anything just to get a ride: money, her dead signal smartphone, but not her virginity. But what if that's what the man wanted? She swallowed nervously, and the excitement to catch a ride seemed to fade. What if the driver or anyone else in the car would assault her? She froze, staring at the vehicle’s tires, deep in thought. She didn’t even notice that the window of the AM SUV had rolled down because of her conflicted thinking about whether or not she should get on.The luxury car wasn’t headed to the hacienda. It had only stopped because of her continuous waving. She had almost jumped earlier just to get attention.“You’re just gonna stand there like an idiot, or are you getting in?” the man asked gruffly, causing Alexa to snap her attention toward him immediately. Her jaw dropped when she saw who
Chapter 4Alexa spent the remaining hour of the journey home to the hacienda sleeping. She didn’t want to keep arguing with a malnourished leech. Isn’t that what she should call a woman like the one with Aslan? She was so clingy to the man, as if she was fighting to claim him.Ewww!Who wouldn’t latch onto a man who owned an Aston Martin, a car that was probably worth millions just by the bumper? And this Aston Martin was supposed to be hers, not this dirty, old, clingy rag’s."Alexa!" A loud shout pulled her from her deep sleep, but she suddenly felt dizzy when her forehead bumped against something hard. She held her forehead, seeing stars."Jesus!" Aslan exclaimed, which made her blink even though she was squinting. He too was holding his forehead, with one eye squinted. They had collided. Half of his body was inside the passenger side, waking her up."Did I tell you to get closer to me? This is such a disaster," she snapped at him, but he didn’t mind."Hurry up! I’m not Superman, I
Chapter 4.1Aslan had been standing with his arms crossed in front of the car for a long time. The back section was already open. Alexa's luggage was on display, but it was outshone by the beautiful woman he had been staring at since earlier. What does he call this hard shaft inside his pants? Boner. Yes. He'd had it since he glanced at those round, firm mounds, tightly pressing against her wet shirt. It was probably wrong to be with that woman. He couldn't resist, though, and stood by his word that it was none of his business.Even though Donna had been relentlessly playing with his manhood earlier, it softened when it was inside the woman's warm mouth. His mind was preoccupied with a woman in the middle of the street, with a storm raging, and no vehicle to take her.How could he calm down like that? He remembered Geron and Caroline.Fuck.He had thought that his duty towards their daughter had ended when Alexa chose to part ways with him. But it wasn't over yet.He remembered the co
Chapter 4.2Alexa couldn’t hear anything inside the house. Not even the clatter of the tin roofs outside reached her ears. The generator was completely silent, thanks to its silencer. As noisy as the roofs were outside, with the pouring rain and howling wind, the quiet inside her room was deafening. Thanks to the power of technology, the mansion’s lighting was now brighter and more efficient compared before. The Escobar estate had indeed undergone significant changes under Aslan's management. That thought occupied her mind as she stood by the window of her room, staring at a brightly lit building in a certain distance.Because the mansion stood on elevated ground, she had a clear view of the entire Hacienda Escobar. This estate had belonged to her father’s family for generations, yet it puzzled her why, according to her late mother’s last will, everything now belonged to Aslan. Her chest tightened. She felt a pang in her heart. Jealousy began to creep into her system once more. Why? W
Chapter 5Aslan turned away, his shoulders slumped. He couldn't look at the people in the horse stable, his eyes filled with tears.Marishka closed her eyes, holding the baby boy in her hands. Why? Why did the ones she bore always die? Her arms were covered in blood. She had no upper garment, and her chest was still heaving from the effort of reviving her horse.Even as the metal sheets outside clattered in the storm, she ventured into it, ignoring the danger on the road. She saw metal sheets flying, wood, and other debris, but her Jeep Wrangler fought against the storm’s power. And now, Marishka would just die in his hands? Why? Maybe she wasn’t meant to be a veterinarian. Perhaps it wasn't in her nature. She froze mid-step when the horse behind her suddenly made noise, and she quickly turned around."He’s alive!" Tibor exclaimed, soaked but undeterred. There were five of them there, and all the workers cried out in joy.She smiled immediately and gently set the young horse down. She
Chapter 6Aslan let out a deep sigh as Alexa recklessly sped up his car down the driveway, exiting the garage. He licked his lips and shut his eyes at the sight of the vehicle driving away.It was his car, but he didn’t have the courage to say no. He had the power to stop her, but he never had the will.Fuck.She was still the same Alexa from years ago. No one could make her back down. He kept trying, but she was always defiant and unyielding.Earlier, he had taken a different route home. His shirt was slung over his shoulder, and though he hadn't had proper sleep, he froze when he saw Alexa hitting Donna with a broom.Jesus.He wanted to stop her and scold her, but he just ended up standing there, unable to approach and tell her to quit hitting Donna. He didn’t like the tension brewing between the two, but there was nothing he could do when both of them were so stubborn. The car finally exited through the gate and archway. It looked so small in his eyes, yet he kept staring."She sti
Chapter 41"Even just this once, Ma, think about yourself," Aslan said with a sigh as he watched his mother cough every now and then. She had gone to the bathroom several times to spit, and even though she wasn’t saying anything, he knew something wasn’t right."What did the doctor say about your illness?" he asked, confused. He didn’t even know if she was receiving any proper treatment. And whether he admitted it or not, it made a difference when a private doctor attended to a patient with a serious condition."I have medicine from the center. Now that we're here in Escobar, I'll register here to get free medicine again.""But you need rest," Aslan insisted to his mother. "Why do you still need to help Balbon and his team? There are already three of them working construction. Don’t tell me they’re making you feel obligated.""I need to help so we can build a house and buy a small plot of land in Aklan."He shook his head, looking away in frustration. Buying land and building a house—
Chapter 40Aslan couldn't find the two friends at the hotel when he arrived. He was on a motorcycle to get there faster. Now, he was clearly impatient, unsure of where to go next. He stood with his arms crossed near the entrance of the hotel, thinking about his next destination. He pursed his lips as he observed the passersby. Maybe they went to the church, but the receptionist had told him that the two had left a while ago, almost an hour ago.He stood there, arms crossed, but his face immediately soured when he saw Donna's motorcycle. She quickly parked in the parking space and angrily got off."You, idiot!" she immediately shouted, making him scratch his head. Here she goes again, trying hard to entertain herself."Donna, come on," he said lazily."Don't 'Donna' me! You're about to marry a lunatic, huh?!" she yelled at him, her voice loud and piercing. His temper flared up again, and he thought he might strangle her if he didn't control himself."Who told you that?" he answered cal
Chapter 39Aslan’s eyebrows furrowed when he saw Lorna at the stairs."Alexa?" he asked the maid, "Is she still asleep?"His head throbbed from the hangover. He really hated drinking. Why did he even think about drinking just because of his mom?"She's awake already, sir.""Tell her we'll have breakfast together," he said, descending the stairs as his head ached."Well, the señorito can leave."He immediately stopped in his tracks, almost snapping his neck from the sudden turn of his head."What do you mean, leave? Give me my key! She can't come back to Manila!" he angrily said."N-No, señorito. You're mistaken. Leave, as in going to town. She took her car."He breathed a sigh of relief, feeling like he almost fell down the stairs. Damn Lorna, she nearly scared him. He swore that no shadow of Alexa would escape him now. He’s a very changed man now. He doesn’t let go anymore. He grips."Next time, watch your words, Lorna," he said irritably."Y-Yes, señorito. My apologies. I meant she
Chapter 38WHAT THE FREAK? Alexa’s eyes widened as she quickly turned her gaze toward Aslan when he suddenly got off of her and staggered. He didn’t even make it to wherever he was heading because he slammed into the wall. "Aslan!" She screamed and immediately sat up. She quickly adjusted her clothes since one of her breasts was exposed. Shameless. Even her panties seemed to have shifted, so she fixed those too. This guy was so annoying. He was able to handle her while Maxus couldn’t. Totally unfair. Even though her cheeks were flushed, she forced herself to approach Aslan. He was leaning against the wall, looking like he might vomit, so she quickly helped him. "Are you okay? You're drunk, but you only had three bottles," she said, not mocking him in that situation. "I'm not a drunk," he replied, almost making her laugh. Maxus, on the other hand, would stay out drinking until morning. When she scolded him for it, he would get mad, saying he was already exhausted from work and she was
Chapter 37Alexa peeked from behind the wall, watching Aslan drink alcohol. She couldn't sleep because his offer kept bothering her, giving her a massive headache. She had asked her friend in Manila, Bea, if she should accept it. They had just finished chatting about everything, and Bea knew her current situation.Bea had asked why she was having such a hard time deciding. It should be easy to say no, she said. Why was Alexa so affected? Why, indeed?Bea also mentioned she wanted to see Aslan. She even suggested Alexa take a picture of him. Now, here she was, peeking from behind the wall but already distracted. Aslan was drinking alcohol, his food paired with roasted lechon."Must be nice if lechon was just your snack," she thought. Her phone vibrated, so she quickly checked the chat."I'm waiting here, Alex. I want to see your brotherhood," Bea said, prompting her to prepare her camera.Alexa made sure the flash was turned off. Pretending to use her phone, she stepped out from behind
Chapter 36Aslan checked the hotel to see if it was already safe for Alexa to meet Janice. He noticed Maxus’s car parked outside, and the man stepping out while pulling his luggage. So the guy didn’t leave yesterday after all. He really stood his ground. Well, at least now the stubborn idiot is finally leaving. He got out of his car as Maxus forcefully tossed his bag into the backseat of his vehicle.Aslan just stared at Maxus as the man irritably placed his hands on his hips and arrogantly kicked the car's wheel.Maxus turned in his direction, and Aslan, hands in his pockets, just continued to look at him."You…" Maxus growled when he recognized him."What?" Aslan raised a brow. "Watch your mouth and watch your step. This is my hotel, and this is my parking lot. I’m no lawyer, but I know my rights."The corner of his lips twitched into a mocking smirk."I'm not a good enemy to have, farmer," Maxus sneered at him."Neither am I," Aslan replied."You're claiming what’s mine. I saw you
Chapter 35Alexa felt like Aslan was angry with her because he silently got out of the car, carrying the papers from Engineer Zuria. What could be in those papers that had him so engrossed? He hadn’t taken his eyes off them since he received them.“Are you mad?” she asked, unable to hold back.He shook his head at her. “Next time, Maxus will be down for the count if he does that again.”Gosh.“I didn’t like that,” she said quickly, trying to defend herself. But why was she even explaining? She didn’t owe him any explanation; they weren’t even a thing. She was just being overly defensive. She just didn’t want him to think that even though she and Maxus had broken up, she was still cozying up to him like that.“I know. I saw it. I’m thinking about something else.”Donna? He walked straight into the house without saying another word.“Oh, you’re back. Have some snacks,” Mang Kiko greeted with a smile as they entered through the door.“Yes, Mang Kiko. I’d like that,” she said, realizing s
Chapter 34Aslan stared at the paper in his hand, his eyes fixed on the names written on it. It was a list of JSSEC personnel. He had just confirmed that his mother was really one of them. He sat inside the car after they had picked up Janice and her child from the neighboring town. He was parked in front of the hotel, patiently waiting for the young woman.Apparently, this was the only hotel with available rooms out of the three hotels owned by the Escobars. He wasn’t sure if he should have Balbon and the others evicted because of what Zuria had told him—that they had nowhere else to go, which included his mother.Aslan's anger and sense of compassion were clashing. He was torn and utterly confused. His head throbbed with the weight of it all. It felt as if he wanted to retaliate against those who had hurt him and made his life miserable. He sighed and slammed the papers on the dashboard. He checked his wristwatch and looked at the hotel entrance. There was still no sign of Alexa. He
Chapter 33Alexa couldn’t understand Aslan’s connection to her at that moment. As she stared at his face, deep sadness and anger were evident in his eyes.Who could he have seen? And why couldn’t she make him talk? By the look on his handsome face, those people must have caused him immense pain. His eyes were almost brimming with tears, leaving her confused."Sir Aslan, everything is ready. The count is complete and accurate," someone reported. He nodded and let go of her hand. She subtly adjusted the chair he had pulled closer for her earlier. It was as if he had become preoccupied with her hand, which he was gently massaging earlier. She was thankful he didn’t break her hand, considering his earlier cold demeanor that had now turned into sadness. He signed something. "Deposit thirty percent into the usual account," he instructed, making her blink in surprise. It was hers, she knew. She felt a pang of embarrassment."The beneficiary, sir?" the woman asked, to which he nodded in respo
