8: Starting A Fire

Margot emptied the snot off her nose after crying into her doctor’s chest. She was happy when someone was willing to listen to all her worries without judging her and why she made such decisions in life. But after crying for almost an hour, she suddenly realized that what she had done before her doctor was embarrassing.

“I’m sorry… And thank you,” Margot whispered as she pinched her arm. She started developing new habits after she found out about her illness and Harry’s infidelity.

Leo noticed them too and couldn’t help but worry about his patient. “Don’t do that, Margot. You’re hurting yourself,” he said, taking out his hanky and wiping the blood off her scratched arm. “And stop biting your fingernails when you’re overthinking. Try doing something else that’s safe. These new habits of yours will only cause you harm,” he added, putting a bandaid on every scratch she had made in her arms.
