16: Under Wraps

Leo tapped his fingers on the table. It had been fifteen minutes since he hung up the call with Margot. The latter said nothing and cried over the phone for five minutes. After that, he made sure to tell her to come to the hospital so they could meet. Although Margot didn’t say she’d come, he assumed she would and had been waiting for her.

“Doc, I don’t think she’s still coming. She probably went home to rest,” Hannah said, enduring the noise caused by the doctor’s tapping.

“Home? She wouldn’t want to be there if the reason she cried again was her husband,” Leo commented, furrowing his eyebrows as he started pacing back and forth.

Hannah was almost done getting ready to leave. She wasn’t working overtime and she wished the doctor would do the same. Otherwise, she’d end up handling tons of work again if he couldn’t manage to finish them in his condition.
