Margot stared at the man in front of her. She couldn’t believe he would accept her invitation. Her lips curled up as she started a conversation.

“I’m honored to finally meet you in person,” Margot said, her voice filled with sincerity.

The man laughed. “I should be saying that. It’s a pleasure to meet you,” he said, raising his glass of wine.

Margot did the same and took a sip of her red wine.

Ever since she started working in the company, she had been secretly working on a project the chairman gave her. It was the condition to prove her abilities in handling the business. For Margot to gain her father’s trust, she had to make the project successful while also working as the product manager of the company. It wasn’t easy, but she was the type to never back down until she gained the result she wanted.

Bruce Gardner, a renowned chef who refused to work with other companies nor opened a restaurant himself, was Margot’s solution to success. She wouldn’t be coming to the other side of the

Margot took a deep breath after waking up the next morning. She finished a bottle of wine and managed to sleep in bed after getting drunk. She couldn’t help celebrating the small win she had.Dragging her body out of the bed, Margot took a shower. She spent a good ten minutes washing off the stench of alcohol from her body. She blew her hair dry, dressed up, and went to check on her husband. She wondered if he was able to manage his work and his secret affair.“Margot? What are you doing here?” Harry yawned after opening the door when Margot didn’t stop knocking. “I told you, don’t disturb me. I came here to work, not to go sightseeing with you,” he added.“Coming from you? Look at yourself. It’s already past 9 in the morning and you just woke up,” Margot sneered, shaking her head in disappointment.Harry’s eyes almost jumped out of their sockets when he checked the time. “Damn it! Why didn’t that woman wake me?” He rushed inside and desperately put on his clothes.Margot followed ins

Harry was pacing back and forth, holding his phone while calling Margot. It had been two days since he came back from a business trip and Margot still hadn’t returned. He never felt so uneasy before without seeing his wife.“I can’t believe she’s not picking up,” he groaned, tossing his phone on the coach. “How dare she maxed my card. I was saving it for the future! She shouldn’t be using my money,” Harry said, grabbing his hair in frustration. He was wondering why there was a problem with his card so he called the bank as soon as he returned. To Harry’s surprise, he was told that he had zero balance in his account. He didn’t know how it happened but aside from him, only Margot had access to his account.Harry didn’t expect Margot to go against him or do something without telling him first. He was confident she wouldn’t do anything that he wouldn’t like. Little did he know, she already spent all the money he painstakingly saved for years.“Is this some kind of revenge? Did she find ou

Margot was taken aback at her husband’s nonsense. She knew something was going on the moment she saw his mistress on her doorstep.“I know someone from my team whose house was on fire just yesterday. She also has nowhere to go. Should I call her to come over and stay with us as well?” Margot said in a deep and low voice, staring at her husband, coldly.“What? Why won’t you let someone else live with us? I don’t even know that colleague of yours,” Harry retorted, almost immediately.“Exactly.” Margot raised her left eyebrow. “I don’t even know your secretary. She’s not even a relative of yours. So, why should I let her stay with us?” Margot walked past him and headed to her car.Harry followed behind while trying to convince her. “This is only temporary. She’ll be gone by next week,” he said, blocking Margot’s way. “Please. Just let her stay for a few days. She’ll leave before you know it.”Margot shook her head. “No,” she replied. “First of all, we’re married, Harry. How can you bring

Everyone gasped and turned their heads to Nadine who couldn’t bring herself to step forward. None of the people at the table were pleased by what they heard. To think they were gathered to continue the celebration for Harry and Margot’s third wedding anniversary that ended in disaster last time, seeing an outsider join them was distasteful.“What are you saying, Margot? Did you just allow your husband to bring another woman into your house?” Ryan asked his daughter, eyeing his son-in-law who flinched to his every word.“What can I do? Harry insisted,” Margot shrugged. “He said it will only be temporary,” she added, putting Harry in the hot seat.Emma put down her glass and snickered. “Harry, what do you think you’re doing? You can’t bring another woman into your house!” she exclaimed, smacking her hands on the table.Margot rubbed her mother-in-law’s back. “It’s okay, Emma. You don’t have to worry about it. Miss Smith is also working with Harry so I think it’s fine,” she said, smiling

Harry narrowed his eyes. “You’re doing this because I helped Nadine, are you?”Margot placed her hands on her husband’s face. “Unfortunately, no. I know you just want to help your secretary so I can’t stop you from doing something good for the needy,” she replied. “But this matter about money, you started it.”“We’re married,” Harry said, slowly getting back to his senses. “Does it matter if I use your money when it’s for us?”“Exactly,” Margot agreed, pulling her hands away. “Does it really matter if I emptied your account to pay for this dinner you wanted our family to have?”Harry couldn’t say anything against Margot. He knew it shouldn’t matter but he never expected her to use his money to pay. “What happened? You used to pay for it yourself. Why did you suddenly use mine?”Margot let out a sarcastic laugh. “Why, you ask? Three years, honey. I paid for everything for three years. Isn’t it time for you to do it?”“You have more money, Margot. I mean, you always say you’ll take care

Margot couldn’t help smiling as she got out of the car. Harry said nothing on their way home while Nadine didn’t dare to open her mouth.“The dinner was fantastic. We should do this often,” Margot suggested, beaming at her husband.“Yeah. Only if you’re the one who’s paying it,” Harry grumbled, his expression turning dark by the second whenever he thought of what his wife did with his money.Margot laughed. “Don’t be stingy, hon. I know you love expensive food and parties. I was the one who always paid for all of it before. Maybe you should start doing it this time,” suggested, provoking Harry. The latter groaned before grabbing his wife’s hand. He dragged her inside the house. “What are you trying to do? You keep giving me headaches. You won’t listen to what I have to say. And you do things you've never done before just to go against me!”His hand moved to her chin, holding it and lifting her face. “If you’re challenging my patience, stop it. You better stop it, Margot.”Margot grinn

Margot expected Harry to be greedy but she didn’t know he’d never choose but have both at the same time. She locked herself in the guest room, leaving her husband and his mistress in the living room.“This is it,” Margot mumbled to herself, clutching her chest. She savored the pain she felt the moment Harry gave her the answer. “Keep it up, Harry. The moment I get used to this pain will be the end of you,” she said, holding back her tears.Margot had already given up on her marriage but it was undeniable that she was still in pain. She knew it takes time to heal but she had no time to spare. She only wished to get it over with and strike Harry back with her revenge.“Margot, open the door. Let’s talk,” Harry said, knocking. “As much as I wanted to do what you wanted, it’s already late at night. You don’t think Nadine would find a place to stay at this hour, do you?”“I don’t care,” Margot replied. “She can sleep in the streets or wherever but my house,” she grumbled, leaning her back

Although she would love to make Harry suffer, she began to question if it would be wise to spend her life hating on her cheating soon-to-be ex-husband.“Ma’am, here are the documents you asked for,” Tricia said, placing a pile of documents on Margot’s table. “Is everything okay?” she couldn’t stop asking after seeing her boss’s pale complexion.Margot nodded and forced a smile. “Yeah. Harry sneered at his wife. “Better plans? What, divorcing me? No wonder you wouldn’t drop the talk about divorce. You’re using Nadine to get out of this marriage while acting like a victim. Hah! I didn’t expect you to have it in you—”A loud bang interrupted Harry when Leo slammed his hands on the table.“Excuse me, but I don’t think you should be doing this in my office,” he said, glancing over at Margot. “Especially when I have an ongoing session with a patient,” Leo stated, his voice laced with threat and hostility, hidden behind a deceptive smile he honed for years.“A patient, huh? What do you know?” Harry lashed out, glaring at him. “Do you even have an idea that she’s married? What an ignorant fool,” he commented.Margot sighed in exasperation. “Stop making a scene, Harry. I’ll just wait until you peacefully give up that seat of yours, then we won’t waste any time, or I can just kick out the current CEO and maybe start from there before becoming the chairman,” she nonchalantly replied. “What do you think is the best option?”Ryan sighed. “It’s too early for my retirement. So, why don’t you take the second option? It will benefit both you and the company,” he grinned, relying on his daughter’s ability.“Oh!
