34: ‘Third Wheel’

“Damn it!” Harry cursed under his breath. He pulled away from Nadine to face his wife who looked at them, dumbfounded. “This isn’t what you think, hon.”

Margot raised her left eyebrow. Her mouth slightly opened but no words came out of it. She had a lot of things to say but contemplated.

“I was… I was just helping Nadine. We’re not doing anything. You see, we’re just in an awkward position but—” Harry stopped talking when he saw his wife smiling. “Margot…”

“What are you talking about?” Margot stepped inside the elevator with a confused look on her face. “Did something happen to your secretary? I don’t think your room is on this floor,” she said, looking clueless as much as possible.

Harry loosened his tie to breathe. “Nadine fell so I had to catch her. That’s why you caught us in that awkward position,” he said, giving his secretary a meaningful look.
