37: ‘Housemate’

Harry was pacing back and forth, holding his phone while calling Margot. It had been two days since he came back from a business trip and Margot still hadn’t returned. He never felt so uneasy before without seeing his wife.

“I can’t believe she’s not picking up,” he groaned, tossing his phone on the coach. “How dare she maxed my card. I was saving it for the future! She shouldn’t be using my money,” Harry said, grabbing his hair in frustration.

He was wondering why there was a problem with his card so he called the bank as soon as he returned. To Harry’s surprise, he was told that he had zero balance in his account. He didn’t know how it happened but aside from him, only Margot had access to his account.

Harry didn’t expect Margot to go against him or do something without telling him first. He was confident she wouldn’t do anything that he wouldn’t like. Little did he know, she already spent all the money he painstakingly saved for years.
