Nathan's personal cook

The next day,

The next day was a fresh start for everyone, Nathan woke up with a little aching but still he got up for the days work, Emily on the other hand got dressed and went to school, though her face was still red still she didn't wanted her dad's scolding so she left for school without having any breakfast, she took her car keys and left, before she would have waited for her dad so that they could eat together but she knew that if she waited for her dad, her dad would question her in why her face and eyes were swollen so she wore her sun glasses and left for school.

Nathan was already sitted on the dining chair dressed in his suit waiting for the food to be served so that he could go to the office, his was staring at his phone to wide away some time before the food arrived.

Tiana, his personal cook came in with her hands trembling as she managed to speak "Sir" that was when Nathan turned to gaze at her, her face was a little watery, ever since his wife's death, she was the only one making their food, slowly he started liking her food, though there was many cook in the mansion, still he allowed only her to make his food, another cook was them assigned to his daughter.

"What is it, Tiana? where is the food" Nathan asked, his grey eyes staring into hers.

"Sir...." She stumbled on her words "My mother's is sick and I have to go to the town to tend for her, all I ask for is my leave" Her forehead was sweaty as she muttered.

Nathan understood what she meant, it must be ready tough for her, "Alright, I understand, go to stevens my assistant, he will give you your wages for the month and some money to take care of your mother" Nathan breathed out.

"Thank you so much sir" Tiana knelt down, truly she was thankful, she had been a cook ever since was sixteen,but she was just a cook, when his wife died, she became his personal cook, and now she was twenty nine, she really needed the money because her mother was in the verge of dying.

"No need to worry, your mother needs you now, when will you be back?" Nathan asked her.

"Anytime soon, but I might not come back, my mother needs me, I might stay in the town" Tiana explained, her eyes a little watery.

"Alright, please inform Stevens that I want to talk with him" Nathan said.

"Alright, Sir" She left, and after some seconds, Stevens entered "Sir, you called for me?"

"Yes, I did, arrange an interview for my personal cook, I will be there personally to judge them myself" With that statement Nathan took his briefcase and left for work.

Nathan was busy with his laptop at work when Henry, his friend walked in with a smirk.

"What's up man?" He sat down on the chair like the king he is.

"You can't just barge into my office like that, have some respect at least" Nathan eyed him playfully.

"Yeah, Yeah, whatever" Henry laughed it out, he was the playful CEO of his company, he was well known as the company's play boy, he was Nicole uncle and let's not forget that he is a prince of one of the well known kingdoms, he never cared about any girls feelings never, breaking girls heart was like his hobby, after he got them on his bed, he just dumped them like there were piece of rag.

Nathan looked at him, his eyes becoming serious "Henry, when will you settle down with a woman? don't live your life like this for goodness sake, you are thirty two for goodness sake, when will you really settle down, the life you are living right now isn't a life at all"

Henry expression turned serious "You need a woman too, get married, ever since Monica died, you became a hard wood, not willing to fall in love again" Henry said, they all were childhood friends, they were known as the rich man's children in high school and even college, they were like a group always moving around with each other, Him, Nathan, Monica, Veronica, Rebecca and James, and ever since the death of Monica, Nathan didn't like hanging out with them again, it was always the excuse of work or his daughter.

"No I don't think Emily would like that, let's talk about another thing else" Nathan sighed as he diverted the topic, Henry smiled at least Nathan wouldn't bug him about getting married too.

The door opened and Veronica was seen walking in, the clothes she wore was too revealing, that her thighs, cleavages were all exposed to the ogling of men. Nathan almost puked in disgust while Henry was busy feasting his eyes on Veronica.

"Can't I have some privacy at all" Nathan thought as he stared at Henry then at Veronica.

Veronica was quite surprised, Nathan looked at her disgust while henry looked at her lustfully, wasn't it supposed to be the other way round?

Maintaining her poise, she went to give Nathan a hug, but she was yanked away by him.

"Stop it now" Nathan yelled, the aura changed completely, he yanked her away because of the heels she wore she came stumbling to the ground landing on her butt.

"owww" she almost cried, not because if Nathan yanking her away but because of the shame and embarrassment she just received.

"Nathan, why would you do that to Veronica?" Henry was angry, if he was Nathan right now, he would have carried her to his bed.

"Vero, Are you okay?" Henry wanted to loft her up, but she yanked his hands away and left in anger still sobbing.

"What a drama" Henry laughed out loud.

Nathan was very angry that he concentrated on his work that he didn't even remember about Henry, After much silence, Henry couldn't take it anymore.

"I have to go now, I have some work to do" Henry made up an excuse, the silence was really killing him, he wasn't the type to keep silence, he was always blabbing and blabbing. After getting a nod of approval from Nathan he stood up to leave.

Nathan glanced around, he felt his heart get heavier and heavier, truth to be said, Henry was right he needed a woman in his life still he couldn't bring himself to love any woman, he felt that no woman was worthy to take the position if Monica.
