Chapter 7: The No. 20 Omega

Eddah POV 

My eyes grew wide when a loud growl echoed the whole room. 

" Leave!", the Lycan King shouted. 

At first I was confused why he suddenly roared in front of me telling me to get out of his sight.  

" Miss Regeddon, here's your uniform." I was startled as the head maid Rea tossed the white shade cloth on my chest. 

I suddenly realized what just happened inside the Lycan King's room. 

I slowly lowered my back and reached my uniform with my hands on the floor. 

" Your lucky master didn't kill you or take you to the Abbys." She muttered coldly. 

I looked up and asked her about the word Abbys. 

" What do you mean by Abbys?", I said. 

Head maid Rea took a deep breath before telling me about it. Her lips trembled as she started to let out words. 

" It's a curse place for failures. Most Omegas who failed the hunt were brought there and they didn't get back after their families. I heard that it's not a safe place. " She told me as her face turned white. 

I can tell that she's super scared even mentioning the place name. I wonder what was there but why he didn't cast me out like the others instead he just shoved me away from his sight. 

Did he sent all the Omegas she-wolves there who participated annually who's hasn't came back to their families? All failed participants?

Those were the questions clouding up my head when head maid Rea ordered me to follow her to the main kitchen. 

" Come follow me. Since master called out another Omega to replace you and decided not to take you to the Abbys, you'll going to be his personal slave maid." Rea said which made me stunned. 

" What? I will be the Lycan King's personal maid?", I asked her again for confirmation. 

She stop and turned around. 

" Yes! You should be thankful. Just come with me so I can teach you kitchen tasks before he announce the new Luna." After hearing her, I was confused and curious who was his chosen Luna. 

I knew Imore couldn't be his Luna because he was Alpha Damien's fated mate. It can't be Kaya because she's clumsy and Asta can't be his Luna either because she's too young for it and hasn't develop a scent yet since she hasn't met her wolf. 

I just took a deep breath and walked after her straight to the palace main kitchen. 

My eyes widened when a vastly kitchen area greeted us. It's my first time to see this type of luxurious kitchen in my life. Everything was gold plated that your eyes couldn't help but to keep staring at them. 

Head maid Rea gesture her hands to come over near her. I nodded my head and hurriedly walked in her direction. She was standing behind the gas stove are. 

" Here, this is your station. Every morning, master always wanted a cup of camomile tea in his room. You're going to serve it without a pass, understand?", she instructed me on my first day of being the Lycan King's personal maid. 

" Yes, I understand." I replied even everything was still new to me. 

After head maid Rea taught me about kitchen rules and chores, she took me to the maid's quarters to show me my room. 

I thought that I will be going to stay with the other slave maids but she brought me to the room next to the Lycan King's chamber. 

" You will sleep here ordered by the Lord Killan. I don't know why he chose you to be his personal maid when I was here for over ten years!", she told me with her firm voice. 

I don't have any idea what she meant but I'm still glad that Lord Killan didn't cast me out from his territory. I promised to myself not to get back to my packs and father as soon as I left our Kingdom. I rather die in here than being treated like a pawn and useless like trash in front of Alpha Damien. 

As soon as head maid Rea left me in my own quarters, I instantly jumped out on the mattress and spread my arms while taking a deep breath. It's my first time to feel this kind of happiness and freedom in my whole life. I don't care even I'm going to be the Lycan King's slave maid for the rest of my life as long as my father couldn't find and reach for me. 

I can't blame Lord Killan for getting mad at me because I lied about the cuts and bruises on my back. I didn't have a choice that I need to hide the truth about what really happened to me. Even I hated my father and my packs, I couldn't bare to see them die in the hands of Alpha Damien because of me. 

After I was assigned to the kitchen station, I wonder what happened to the other participants especially Astra and Kaya. I'm more concern to them than Imore. She's the reason why I was falsely accused of hurting her and got punished even I'm innocent. 

I gritted my teeth and clenched my fist just thinking how I was being humiliated in front of everyone especially my Father. I didn't sacrifice my younger days being his perfect daughter but he was a coward and selfish. He didn't love me as his daughter because he's only using me just to please our packs and himself. 

I'm so immersed by my deep thoughts when I heard some howling sounds coming from the palace hall. I instantly got up from my bed and swing my door opened. I navigated the hallway connecting the entrance of the palace and my eyes turned wide when I saw Imore with her hands snaking at the Lycan King's arms as they're coming closer to the palace hall. 

" The new Luna was found! The Goddess Luna has answered our Lord Killan's prayers!", everyone shouted. 

I felt like someone showered me with cold water. 

" No, it's impossible", I whispered.
