Chapter 34

Jessica paced the living room, unsure of what to do. She felt uncertain about her mate, whose mother was barely clinging to life, and knew that what they were thinking could cause more harm. Her mate, Zion, wished to eliminate what they didn't understand. They knew that her banshee side was making her wolf more aggressive than usual. But who could blame her? After all, the things she had endured at the hands of Max over the past few years, and losing three of her babies would drive anyone to the brink of madness.

As Jessica pondered at a standstill after her mate's argument, Kelson entered with a plan. She told Jessica that they should let Sky escape in her wolf form. Kelson believed that in this state, she could find and eliminate the person responsible. However, Jessica knew this wasn't the best course of action; Sky's wolf and banshee sides were at war for control, and her banshee side, driven by emotion, was unpredictable. Jessica dismissed the idea, thanking Kelson for the attem
