Her parents came home that day looking all stressed and worn out from their trip. Maxine was playing in the backyard with her little dolly Rex.

"Maxine" her mum called out to her and she got up from the ground she was playing on and quickly dusted the dirt off her body and ran to her mum.

"Mommy" she ran into her parents house and her mum spun her around "how was your trip mommy"

"Perfect even though we didn't get any house yet" she kissed her on her temple. They suspected that someone has been sneaking around their house and they needed a new his out.

"Where's daddy!"

"Looks like someone missed me" her dad's voice came behind her. She jumped into his arms and they giggled. "Tomorrow you're gonna be ten" he gently tickled her behind her ears making her snicker.

"Daaad......dddd....yyy" they kept laughing and her mum took her from his arms.

"Alright Maxine I'm gonna give you an early present" her mum opened a cabinet where she kept her herbs and potions. "Here baby" she handed her a brown books with a glitter all around it. It smelled old and looked really old."this is a spell book from our family it was passed down to me by my mum and she got it from her mum so...I'm giving it to you. I want you to master all the spells here " she pushed the book towards Maxine.

"Thanks ma" Maxine felt really happy she loved being a witch just like her mum. Almost immediately Maxine held the book, they heard a howl from a distance and all of their heads shot up and her dad's face grew stern.

"Maxine come with me" her mum dragged her to the middle of the living room. She pulled up a step and Opened a space beneath the house " no matter what you hear or see don't you dare make a sound am I clear?" Maxine nodded and held the spell book close to her chest and cried softly into it. Then she heard it all. Her mother's screams and attempted spell muttering and her dad's growl. It all happened too fast the fear that enveloped her was making her light headed but she kept her mouth shut. She heard all the screams from her mother.

"why ? why are you guys doing this to us" her mother's voice sounded

"because you want to kill us so we have to get to you guys first" the voice laughed out loud making her other ones laugh. Her heart was beating fast and she wanted to go out there and die with her parents but her parents won't be happy at all. So she stayed put. The last thing she heard was the shrieking scream her mum let out.

"oh Paul she's so small and frail" she didn't recognize the woman's voice at all.

"Yes dear so so small " and that was it she got introduced to her new life and new identity.

    I could feel him beside me. My head was laying in his chest and I could feel every intake of breathe and I could hear every slow heart beat.     I slipped my dress off as I got into the shower after a lot of arguing. Damian wanted to get in first but I made a run for it. I know he could've used his vampire speed to out run me but he let me go so.... Cool right. Once the hot water hit my skin, I couldn't think of anything but how good it feels to rinse off the sweat and dirt off my skin. The water ran down my face making me tip my head backwards so the water could hit my face. I then tipped my chin downwards so that the water could get into my hair. "Are you gonna sleep in there?" Damian voice sounded impatient outside the door. "Chill vampire boy " I laughed as I washed my hair drowning out the sounds.
