CHAPTER NINETY

Jenna's POV

As I saw Roberto walk through the door, my heart skipped a beat. I had missed him so much, even though he was only gone for a few hours. I felt a warmth spread through my chest, seeing him safe and sound.

"Hey, babe!" he said, dropping his bag on the floor and opening his arms for a hug.

I rushed into his embrace, feeling like I was home. "I missed you so much!" I exclaimed, my voice muffled against his chest.

He chuckled and stroked my hair. "I missed you too, love. What's wrong? You seem a little down."

I pulled back, my eyes welling up with tears. "It's just Mary. She said I don't care about her anymore, and it hurts because she's my best friend."

Roberto's expression turned concerned. "What happened?"

I sniffled. "I don't know. She just said I've been distant and don't make time for her like I used to."

Roberto nodded thoughtfully. "Maybe you should drive down to see her later? Clear the air?"

I nodded, feeling a weight lift off my shoulders. "Yeah, that's a great idea
