CHAPTER NINETY -ONE

Writer's POV

As they strolled through the quaint town, Jenna suddenly stopped, her eyes scanning the air. "Mary, I don't feel well," she whispered, her voice laced with concern.

Mary's eyes snapped towards her, alarm etched on her face. "What's wrong?"

Jenna's nostrils flared, her senses on high alert. "I smell wolfsbane."

Mary's grip on her arm tightened. "Oh no, Jenna. Let's get out of here."

But Jenna's mind was already racing back to the memory of her dad at the hospital, his life slipping away due to the same poisonous plant. Her anger simmered, boiling over as she thought of her stepmother, Brianna.

"I need to see Brianna," Jenna growled, her eyes blazing with determination.

Mary's hold on her arm turned into a restraint. "Jenna, no! Don't go near her."

But Jenna shook her off, her strides purposeful. "I have to know if she's behind this."
