After being rescued by a kind stranger named Mia, Ella is taken to the hospital, where she learns that she is pregnant. The news comes as a shock, and she can't help but wonder if the child is Lesley's or the stranger's from the night before. The thought of bearing a child with Lesley's blood makes her shudder.

Ella is discharged from the hospital and, with nowhere to go, Mia invites her to stay at her house.At Mia's home, Ella finds herself opening up about her past, sharing with Mia the events that led to her current predicament.

Mia listens with empathy and understanding, offering a comforting shoulder to cry on. "I can't even begin to imagine what you've been through," she says, gently taking Ella's hand in hers. "But know this, you're safe now, and I'm here for you, no matter what."
