CHAPTER SIXTY -EIGHT

As I drive back to my pack, my mind is consumed by the venomous words Jax, Lola's foster father, spewed about her. I can't shake off the feeling of indignation and protectiveness that's been simmering inside me since I witnessed his cruelty. Why did he have to be so heartless? Doesn't he know how amazing Lola is?

I grip the steering wheel tighter, my knuckles white with tension, as I relive the memory of Jax's scornful tone and hateful language. My pack's values of loyalty and respect echo in my mind, and I wish Jax was part of our pack, so I could teach him a lesson in humility and compassion. I'd show him what it means to be a true leader, to earn respect and loyalty.

If only I could have stood up to him, I think, my eyes narrowing. I would have confronted him, looked him straight in the eye, and told him to shut his mouth. I would have shown him the true meaning of strength and honor. My instincts urge me to defend Lola, to make Jax understand the error of his ways.
