Chapter 114: Knock

Derrick sat on the edge of the bed in his hotel room, scrolling through the photos on his phone. He came across a picture of him and Lyra laughing and holding hands. The photos that he took of her eating, casually sitting, and watching something on her phone made him chuckle. Although most of the photos were blurry since he wasn’t well aware of the proper ways to snap photos yet. The last one in his gallery was a shot of Lyra peacefully sleeping like a beautiful angel on her pillow, the same night he decided to leave. He couldn't help but smile at the memory.

"The space between us had been killing me endlessly," he whispered as he zoomed into her lips. "I knew that this was going to be tough on my end, but I did not expect it to be this difficult."
