Chapter 122: Lies

Dame's heart began to race as he tried to comprehend the truth of Zin's words. He felt a lump form in his throat, making it hard to breathe. His hands began to shake as he tried to grasp the reality of the situation.

"What are we going to do?" Dame asked, his voice barely above a whisper. "How can we keep this from Miss Lyra? She's going to be devastated when she finds out that Derrick is gone."

Zin looked at him with pained eyes, his body trembling a little bit. "We have to keep it from her at all costs. It's what the master wanted. He asked to do that, and we have to at least try."

Dame nodded. He's beginning to fear what's about to happen to them. "I know, but how are we going to explain Derrick's absence? People will start asking questions, especially Miss Lyra. She's not going to be fooled, especially not by us. She knows a lot; she will figure this out by herself."

"We'll tell them that master had to go away for some urgent business. And that he arranged everything for Miss Lyra
