"We understand. You may leave now." Reuel remained unfazed by Caleb's words and gestured with his wrist to leave.
Although Caleb was surprised by the two men's reactions, he didn't dwell more upon it. They would handle the matter themselves. He did his duty of informing them. Bowing slightly, he left the office and the door closed after him.
Reuel darted a glance at Azael who was already staring at him and his brother got the message immediately.
In a blink, Azael was by the computer and his fingers flew over the keyboard as he tried to retrieve the video. He specifically targeted the time after they arrived at the club to get the lead.
Reuel picked up his drink and stood behind his brother's chair as he stared at the screen curiously.
Azael picked up the camera that pointed towards the entrance of the club and just as Reuel entered the club, a lady collided with him.
"Rewind it from there." Reuel's eyes flashed as he saw the woman on the screen. From this angle, they couldn't see her face and they had to look at multiple camera recordings to capture her face.
Azael was on it and soon they saw Elise's beautiful face on the screen.
"Damn!" Azael felt his heart burn when he saw her dress. It barely reached her thighs, exposing her long legs to the world. The black sexy attire made her look like a minx who had come to destroy the world, their world to be precise.
Reuel felt his throat run dry and he had to take a sip of his drink to calm his burning heart. Elise looked tempting, a fucking enchantress and he couldn't move his gaze away from her even for a moment.
"If only she were ours..." Azael sighed as he continued to find the footage since the time she entered their club.
"That dress would be ripped off her body by now," Reuel commented calmly and Azael didn't doubt him on it. His intentions were no less different from his brothers.
If Elise was theirs and she came before them wearing that dress, then the dress wouldn't last a moment longer on her body.
"Reuel, look at this." Azael had retrieved all the clips he wanted and he started playing the video one by one.
The twins saw Elise and Kai enter the club and immediately head towards the bar. Nothing significant happened and they only engaged in small talk which the brothers couldn't make out.
But soon, they moved towards the dance floor and the moment they saw Kai's hands on her waist, the brothers felt the possessive beasts in them threatening to break free.
"Reuel, are you feeling the same thing as I am?" Azael questioned when he noticed his brother's dark face reflected on the computer screen.
"I want to chop off his hands."
"Me too. Why do I feel so possessive even though it is the first time I'm meeting her?" Azael felt frustrated. Never had he felt so lost and not in control.
A woman they had met for the first had managed to mess with their brains without doing anything. They were lured to her like moths were to light and as time passed, their greed to have her in their life only increased.
"Continue the video." Reuel's voice was cold and dangerous. His knuckles had turned white as he gripped the glass hard. It was just close to shattering in his hand.
Azael played the video again and they lost it completely when the dance turned into something else altogether. Elise and Kai were now kissing each other and that was how it looked until they noticed something strange about their actions.
Elise's hair covered the two. So, they couldn't actually see if they were kissing or not. But her hands were easily visible and they noticed how she ran her hands on the....
"Reuel, is she..."
"I'm guessing she is."
"Interesting." Azael smirked as he watched the couple put up the act.
While Elise and Kai had managed to fool everyone in the club, they couldn't trick the twins. They had been caught and the brothers sighed in relief, the beasts in them retreated and went silent.
Azael and Reuel didn't speak a word until they saw Elise leave the club. Silence fell over them for quite some time until the younger twin turned around to face his brother.
"Reuel, what do you think she was doing?"
"I'm assuming she was trying to find a way to get inside."
"Do you think she knows what is behind that door?"
"I'm not sure. We should ask her the next time we meet her."
Reuel commented and Azael's lips stretched into a wide smile when he realized what his brother was up to.
"Do you think she'll agree to what we want?" Azael asked after thinking for some time.
"There's no trouble in trying. What if she is the one we are looking for?" Reuel shrugged as he chucked down his drink. He couldn't brush off the image of Elise in that gorgeous dress and he knew that from on, it would be this Elise he'd dream of every night.
Azael returned to the video and started playing it again. This time, he caught onto something he had missed before.
"Reuel, take a look at this." He called his brother to gain his attention and Reuel raised his head to look at the screen again.
"Elise and her colleague must be here for someone. They keep glancing at the entrance every few seconds." Azael pointed out and he switched to a recording from a different camera.
"I'm presuming it's him." Azael paused the video and stared at the man on the screen. "It was only after he entered the club that they started their pathetic act."
"I'm running a background check on him. Let me see why Elise wanted to see him."
Azael's hands flew crazily on the keyboard and soon he had the information he needed.
"Interesting."
"What is it?"
"He is Boris Green. He is a businessman who rose to the top after selling drugs."
"Drugs, you say?"
"Then we should give a helping hand to Elise," Reuel suggested casually.
Azael's eyes twinkled in mischief and he got to work immediately. "Sent. I hope Elise realizes what a great assistance we have been."
"I'm going down. Are you coming?"
Azael gave his brother a confused look.
"It's time to fire a few people for their shitty job."
"What do you think, Elise? Do you suspect the Sephyr twins?" Kai glanced at his friend who was staring outside the window as they drove back home. The silence was oddly unsettling, especially after the dreadful incident and the nightmarish meeting with the twins."I do. I definitely do. The Sephyr twins must be behind Craig's death.""Death?" Kai stepped on the brakes, forcing the car to come to a sudden stop and Elise jolted due to the sudden impact."Do you have a death wish, Kai? Spare me. I don't want to die yet." She glared at him as she looked behind to see if they had hindered anyone else on the road. Fortunately for them, the road was deserted and they were alone. Otherwise, horns would have brought out their functionality in the dead of the night, scaring all the sleeping creatures away."My bad, I apologize." Kai started driving again and this time, he was careful and alert. "Do you think Craig is dead?""I don't think, I'm damn sure about it," Elise stated with conviction.
Elise's eyes narrowed as she saw the two names at the bottom. Alarm bells went off in her mind and she pinched her thighs to clarify if she was dreaming.'This is not good. How did they find out?' Elise wondered. More than being frightened, she was vexed and she couldn't put a reason behind it. She didn't know why she was exasperated. But she was. The twins were getting on their nerves and she didn't like it.Elise wanted to inform Kai about the email. But she thought against it. The twins were clearly targeting her. Otherwise, she wouldn't have received the email out of nowhere.'But why?' Elise pursed her lips as she read the two names again and again.Elise pushed her against her cheek thoughtfully as she composed a reply.'Although I should be scared that you two know the reason why I was at your club earlier this evening, I'm more miffed because you're crossing your limits here. Please stay within your limits. Otherwise, it'll do you no good.'Elise.Elise sent the email before s
Elise pulled down her black dress as she glared at her colleague and friend, Kai, shooting daggers at him through the mirror. She was extremely uncomfortable in the dress and as every second passed, she had all the notion of aborting the mission and choosing another path, one that did not have her to dress up skimpily, even if the dress was anything but that.Kai just winked at her as he pushed his copper brown hair, ruffling it until he was satisfied. "You look hot, Elise. Calm down." He tried, only to stop when Elise picked up the gun in front of the mirror and pointed it at his head."You better stop speaking before I put a bullet through your head."Kai just raised his hands in mock surrender and took a step away from her, his smile still intact on his face."You are annoying. Remind me again why we became friends and why I even accepted to dress up so...so..." Elise fumbled to find an apt word to describe her attire."Gorgeously? Sexily?" Kai added."I meant horrendously." Elise
"What the fuck!" Elise cursed under her breath and Kai let out a sigh, frustrated to have missed the man by a short inch. "What does the door at the back open to?" She probed as they continued dancing, glancing at the black curtains that blended well with the wall."I have no idea," Kai muttered, his forehead creasing deeper thoughtfully. "This is the second time I am visiting this club and it is only now I noticed the secret door. Maybe, it's the VIP area." He shrugged lightly."Well, why don't we find out ourselves?" Elise suggested and deftly, the couple moved towards the curtains as they continued dancing, making sure to keep a watch out for any suspicious eyes."I hope we can sneak inside without getting noticed," Kai mumbled as they reached the curtains after a few seconds of hustling. Although the place was crowded, the area near the curtains was relatively empty. Elise and Kai both realized that their prolonged stay would only raise suspicions, especially from the bartender wh
"I'll ask you one last time. Why did you betray us?" The man on the throne-like chair leaned forward and folded his hands as he looked at his prey in the eye. His forest green eyes were barely devoid of any emotion. His chestnut brown hair was disheveled and his dark blue tie lay loosened around his neck. Even if he did not show any emotion, a dark and dangerous air filled the room, forcing everyone to suck in a deep breath. The beast was about to unleash its wrath and they could only pray to stay alive at the end of the day and watch the sunrise again."Boss, you'll have to trust me." The man who was kneeling in front of the throne-like chair cried miserably. But no one pitied him. He had chosen the path of his own destruction and they could do nothing about it."Trust..." The man let out a chuckle all of a sudden and stood up, forcing the kneeling man to scoot further away from him in fear. "I do not trust anyone in this world, Marco. Anyone but my brother and you..." His smile sli
Reuel stood frozen in his place, blanking out for a moment amidst a crowd of drunken and sweaty bodies. He stared at his hands that had touched the lady, albeit briefly before he looked in the direction she had gone.'If only...' He wondered, his eyes filled with interest before he shook his head. Pushing away his thoughts to the back of his mind, he took a deep breath and ambled towards the bartender, keeping an eye around for him. Other than the usual activities in the club, he found nothing suspicious. It seemed as it had always been, as it always would be."Good evening, Boss." The bartender greeted him and pushed a glass of scotch, his regular and Reuel nodded at him in return."Anything worthy of my attention?" Reuel still had his eyes towards the crowd and if not for his barely noticeable lip movement, no one would find him talking."Not at all, Boss. Everything's fine here. But there might be something that interests you."This caught Reuel's attention and he finally focused o
Azael leaned back and turned around, his predatory eyes watching Craig run towards the stairs. His lips arched up on one side in sarcasm, and he scoffed before walking out of the place.Reuel too smoothened his trousers and followed his brothers. The inner office was their private space and no one was allowed there, not even their trusted employees.'Craig, you are just a leech. You do not deserve to breathe the same air around me, let alone enter our room.' Reuel sneered and took one of the only two chairs in the outer room."This should be fun." Azael leaned back and crossed his legs, ignoring the pain in his ankle while Reuel chuckled in mirth."It will be. Trust me."Barely had he finished speaking when there was a knock at the door. However, the anxious man on the other side could not enter the room even if they wanted to.Although they could not hear a word, Azael and Reuel were sure that the man was yelling at the top of his lungs and their smiles widened.Azael picked up the r
"Did you just mention a BDSM club?" Elise was flabbergasted and she stared at the man beside her incredulously."I think I did just that. Or do you want me to rewind time so you can find out yourself?" Kai teased and winked at her."Ohh, please do. Let me see how you will rewind time." Elise folded her hands, annoyed by the man's blatant foolish acts.Kai tried to remember what had happened a few minutes ago and sat straight in his seat while driving the car carefully. Fortunately for him, the road was clear. Other than a few vehicles passing by occasionally, it was practically deserted. It was past midnight on a Friday—the best time for people to go clubbing and relieve their entire week's stress."Unless it is a BDSM club," Kai repeated what he had said some time ago and glanced at his friend, his eyes twinkling like the stars. "Now, everything falls into place."Elise burst out laughing at his antics and her annoyance vanished momentarily. "You are fucking unbelievable.""I know. T

Other than Azael and Reuel, the three men jumped to their feet instantly. They were utterly spooked to find blood and immediately, their gaze turned to the twins.Oddly, the brothers were calm as they sat in their chairs. Their face was unfathomable and Elise couldn’t make out what was running in their minds. However, it didn’t matter to her. They may deny as much as they want. But eventually, their crimes would come to light one day. After all, karma was a bitch.“May I know whose blood this is?” Elise wasn’t as perturbed as her teammates. Instead, she continued to watch the twins as if she was not dealing with the two most dangerous men in the world but someone who she’d soon put behind bars.“That, Officer, is my blood.” Azael broke the tension in the air and Elise finally lost her composure.“Your blood?”“Yes. You see I was careless and injured my foot before you guys came.”“You got injured today?” Elise tone clearly depicted that she didn’t believe a word he said.“Yes.” Azael
“Please take your seats.” Reuel pointed towards the two couches and everyone noticed that his eyes lingered more on Elise than anyone else. While the three men sat down, Elise stood still and watched the twins who were sitting like emperors on their throne-like chairs. She squinted her eyes when her eyes fell on Azael’s white sneakers. Unlike his twin who was dressed prim and proper in a suit, minus the jacket now, Azael instead was dressed casually. “Please take your seat as well, Elise.” Reuel gestured towards one of the chairs that was closer to them, forcing her to snap out of her thoughts. “No, thank you. I’m fine.” Elise smiled nonchalantly and moved her gaze away from the twins. Taking the sudden silence as their cue, the two police officers started their interrogation. “Mr. Azael, Mr. Reuel, Craig Tyrell was last seen in your club. Are we right?” Derek started. “It might be. After all, the club is open to the public.” Azael shrugged as though it was not uncommon for Crai
"We'd like to meet the owners of the club." Daniel and Derek flashed their IDs at the entrance of Black Opal as they waited for the bouncers to allow them inside.Elise and Kai stood behind them as they scrutinized the place. This time, they were more alert and careful as they waited behind the police officers. Although they were just assisting them in the investigation, it was still their duty to accompany them even if they'd be recognized by the people who worked in the club."May I know the reason?" One of the bouncers questioned and glanced behind him, signaling his companion to alert their Bosses."We're investigating a case and we have a few questions we wish to ask them," Derek replied as he looked inside the club from where he was. As expected of a club on a Friday night. The music was blasting off and the smell of smoke and booze filled the air. The crowd was unbearable and Elise felt sick just by looking at them."Follow me." The guard stated monotonously and Elise quirked
The reporter had no words to say and he lowered his head, utterly embarrassed by how things had turned out to be. Not only had he been humiliated by the police and the NCI, but he had also made a fool of himself in front of his peers. Unable to face the ignominy anymore, he departed from the place immediately.Daniel and Derek smiled at Elise gratefully while the lady faced the other reporters who had gone silent after her valiant attack."If any of you here is going to ask such stupid questions, I suggest you leave right away. Otherwise, you'll only disgrace yourself. I don't mind thrashing stupid people black and blue if that is what they're looking for." She warned and when she noticed that the threat had been registered by them, she stepped back again, allowing the two police officers to take over."Good job." Kia whispered the moment she was back to her place and Elise gave him a curt nod. Since the nuisance was gone, Daniel and Derek could handle the other reporters and Elise d
Elise returned to the two men who were deep in discussion. "I apologize for that. I was seeking help from a trusted aid.""No problem, Officer. We were discussing what to do next." Daniel replied with a smile."This is going to be a long night," Kai mumbled, running a hand through his messy hair."It sure will be, considering the number of people who died here." Daniel agreed and closed the file in his hands."Sir," One of the policemen jogged towards them and interrupted their conversation. "I'm sorry for interrupting. But Officer Derek is looking for you. You are to handle the reporters.""Shit!" Daniel cursed under his breath and gnashed his teeth in annoyance. "Aren't we in a mess already? Why do we have to handle the reporters when we are yet to crack the case?" He grumbled, and Elise pitied the man for his state. It was one thing to handle the reporters when they had evidence with them and more or less knew who the culprit was. But it was a different thing altogether to face the
Elise sucked in a deep breath before she accepted the call. "Yes, Chief?""Elise, why haven't you updated me on the status of the investigation yet?" She heard a harsh voice from the other end and felt her blood boil in fury. 'It had barely been a few minutes since I arrived and this man was dying to get reports from me. How annoying!' She cursed under her breath and looked at her shoe, kicking away the broken piece of brick as though it was her Chief's head she was kicking."Chief, we are yet to investigate the matter completely. We have only begun." She tried but was interrupted by the shithead of a man. "Elise, I do not want any excuses. Do your job well." He ordered and Elise felt her hand itching to give him a good beating. He was the only irritating person in her life, besides Kai of course. But she could tolerate Kai, not her Chief. Never."Yes, Chief." Elise suppressed her anger and looked at Kai who was already staring at her in... concern. Elise frowned when she noticed t
