Chapter 43

Enzo’s point of view

I stood by the engine room, watching Rhiannon chat with her friend as they talked about what they expected to hear from the elders.

Rhiannon seemed happy and excited about what would happen once they arrived on the island. I could not believe she was that monster’s daughter. How could a father be so cruel towards his children?

“Enzo? Do you want to say something before we start?” Rodrigo asked me before I shifted my attention to him, wondering why he was asking me that.

“What?”

“I wanted to find out if you wanted to say anything as we start,” He said

“No. I’m good, a lot of people seem nervous already as it is,” I said to him. He shrugged his shoulder before walking away and heading back down as I swallowed hard.

The first part of the trip was quiet and all chatter for most of the day. By evening, they seemed to get tired and Rhia made sure to stay away from me this entire time.
